Is there anything more horrible than a mosquito keeping you awake? You get out of bed and try to catch it, but you can´t see it, so you go back to bed, and this little beast keeps buzzing like he is on a mission, so you try to catch it again and this goes on all night, until you go crazy. I hate mosquitos so much!
Hay algo más horrible que un mosquito manteniendote despierto? Uno sale de la cama, lo trata de atrapar, pero no se ve, entonces te metes a la cama otra vez y esa bestiecilla sigue zumbando como si tuviera una misión, entonces tratas de atraparlo otra vez y esto sigue toda la noche, hasta que te enloqueces. Odio los mosquitos!
An illustration for Monday Artday, the topic this week is circus. I have never seen a flea circus, and I don´t really know if they actually exist. If the fleas look familiar, its because they come from an older illustration, you can see it here.. Although they were not so active in that illustration, they were kind of dying.
Una ilustración para Monday Artday, el tema de esta semana es circo. Nunca he visto un circo de pulgas y no estoy segura si existen realmente. Si las pulgas parecen conocidas, es porque salieron de una ilustración vieja, la pueden ver aca. Aunque no estaban tan activas en esta ilustración, mas bien se estaban muriendo.

This is Boom-Boom, sword-swallowing, juggling, and tightrope-walking over fire. I sometimes feel like her as I go about my life of home-maker, husband, dad, webmaster for California State University, and squeezing in art, blogging, and Monday Artday.
I just got an email from a marketing company proposing advertising on this site. I looked them up - they promote online poker. Hoo-boy. I've made the decision not to advertise on this site. Maybe one day I'll offer some Monday Artday-specific products but I think I can keep the site looking more friendly and fun by not littering it with google ads and gambling sites. I'll find another way to make that 10 or 20 dollars a month. Really, the satisfaction of knowing that artists are coming here to inspire and be inspired is payment enough.

This is Dusty the Doofus. His peers in grade school thought his name to be a bit long and dubbed him "Duh". And it stuck. So now you will find Dusty or, Duh, as they say, with half a comb-over, mis-matched socks, and ink stains on his shirt. Duh tends to get distracted easily and often times sweetens his coffee with salt. He then goes on to tell the nearest person how unique and flavorful the coffee is. Even his pet bunny "Roofus", eyes him in disbelief. Duh may not be the sharpest tack, but he's still quite lovable. Come on, how can you resist that smile?
