1. Still raining here ...

Image by Ellen Beier from Sybil Ludington's Midnight Ride

I know we are already into Spring and flowers, but here it just keeps on pouring—endless rain! Here is an image from Sybil Ludington's Midnight Ride by Marsha Amstel. This is what it looks like outside my window—well ... without the horse.

4. The Prairie That Nature Built

This is the rain that splatters the ground,
And quenches the fire
that blazed all around.
This is a spread from The Prairie That Nature Built, written by Marybeth Lorbiecki, illustrated by me, Cathy Morrison, and published by Dawn Publishing. It comes out September 1, 2014.

A wild prairie is a lively place in this rhythmic romp with munchers and crunchers above and below the grasses so thick, and fires that flare, and rains that quench and always the prairie grows green. Back matter offers information and activities for a fuller appreciation of this marvelous, disappearing habitat.

7. Elly

I don’t have anything to say today, really. I woke up a little late and feel behind with much work to do (Never enough time, ya know..?) I have been posting everyday, though, so I found this in the coffers of some area of the computer–a picture book page I worked on a few months [...]

10. A Busy Wednesday

It's going to be a very busy Wednesday for me. I've got a lot of work to do and will most likely spend the vast majority of my day hunched over my drawing table in my dark studio with the blinds drawn. I won't take a shower until well after lunch which will make my hair slimy, and my skin greasy, and my teeth still covered with that pasty morning tooth film for most of the day.

That's right...I'm a bridge troll.

I'd tell you to "ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS THREE" before you continue reading, but I'm much to busy to come up with three questions, so instead I'll just wave you through.

The above sketch is yet another rough from the very same recent project the last rough was produced for.

Steve
