26. website re-do...DONE!

© the enchanted easel 2013
finally got around to finishing up the website re-design.

the layout basically remains the same. i just wanted something a bit more streamlined and not as colorful as the last design....so that the bright colors of the artwork speak for themselves.

and, i thought i'd add some cuteness by including my little stuffed elephant maggie to the mix. she really does exist...:)

take a peek and feel free to leave any comments/feedback.

p.s. still recovering from neck surgery a few weeks ago, so i'm painting at a slower pace than usual...trying not to put too much pressure on my neck while it heals and "fuses".

31. First Man On and In the Moon

Man In the Moon

The Man in the Moon. Neil Armstrong. July, 1969. Still an incredible moment. Always an incredible moment.

I've never been a technology geek so my emotional attachment to this historical event is purely one of awe, of the impossible come true. Something, I think, that we all have to believe can be achieved.

A reluctant hero, but a hero all the same. Thank you, Mr. Armstrong. You're my Man in the Moon.

50. If there were a reason to start rumors of a pencil lead...

If there were a reason to start rumors of a pencil lead shortage, these drawings by Tom Betthauser might be one. Amazing detail on a huge scale - this drawing is four feet by five feet.

Tom also posts detail close-ups of works in progress on his Tumblr. Leave some pencils for the rest of us, Tom!
