Today is the B-I-G day! The last book in Deidre's Gods of Midnight series, RED MORTAL, is out, and finally the epic love story of King Leonidas and Daphne is being told! Here are the deets:

Next year, from August 8th to August 13th, Deidre plans to sail the high seas during the Pocono LeHigh Romance Writers' Retreat at Sea event. The highly anticipated DARK AND STORMY KNIGHTS anthology has finally been released. Contributors include Jim Butcher, Illona Andrews, Carrie Vaughn, Rachel Caine, Vicki Petterrson, Shannon K. Bucther, P.N. Elrod, Lilith Saintcrow and last (but certainly not least!), Deidre Knight!

Deidre's Gods of Midnight series boasts three books and one digital novella beginning with the word "red." That can get a little confusing when you're trying to sort out what book comes in what order, so I'm hear to keep you from seeing red. Hopefully you'll just read RED. ;-) Let's start with the latest installment...
Book Three -- RED DEMON was released on June 1st to much fanfare (see fireworks below and think BIGGER)! This book focuses on Aristos, a troubled Spartan who's been holding the pain of loosing the love of his life in an apparent suicide more than a century ago. A seemingly impossible message from the otherside brings news from his true love, Juliana Tiades. Together they must figure out how to outwit an dangerous force that threatens to destroy their union once and for all.
*Intermission* (aka the digital only novella RED BLOODED) - Released in May, this novella's unique hero is a blinded Iraq vet turned vampire hunter. It's available from Sony, BN.com, and will shortly be on Kindle and Borders.com. Deidre's June release, RED DEMON, and this novella go hand in hand.
Book Two - RED FIRE debut in June 2009. It chronicled the journey of tourtured hero River Kassandros and his lady love Emma Lowery.
Book One - RED KISS, released in October of 2008, featured Ajax Petrakos and his prophesied mate, Shay Angel.

Good question about the paperback version of Red Blooded. I'd much prefer something I could hold in my hand, but if the only way I can read it is on my computer, then I'll do that.
Jia, what do you mean by Red Blooded and Red Demon going hand in hand. Should I make sure to read the novella before the latest book?
At this time there are no plans to release RED BLOODED in print. We'll definitely keep fans updated if anything changes in the future.
Gina, as for you question about RED BLOODED and RED DEMON going hand in hand -- no you don't have to read one before the other. RED BLOODED is a stand alone story. It's May release was meant to be a special bonus for fans, so I just wanted to remind everyone that they have two new stories from Deidre to enjoy right now. Maybe I will go back and edit that a little to be more clear. So thank you!

During Deidre's research for the Gods of Midnight e-novella, RED BLOODED, featuring blind Iraq veteran Dillon Fox, she stumbled upon the story of real life hero, Bryan Anderson. In 2005, Bryan lost three of this limbs in a IED (Improvised Explosive Device) attack. The soldier now has a flourishing public speaking career and has appeared on television and in the movies. Currently, he's working on writing a book about his experience.

One of those real life heroes is Iraq War veteranBryan Anderson, a triple amputee and Purple Heart recipient who is working on adding the title of “author” to his resume.
Bryan’s story begins in his hometown of Rolling Meadows, Ill. As a teenager, he was a gymnast competing at the state level and excelled academically. He went on to work as Ground Crew Chief at O’Hare airport for American Airlines before enlisting in the Army. It was during his second tour of duty in October 2005 that an IED (Improvised Explosive Device) caused a catastrophic injury, severing both his legs and left hand.
After returning from Iraq, the soldier spent 13 months undergoing more than 40 surgeries. As he recovered, his mind was on more than just figuring out how to walk again. “I wanted to figure out what I could and could not do, and in doing that – I figured out there wasn’t a whole heck of a lot that I can’t do,” he says. “I mean, I can still climb trees if I want to.”
True to his word, Bryan can still climb trees along with a whole other host of activities many full-bodied people—as Bryan calls them—find daunting, including; snowboarding, wakeboarding, driving race cars, rock climbing and riding a bicycle 110 miles using hand cranks.
