The Man in the Moon. Neil Armstrong. July, 1969. Still an incredible moment. Always an incredible moment.

I've never been a technology geek so my emotional attachment to this historical event is purely one of awe, of the impossible come true. Something, I think, that we all have to believe can be achieved.

A reluctant hero, but a hero all the same. Thank you, Mr. Armstrong. You're my Man in the Moon.

More musings on the subject at Bronson Hill Arts.

2. Were you read to as a child?

I have fond memories of being read to in school. My teacher read the Little House books by Laura Ingalls Wilder to our class, and Jack London's White Fang. I can remember being transported in my mind to those places and times. I loved it. I love movies, but it just isn't the same as escaping into a book.

I asked Dotti Enderle if she had any fond memories of being read to. Here is her answer:

My fondest and most prominent memories of third grade were of my teacher reading to us. She read Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle and Charlotte's Web. I was engrossed and taken in by both, and remember being as much enthralled by those books as by my favorite TV shows.

3. Robert's Snow ~ The Flakes are arriving

I was thrilled to hear that Elizabeth OBrien has featured my snowflake, Penrod Penquin and his iCE Pod, for Robert's Snow on her Blog.

About "The Robert's Snow Project"
The Robert's Snow project asks children's illustrators to design snowflakes each year to help raise money for cancer. Different children's literature blogs have been asked to adopt a snowflake. Elizabeth was gracious enough to adopt mine for a preview viewing.

You can see all the snowflakes being auctioned off this year at The Offcial Robert's Snow website.
