1. flying pig

a woman from the USA I guess and whose name I don't remember now, wrote to me in 2007-2008 and asked me to make a  flying pig for some non-profit campaign, breast cancer I think. I showed her this after a few days, then she told me it had to be a she-pig. So I made some changes to it, and she looked cute, though I don't think I keep neither the file I sent her nor the drawing to see it now.

2. gesture

Armed with only wings, hooves and oinking, Ignatz found articulating irony a bit difficult. Luckily, having mastered the art of winking, Iggy was able to use this gesture liberally while doling out the hogwash.

Wink wink, get it? Hogwash? Anybody?

This week’s Illustration Friday theme is “gesture” and once again I am really reaching to fit something in. A very nice person, commissioned me to draw a flying pig for a piece she is working on. I figured I could also make it work for an IF post, since otherwise, I’ve been busy, feverishly working on stuff for the L.A. SCBWI conference in a few weeks.

Hey, is anyone else going? Let me know!

3. Dream Pig & Illustration Friday

This week has been full of promos and sketches for new portfolio pieces. I felt the need to let loose and have some fun. Alice the Dream Pig is the result. The upper text reads: "Alice flapped her wings and flew westward towards the sunset". Remember to always Dream Pig!

BTW: Alice is also a 'beginner' at flying so this fits in with the Illustration Friday theme, thank you very much!

5. IF : Riding Bare-Backwards

Zappo the cat left home at a very young age to join the circus. Till this day, Zappo always rides his flying pig backwards because his mother long ago said, " Always remember where you came from."

Okay, so Zappo took it literally.
You can see my Moleskine entry here :)

6. HOW DO YOU DECIDE WHO TO MARRY?

I just had to add this email to my blog. It is so cute and funny. Now obviously these kids have been influenced by adults here. My question to you is do the girls appear smart and the boys rather disgruntled or is it just me? Marriage is not getting a very good rap here but it is funny to read..... or is it sad? HOW DO YOU DECIDE WHO TO MARRY? (Written by kids) 1) You got to find somebody who
