1. Where has the time gone?

I swear it feels like yesterday since I put up my last post, but here I am 3 MONTHS LATER and I'm just now getting to it!

Well, here's my update . . . .

 - I got involved with a critique group led by a local author.  She's published mostly PB, but she's working on her first MG.  So far it's been great . . . I'm really appreciating the feedback I'm getting and it certainly gets me in the mood to pursue a more permanent critique/support group.  I do still have my list, and there are some people in my town who are on it so, we'll see . . .

 - I've got good news and kind of bad news on the conference front.  The good news is I'm heading for the Davis conference in a couple of weeks.  This year the editors who will be there are the ones critiquing the manuscripts.  I sent my PB - PIGGY to be looked over, and I have my fingers crossed.  The bad news is that this will be the first year since 2004 I won't be going to the National conference in LA this August, but the reason is good . . . I'm going to be in Wisconsin for my grandpa's 90th birthday party.  I'm SO excited!

 - Unfortunately I did hear back from Spider magazine and everything was rejected.  However, I haven't heard back from Ladybug about my other poems, so the possibility is still there!  I also haven't heard from Walker & CO about my other PB.  It's been over 20 weeks so I can call the submission line (YEAH!).

 - I'm working slowly but steadily on my YA novel.  I'm on the 9th or 10th chapter.  I should be working on it right now, but I thought updating this was more important right now.   :)

That's all the important stuff that's going on right now.  I still have a lot to get done, resubmitting my non-fiction that got lost on it's way to Hopscotch, another fiction piece I need to send to Shine Brightly magazine, and I need to start working on a non-fiction piece about Xcaret where I visited about a year ago when my family went to Cancun.

And of course . . . trying to get Cat done.

That's it for now . . . time to write.
