In a series of “round ups” we have been summarising the many movies, plays and other projects associated with Harry Potter alumni. The YA cast from Potter includes the trio and J.K. Rowling’s ‘Big Six’, so it’s unsurprising that they’re on all sorts of exciting endeavours!
A new trailer and poster for Dan’s upcoming spy-thriller Imperium have recently been released, which you can view below – he will be portraying nervous undercover FBI agent / white supremacist, Nate Foster. The film is set to be released in August. Entertainment Weekly reports:
“The director says — worryingly — that the more he learned about the topic, the more timely and relevant it seemed. “We’re witnessing a surge in far-right groups all across Europe; in some cases they’re nearly winning national elections,” says Ragussis. “We have a stereotype of what it means to be a white supremacist, but when I began collaborating with Michael and doing my own research, I was stunned by the depth and the extent of this movement.”
Ragussis made every effort to authentically portray the experience of going undercover, as well as the modern-day white supremacist community. “There’s a large white supremacist rally in the middle of the film that we had spent months researching and planning,” the filmmaker explains. “There were so many details that had to be captured to try to make it real and authentic. I’d read about them, seen them, watched videos of them — but to actually see it come to life by our own hands was something I’ll never forget. Someone even called the news and erroneously reported a Klan rally in their neighborhood! So to that extent, I suppose we did our job.””
Dan will also star in Jungle – a psychological thriller based around the story of Yossi Ghinsberg’s memoir of his trip to the Amazon, which was included in The Discovery Channel’s I Shouldn’t Be Alive.
Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy) has been cast as a series regular in CW’s The Flash. He will be portraying Julian Dorne – a Central City Police Department crime scene investigator. Read more here.
Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley) recently wrote, produced and directed short movie Medusa’s Ankles with Potter co-star Jason Isaacs, which is set for release this year. She also raised money for Film Aidby making her own ‘Come Dream With Me’ t-shirts, which got the support of many Potter co-stars, and even J.K. Rowling herself!
Matthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom) is currently starring in Me Before You alongside Sam Claflin (The Hunger Games), Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones) and Jenna Coleman (Doctor Who).
He is also (almost) confirmed to be co-starring as ‘Lenny’ in Terminal, along with Margot Robbie , Simon Pegg, Mike Myers and more. The film is being produced by Harry Potter producer, David Barron. Read more at Matthew lewis.com here.
AlfredEnoch (Dean Thomas) will be returning to CB’s hit show How to Get Away With Murder for its third season on September 22nd.
Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood) and Katie Leung (Cho Chang) recently took the Ilvermornysorting tests on Pottermore, both being sorted into the same house as J.K. Rowling: Thunderbird:
Katie Leung is set to star in The Foreigner– a film based on 1992 novel The Chairman, and co-starring Pierce Brosnan and Jackie Chan.
Lastly, Jessie Cave (Lavender Brown) has continued to make videos on her eponymous Youtube channel (here). She also appeared in Call the Midwife, and is set to star in Modern Life Is Rubbish, directed by Daniel Gill, who is known for being assistant Director on Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1.
Hope you’re looking forward to all these upcoming features from our favourite YA Potter actors as much as we are! Be sure to take a look at the adult actor round ups, split into Part 1 (here) and Part 2 (here)!
Rupert Grint recently joined his brother (James Grint, a rally cross driver) in racing a Peugeot 308 GTi uphill at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Before the drive, Rupert says his brother ‘knows what he’s doing’, and remarks that he’s a ‘terrible driver’ (even though he passed his driving test after two tries, and James took three tries).
Regardless of his trust in his brother, Grint pretty much constantly curses the whole way around the track!
On whether there’s any rivalry between the two siblings, both brothers agree, saying that they’re ‘pretty severely’ competitive in ‘everything’, especially go-karting. Rupert even said he’d ‘die behind the wheel’ to stop James beating him, after which James remarks ‘He is dangerous’.

In the latest episode of The Jess Cagle Interview, Daniel Radcliffe talks about working with hugely successful actors such as Alan Rickman, Maggie Smith and Ralph Fiennes in his role as Harry Potter, and reveals a few stories about the late Richard Harris, and comments on being intimidated by Ralph Fiennes!
Dan is told to describe the actors he worked with. He calls Emma Watson ‘smart‘, Rupert Grint ‘funny‘, Maggie Smith ‘sharp as a knife, in a wonderful way … tough and quick witted’, Alan Rickman ‘generous‘ and Michael Gambon ‘out of control, funny, just mad in a great way, again’.
Richard Harris he says ‘The first thing that comes to mind is phoenix, I suppose – there was this one moment where Fawkes, the animatronic phoenix in the second film … Richard thought it was a real bird’
Dan says of Richard Harris’ death:
‘I remember it was devastating, it was so sad … I’d never known a person who had died before so it was crazy. I feel like looking back it’s just one of those things where you just have to go “I am so lucky to have worked with him” – it’s an amazing thing to be able to say now … the films he made are going to be true parts of history, a lot of them, it’s going to be an incredible thing to be able to say that I worked with him.
I’ve spent some time with his granddaughter, Ella, who’s also a wonderful person- his whole family was incredibly sweet to me … I was involved a little bit in a memorial service for him and they were just incredibly kind and warm”
Dan describes Helena Bonham-Carter as ‘nuts, and fabulous … I love her‘
He then calls Ralph Fiennes ‘genuinely intimidating’:
‘I remember when I was 15 doing scenes with Ralph for the first time. He was even scarier than Alan was at first … Alan was super intimidating to start off with as well, but then you get into it, but Ralph genuinely scared me for a few years.’
Dan then imagines working with Ralph on a comedy in the future, and says it was ‘a hell of a learning experience’ to have worked with him.
‘My favourite idea I always had [about] Ginny, that David Yates and I always played on, was that Ginny was this warrior,’ Bonnie told us. ‘That was something I really enjoyed. I was such a tomboy as a girl growing up and I loved that idea you don’t have to be girlie to be a girl.’
She also said that the huge ensemble of characters in Harry Potter is one of her favourite things about the stories:
‘You find something within them all that lives inside you’
The detail of the sets was also one of her favourite memories, Bonnie said she loved being able to pick up a Daily Prophet and actually read it, and really get into acting as a part of the story.
When asked if she had any loyalty to Gryffindor, Bonnie, who is most definitely a Ginny Weasley fan, said:
‘As a strong, devout Weasley, it could only be Gryffindor’
After answering the intricate sorting quiz on Pottermore, Bonnie (to her delight) is sorted… into Gryffindor!:
‘I feel relieved… I feel proud’
Watch her chat with Pottermore below, and watch Rupert Grint’s sorting here:
Rupert Grint as Ron Weasley is what sold many fans on the Harry Potter movies. He was the embodiment of the beloved character of Ron Weasley. He brought many fans’ favorite character to life. Rupert Grint had the honor to play Ron in all 8 films. He loves the world of Harry Potter, and to his amazement the Harry Potter universe is expanding.
Watch above as Rupert Grint talks about his favorite scenes in the Harry Potter films, and answers one of the questions we have all been asking: what house is Rupert Grint officially sorted into?
In his heart he feels he is a Gryffindor, saying,
“Definitely Gryffindor, I think.”
However, Rupert was quick to add,
“I feel like I belong there. But I’ve never been sorted officially.”
Will he be right, or is he a Slytherin through and through?
His sorting comes as a surprise, and a little bit of sadness washes across an entire house of Hogwarts as Gryffindor loses one of the trio to Hufflepuff! Rupert Grint quipped, “oh yeah, no I feel pretty good.”
Rupert Grint brings up one great point, and that is
A new image of Rupert Grint in Adolf the Artist (previously The Artist) has emerged, also featuring Game of Thrones’ Iwan Rheon (below).
Rupert Grint will be portraying August (Gustl) Kubizek, whilst Rheon will be playing Hitler.
Ice Cream Man gives us a synopsis of the upcoming drama:
“Adolf Hitler has been portrayed on screen many times – but never like this! Adolf the Artist is a satirical drama starring Iwan Rheon (Game of Thrones) and Rupert Grint (Harry Potter), telling the little-known tale of a young Adolf, before politics and before war, when all he could dream about was becoming a famous painter. Historically accurate, this imagining of the young pre-tyrant is comedic in its approach and sees him ata crossroads in his life, when “his struggle” was purely about not being a good enough artist. In 1907, an 18-year-old Hitler applied to the prestigious Vienna Academy of Fine Arts, certain that his genious would be recognized. It wasn’t. He resolved to re-apply the following year and moved to Vienna, hopeful that living amongst artists would rub off on him. Not one to let himself go, Hitler found the opium-taking, schnapps-swilling, sexual experimentation of his fellow artists somewhat irritating and as he’d not yet developed into a demagogic ranter, no-one listened. They didn’t have to. Yet. This story follows Adolf in the run-up to retaking the entrance exam, burdened by temper tantrums and an oddball dress sense, and desperately trying to improve as an artist and gain recognition.”
Last Friday, Dan Radcliffe posted an adorable photo to Google+ of the day David Heyman took him, Matthew Lewis and Rupert Grint to a WWF match, two days before Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone started filming.
The photo only included Matt and Dan, but Dan left a lovely message supporting his fellow actor’s role in Happy Valley in the caption:
“Judging by the sign behind us I think William Regal was making his entrance! And judging by our faces we weren’t quite brave enough to boo him. It was very good night! Go watch the brilliant Mr. Lewis in season 2 of Happy Valley on Netflix! Happy Friday everyone! – Dan”
We think you can just about see David Heyman behind Dan – we’re loving their totally enthralled expressions!
Find the original post by Dan here, and catch him in the Now You See Me 2 trailer here.
“We’ve got two episodes to go. We’re going to have quite a lot of revelations in the next episode in regards to Sean and what he’s been up to and why he’s there”
“The problem with him is he’s not quite an alcoholic but he’s well on his way to becoming one and because of that he simply can’t remember a lot of stuff and there are a lot of blackouts in his memory – that’s why we have to piece together this jigsaw.”
You may have noticed the impressive moustache Lewis is flaunting lately. Apparently there are mixed views about it!:
“Funnily enough, no one comes near me when I’ve got this and I don’t know whether they don’t recognise me or because they are terrified of me! I’m not sure which it is, but it’s quite the repellent!”
Finally, Matthew told a story from A Celebration of Harry Potter in January, during which Lewis and Rupert Grint took part in various panels together. Apparently, Rupert had a confession to make!
“I saw Rupert last month – and I’d not seen him for a few years – and we were in Orlando together for the new Harry Potter Wizarding World thing and he told me that he’d been going to this restaurant.
“And I said ‘oh that’s one of my favourite restaurants’ and he said, ‘I know… because I’ve been putting all my food on your tab for the past several months!’
“Apparently when he came in the manager was like ‘oh you’re Matthew’s friend’ and he was like ‘yeah’ and [the manager] said ‘is Matthew picking this up?’ and Rupert said ‘yeah, he told me to come down and said he was covering it’ and it’s been going on my bill ever since!”
Read Matt’s recent interview with The Mirrorhere, and watch a clip from his appearance on This Morning below!
Last week, Rupert Grint made an appearance on French TV show Le Grand Journal, where singer Joyce Jonathan managed to convince him into an impromptu performance of Ed Sheeran’s “Lego House”. Having starred in the music video in 2011, Grint gave it his best shot. Watch the clip below!
Huffington Postand Hollywood Lifehave recently published two cast interviews with Matt Lewis, Rupert Grint, Evanna Lynch and Katie Leung following A Celebration of Harry Potter.
Rupert Grint thinks Hermione and Ron would be separated (if not divorced), none of them would overlook a role in Star Wars, and Rupert thinks Cursed Child made a huge mistake.
First up is Huff Post, and their representative really got the cast talking, giving a great introduction about the importance of breaking out of viewing these great actors as their characters:
“What I enjoy as I sit down to speak with the group is how much these adults are unlike their characters (except for maybe Lynch, who is still delightfully Luna Lovegood-esque). It seems obvious, but we’ve such a tendency to want to lock actors into their iconic roles. It is challenge breaking out of that, especially when you’re remembered as being a cute, or awkward, or weird, or chubby kid on screen. Yet each has grown up, and gone on to other acting gigs and new pursuits.”
This interview gave a broad sweep of the actor’s opinions on Fantastic Beasts, their characters, further roles in big franchises and more!
On giving advice to Fantastic Beasts and Cursed Child cast members:
Matt Lewis: I don’t know how much advice I could ever give anyone. The people who have been cast, as far as I’m aware of, are very, very experienced. They don’t need any advice from me. But I guess just enjoy it. It has been a hell of an experience for me, and everything associated with it: the people, the fans, the environment. It was a good gig to be on! Just enjoy it because there’s nothing else like it, literally in the world. It is unique.
Rupert Grint: I think it’s going to be a very different film, I think. I don’t know much about it, but as Matthew said, just enjoy it. Go with the flow.
Evanna Lynch: I’d say trust David Yates, as well. He always knows better on the film. Sometimes I would go, “Oh, I’m doing terrible, I’m messing up.” He would come along and suggest something tiny, and it would change everything. He is very clever. And he is the one who has transitioned from one to the other. He has the whole picture.
On involving themselves in any large-scale productions again:
Q: This was very much your childhood, and your job growing up. If you had the opportunity now to enter another franchise that would consume multiple years – like Lord of the Rings or Star Wars – would you be reluctant to join that production?
A:
Lynch: No. I loved it. I love the family feel, and the idea you can get deeper into your character over a year. I have been on films that were just three or five weeks, and sometimes I’ve been like, damn, I’d only just started to get into it. It was nice to have something you could develop it, and learn and grow alongside your character. And I just loved the family thing. I got very comfortable there.
Lewis: Hey, if Star Wars come knocking on the door tomorrow, I’m not going to go, “Um no, guys, I’m sorry, I don’t want to do four films, it’s fine.” No, of course not. I’d think about it, and I love Star Wars, etc. But there would definitely be a bit of trepidation in joining a big franchise again for that amount of time. Just simply because I’m really enjoying the diversity of the roles I’ve been given recently. Playing a character is great, but I love the process of finding someone, finding a character, creating and drawing it up. And trying to figure out what makes that person tick. When you do something for however many years, it can start to become – I don’t want to say mundane because it was never boring on the films. But you kind of lose that spark a little bit you get in that first day of school, or on a new job. It is exciting. And I’ve gotten that so often in the last couple years, I’d be reluctant to give that up.
Leung: I kind of agree with Matt. If it goes on for any longer than a certain period of time, you do get really comfortable and feel very safe. Having done all the projects after Potter, it has been a few weeks, a few months for a project. You do really get to know a character, and it is wonderful knowing that, once you stop filming or being on stage and being that character, it essentially dies. So I quite like that. Of course, it depends who the character is you’re going to be playing. But yeah, if it’s Star Wars …
Lewis: Star Wars is welcomed.
Grint: I don’t know. I don’t think it’s put me off. There’s pros and cons. Harry Potter could be at times quite suffocating. It did take up our whole lives. So yeah, I suppose there would be tiny bit of reluctance. Now that I’m out of it, I can see beyond it and it’s nice to have a real life, and do things you want. There’s a lot of freedom in that. But yeah, I think it all depends on the material.
Who knows – maybe a role as another Resistance pilot, or as a key character to unveiling Rey’s mysterious past will come up. Make it happen, Disney!
The Huff Post representative also asked where they’d like to think their Potter characters will be in the future.
As we know, Ron and Hermione were married with two children (Rose and Hugo) at Nineteen Years Later, all of whom attended the 427th Quidditch World Cup in 2014. Ron and Hermione’s relationship seems to be going well – that is, unless you take Rupert Grint’s word for it:
Grint: [laughs] I would expect Ron has probably divorced Hermione already. I don’t think that relationship would have done very well.
Lynch: What?!
Like living in his own, low-rent bachelor pad?
Grint: Yeah. Exactly. He’s living on his own, in a little one-bedroom apartment. He hasn’t got a job.
Lynch: Don’t say divorced. Say they’ve split up. They can reconcile.
Grint: Yeah, they’re briefly separated.
Ron is on Tinder doing horribly…
Grint: Yeah!
Lewis: Living in a one-bedroom studio apartment all alone, doing nothing. He lives in Kings Cross, right in that area.
Evanna took a more career-related view for Luna, and we can definitely see this happening:
Lynch: I think Luna would have an adventure documentary series. She becomes a naturalist, and I think she’d travel the world and have a show. I could be a wildlife narrator.
Like a David Attenborough of the wizard world?
Lynch: Yeah, and she would prove all her creatures exist. Everyone is so dubious of her, and I’d like her to show they’re real.
Anybody else want this to become a mini-series?!
Katie Leung had aspirations for her character – we love her no-nonsense view of Cho:
Katie Leung: I reckon Cho would probably have become a really successful entrepreneur, and really cold and ruthless.
Lynch: Oh my god! [laughs]
[Interviewer] I like this.
Leung: Yeah, she’s cried all the tears she could cry, and now she’s become real cold and heartless.
Lewis: This is dark! I love this!
[Interviewer] What kind of entrepreneur? She runs a tech company? Or a developer who tears down bachelor pads like Ron’s?
Leung: Yeah, yeah, that! Exactly.
Lynch: Oh…
Matthew Lewis bases his on information he received from J.K. Rowling herself, and even works Rupert’s view of Ron into his vision:
Lewis: Oh god. Neville works at the school, right? So he’s a professor, just enjoying that. Maybe he’s trying to get Ron a job, man. And he keeps throwing it back in his face, like, “I don’t need your help, Neville; Jesus, just leave it.” And I’m like, “Come on, it’s fine, we’ll sort it out, just trying to get you back into the fold.” Yeah, him and Hermione don’t see eye to eye because I’ve taken Ron’s side in the relationship, obviously. They’ve got everyone split off, friends wise. I don’t know who you guys chose? Did you choose Hermione?
Lynch: Ron!
Leung: No, Ron.
Lewis: Are you Ron as well? Jeez, Hermione is thin on the ground with friends!
Leung: Well, I’ll go with Hermione, then.
Lynch: I think Ron would need more help. Hermione would handle herself better.
Grint: Yeah, he’s in a bad way.
[Interviewer] But Ron could have a job as a replacement for Mr. Filch
Grint: Yeah!
Lewis: Yeah, I’ll get you in as the caretaker of the school, man. We’ll sort it out. Don’t worry about it.
Grint: Just get me out there. Just get me out of the house.
“No, no. I think it’s going to amazing, that it’s going on, and I can’t wait to see it.”
In a similar vein to his interview with MTV, Matthew Lewis spoke about feeling like his role as Neville was complete:
“I feel like the story arch that Jo wrote and that we tried our best to put on screen was a complete one,”
“I took that journey and finished it the way I wanted to. He will always hold a fun place in my heart, but I don’t feel like there is more that I can do with Neville. I’m happy to leave him.”
Evanna Lynch, however, has something to say about not being cast!:
“I don’t feel that way at all … As happy as I am that they are exploring the universe and that there are new stories in the universe, I’m so angry I’m not a part of it…100% I’d go back and do more.”
So there you have it – Evanna will soon be portraying a Resistance Pilot, the Wizarding World’s very own David Attenborough, and a West End star (kidding, unfortunately).

In an interview with The Huffington Post Australia, Rupert Grint revealed some quite “Ron-ish” qualities about himself when he was asked about a rumor that originated from the set of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. As the story goes, director Alfonso Cuarón had asked Daniel, Emma, and Rupert to write essays about their respective characters–Harry, Hermione, and Ron– in preparation for the film. The actors delivered in a way that was in keeping with each of their characters: Emma turned in a 16-page report, Daniel fulfilled the task with a one-page effort, and Rupert dodged the essay all together. He confirmed these happy similarities in the interview.
“Yeah. That is true, yeah,” Grint said, laughing.
Grint had a pretty good reason to shirk the assignment. As the oldest of the three — then 15 — he’d been preparing to take his General Certificate of Secondary Education exams, a series of standardized tests taken by British students at high school age. (Radcliffe and Watson were a year or two from the tests themselves.) Grint explained that he was too bogged down with his studies to give the assignment much thought.
“It’s quite Ron-ish not to do it,” he added. “I think [Cuarón] kind of appreciated that.”
The interview revealed a selection of other amusing oddities. Grint also confirmed that he does indeed own an ice cream truck and that he will “never get rid of it.” He added, “[Pedestrians] think, rightly, that you are a legitimate ice cream salesman. And they queue up and expect ice cream, which I don’t have.”
At the time of the interview, Grint had also recently heard about the “Ronbledore” fan theory, which posits that Ron is a time-travelling Dumbledore. J.K. Rowling denied this; however, Grint reported that he hasn’t yet formed a theory of his own.
He also spoke about his upcoming film Moonwalkers:
Although he’s stepped out of the “Potter” world, Grint continued to pursue acting, currently starring in a psychedelic space-race flick “Moonwalkers” alongside “Hellboy” star Ron Pearlman. An offbeat story peppered with cartoonish violence, the film indulges conspiracy theorists’ ideas about NASA’s 1969 moon landing. Grint’s Johnny is an ungifted band manager looking to make some cash by conning his way into a CIA plot led by Agent Kidman (Pearlman) to produce fake video footage of men on the moon with Stanley Kubrick.
Something of an armchair conspiracist himself, Grint was naturally attracted to the script, he explained. He considers the famous photo of a flag waving on the moon — a windless surface — particularly suspicious.
“There was a period when I was quite obsessed with it. I’m quite decided that it definitely happened,” he said. “We did land on the moon.”
The interview ended on a bittersweet note, with Grint recalling the days he spent with Emma and Dan: “I loved working with them,” he said, “all those 10 years.”
During the interviews, Grint spoke about working withFantastic Beasts actorRon Perlman – hopefully we can expect to hear more about Ron Perlman on the set of Rowling’s newest screenplay!:
IGN: You and Ron Perlman together is an interesting pairing. He seems like such an intense guy in his onscreen presence. What’s he like to work with?
Grint: I remember first meeting him. He’s such an imposing guy. He’s huge. He’s Hellboy! So I was kind of quite scared. He’s really sweet and hilarious and has so many stories. He’s hilarious and fascinating to be around and he’s really funny as well. You don’t really associate him with comedy but he was cracking us up, especially in that scene where he’s tripping acid. I remember it took us a few takes to get that right.
Much alike his recent interview with IMDb, Grint spoke about the differences of working on a huge budget film like Potter, to working on a smaller film like Moonwalkers:
IGN: Having worked on movies with big special effects sequences, was it fun to do a film where you’re purposefully trying to portray a goofy side to it, with these guys trying to pull this stuff off, bouncing around on wires, out of control?
Grint: Yeah, that was one of my favorite scenes, I think, was messing around with wires in an astronaut suit. We were surprised how easy it is to recreate the moon. It really did look very realistic. It was a very different experience from Harry Potter, but in a way I find it a lot more fun. it’s quite exciting. The story for this whole film is very spontaneous and had this crazy energy where you never knew what was going to happen next or what was around the corner so it was very exciting to work with.
He was also asked about his opinions on Fantastic Beasts and Cursed Child, and no longer being a part of the cinematic (and theatrical) process of building the Wizarding World:
IGN: The first teaser for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them was recently released. Is it interesting for you now, having been a part of Potter for so long, to sit back and observe and just be a spectator?
Grint: It wasn’t a thing I had thought a lot about until now, when things kind of started to move. It’s a weird feeling but also it’s great. It’s an amazing testament to J.K. Rowling that it’s kind of living on even more. It’s exciting. I’m really looking forward to seeing it and it’s going to be really different. It’s a different perspective and a different side to the magical world. I’m looking forward to it. It’s an amazing cast. Ron’s in it – Ron Perlman! It’s very surreal but I’m looking forward to it.
IGN: I imagine it’s also pretty surreal for you that the Harry Potter play is happening. Again, it’s a testament to what Rowling has created, and there will probably be a lot of people that portray these characters down the line, but is it strange for you that someone else is playing Ron Weasley for the first time?
Grint: Yeah. It’s kind of weird. It will be very strange to watch. I’m looking forward to it. it’s very fresh and it feels like a new thing. It didn’t feel like that long ago we were filming the last film. it’s great that it’s living on. It’s all really exciting.
IGN: You’re appearing at and event at the Wizarding World in a couple of weeks in Orlando, and obviously see the fandom has not gone away. I’m guessing there were moments in the middle of it where it was a bit overwhelming. Now, in some ways, are you able to appreciate it a bit more?
Grint: Completely, yeah. When we were filming it, you don’t get a huge sense of that because you’re in that moment and it’s a laborious kind of routine. You get lost in that. Since we’ve finished, it’s really amazing to see how loyal [fans are] and people haven’t really forgotten about it, which is amazing. It makes you feel very proud to be a part of it. It’s great. I’m looking forward to Orlando. It’s great to see everyone still really excited and enthusiastic about it.
Rupert also spoke about the ‘unusual’ type of film Moonwalkers presented itself as, saying that he was surprised by the end result:
IGN: This is a fun, unusual concept. How did they first describe Moonwalkers to you and what was your reaction?
Rupert Grint: It kind of blew me away. It was just ridiculous. I had known about this conspiracy theory before because I’m into all manners of conspiracy and this just seemed like so much fun. I can really see it. I met the director [Antoine Bardou-Jacquet] and he’s crazy himself, very French, and he just had this vision. It was great fun. I was working with two amazing actors, Robert Sheehan, who I’d worked with before, and Ron Perlman, who was great. It was this crazy kind of two months in Belgium. It was good fun.
IGN: The film opens and it’s quirky comedy, but then it gets pretty intense on the action side. Is that appealing to you when a movie can take a quick veer like that?
Grint: I didn’t realize it was that violent until I saw the finished product. At no point was I concerned with how graphic some of the violence is, so it was quite a shock when I saw that. But yeah it just adds to the craziness and stupidity of it. it’s a lot of fun. It’s an hour and a half of mayhem.
During Entertainment Weekly’s interview, Rupert also discussed conspiracy theories, and how Moonwalkers make him feel differently about their plausibility:
“It felt really free and spontaneous,” Grint says. “We had the freedom to do what we wanted. You get that sense watching it that it was fun to make.”
Grint says he’s always been interested in conspiracy theories. Despite Moonwalkers’ obvious farcical aspect, he says it did make him think twice about the real life moon landing. The film, in fact, remains slightly vague about whether the actual moon landing was successful or not.
“The conspiracy was something I’ve always read a lot about, but I kind of dismissed it,” Grint says. “Filming this, it gave me a few second thoughts. Our fake moon was easy to make, and a lot of the film is pretty ambiguous either way. That’s quite a human instinct as well, coming to your own conclusions that not everything you’re told is real.”
“It feels very strange not to be involved in that world anymore,” Grint says. “It’s nice to see it from a different angle. I think both projects are both kind of reinventing it. They kind of feel like their own things, which is really cool. It’s really amazing to see it move on and still be relevant to people.”
Grint, for one, is happy to see the franchise continue to stay relevant even after he has moved on.
“It makes you feel kind of old,” Grint says. “I never would’ve dreamed this. You thought people would just forget about it. I meet new people every day and see that new generations are discovering it. It makes you proud to have had a part in it. I’m really looking forward to the play, and the cast of Fantastic Beasts is amazing. It’s gonna be great.”

Rupert Grint sat down with PopSugar for a lengthy interview. He talked of his new film, Moonwalkers, opening January 15, as well as his role as Ron in the Harry Potter series.
With all of the new projects happening in the Harry Potter universe, Rupert told PopSugar what he thought about Cursed Child and Fantastic Beasts, and how he could initiate Eddie Redmayne into the Potter family. Rupert even joked about weird Harry Potter pickup lines he’s heard.
In Moonwalkers, Rupert works along side Ron Perlman (Hellboy) who will also be taking a role in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Rupert talked of what it was like working with the comedic actor, his character and role within the film, and how much fun he had on set with the cast and crew.
PS: There are so many new things happening with the Harry Potter franchise.
RG: It’s really kicking off, isn’t it? With the play [Harry Potter and the Cursed Child]. It’s amazing and quite surreal . . . to not be a part of it feels weird. I’m definitely gonna see the play. It’ll be interesting: it’s a great story in its depth, and I know it will translate well on stage.
PS: If there was some initiation ritual for the franchise, what would it be?
RG: A few hours on a broomstick, maybe, though I’m not sure if there’s any Quidditch [in the film].
PS: Maybe some sort of Butterbeer drinking challenge?
RG: Yeah, or eating slugs.
PS: How does it feel to have this whole new generation of kids discovering the series for the first time?
RG: It’s a trip. It makes me feel quite old! It’s surreal, but amazing. I feel proud to be a part of it, because the books and films are so important to people. It’s great that it lives on. and people are still excited, and it’s still so relevant.
…
PS: On that note, have you gotten any really amazing or really bad Harry Potter-related pickup lines?
RG: Not so much chat lines, but more innuendo. Things about broomsticks and wandsand “going deep.” You know, “chamber of secrets.” All that. Have you heard any?
…
PS: You might be on to something. What was it like to work with Ron Perlman? He seems like he’d be so intimidating.
RG: It was terrifying. [Laughs] I was so intimidated and nervous to meet him — he’s Hellboy! But he was so sweet, so much fun, and so funny. You don’t equate him with comedy, but he’s hilarious. The scene of our characters tripping on acid took us hours to get through. We couldn’t hold it together.
POPSUGAR: What was your favorite thing about making this movie?
Rupert Grint: It was such a fun film to work on. It was very spontaneous, and nobody really knew where it was going. I loved working with Ron Perlman and Robbie [Robert Sheehan]. Also, being on the moon and wearing an astronaut suit is kind of every kid’s dream. Overall, it was a very unique, special experience.
Rupert Grint recently appeared in a comedy sketch with Tracey Ullman portraying Dame Judi Dench on The Tracey Ullman’s show.
The sketch features a ‘Dame Judi’ and Grint on set, where Ullman’s Dame Judi Dench wrecks havoc upon Rupert’s iPad. You can watch the sketch below:
Rupert also made a rare social media appearance yesterday, when Alchemy and IMDb announced that he would be answering questions from the public through IMDb’s Twitter Account:

A new trailer has been released for Rupert Grint’s new movie, Moonwalkers. This trailer is different than the Japanese trailer, showing new scenes in addition to being in English. The film has been screened at film festivals in France, Japan, South Korea and the USA. According to IMDB, the will be hitting the theaters in January 2016 for France and the USA, as well as this Saturday, November 14th, in Japan.
Hollywood really likes making movies about and or related to Stanley Kubrick. There’s “Color Me Kubrick” with John Malkovich, it feels like every year there’s some Kubrick-related script on the Black List, and this year we have “Moonwalkers” which is about that conspiracy theory that Apollo 11 never actually happened and in reality, Stanley Kubrick, secretly shot the famous images of the moon landing in a studio, working for the U.S. administration.
Set in swinging sixties London, it focuses on a stubborn CIA agent (Ron Perlman a.k.a. “Hellboy“) who can’t find Kubrick but instead is forced to team up with the lousy manager of a seedy rock band (Rupert Grint) to develop the biggest con of all time: staging the moon landing. The film made its world premiere earlier this year at the 2015 SXSW where is was described as a “riotous, high-tempo action-comedy.”
The two leading men, Rupert Grint and Ron Perlman (who will also be starring in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them), can be seen in the trailer below.

The clip features Rupert Grint, Ron Perlman and Robert Sheehan – you can watch it here.
A brand new interview with Rupert Grint was also released on the Facebook page yesterday, which you can see at this link.
The plot of the film is as follows:
“What if Apollo 11 never actually made it? What if, in reality, Stanley Kubrick secretly shot the famous images of the moon landing in a studio, working for the US administration?
This is the premise of a totally plausible conspiracy theory that takes us to swinging sixties London, where a stubborn CIA agent (Ron Perlman) will never find Kubrick but instead is forced to team up with a lousy manager (Rupert Grint) of a seedy rock band to develop the biggest con of all time.”
They have also recently released a new still, again featuring Rupert, Ron, and Robbie:

Den of Geek reports that Rupert Grint is working on a pilot episode for an NBC TV show, where he is set to play a son of a comic book creator. According to Den of Geek,
The pilot has been written by Ugly Bettycreator Silvio Horta, based on an original idea from Secrets & Lies producer Aaron Kaplan. The as-yet-untitled drama has apparently been put together especially for Grint, a life-long comic book fan.
Grint it set to play a character named Rupert, who is described by Deadline as “a low-level New York office drone obsessed with Imperial City, a comic book series his father created before his death.” After owning the first nine issues of the comic book series for his whole life, Rupert finds out that there is a tenth issue and that the world of Imperial City is actually real and that he is the only one who can save it.
The studio behind the idea for the pilot is Warner Bros, with assistance from Silent H Productions and Kapital Entertainment. And as mentioned before, the show is developed by NBC.
As many readers may recall, Rupert was once apart of another TV show project for CBS, called Super Clyde. The show also had a heavy comic book presence, and Grint was to play a slightly neurotic wealthy young man who was a comic book fanatic and wanted to be a super hero, almost like Bruce Wayne. The pilot episode did not get picked up by the network (CBS).
Sohana Collins is not your typical awards-show honoree, but two superstars are presenting her with an award this week– David Beckham and Rupert Grint. Collins is the recipient of a 2015 Pride of Britain Award, a special honor sponsored by the Daily Mirror that celebrates the achievements of Britain’s unsung heroes. The winners are “ordinary” people whose lives have made a positive impact on the nation.
Collins is receiving the Teenager of Courage Award for her inspiring battle with dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa, a frightening genetic skin disease where even the smallest scratch can become a blistering wound. Sohanna writes that it feels like “painful burns that don’t heal.” While the pain from her disease never ceases, Sohana doesn’t let it stop her. At just 13 years old, she has already inspired a foundation, the Sohana Research Fund, to raise money to help others struggling with the same genetic disorder.
At the awards ceremony, Rupert Grint presented Sohana Collins with her award and a special witch’s broom, while David Beckham spoke of how wonderful it was to celebrate “such an amazing young lady.”

According to the site, last year’s fundraiser brought in over 25 million British pounds. You may sign up and donate to support the cause on the charities website. If you are in short supply of baking ideas, Rupert Grint has come to the rescue. Rupert showed his support by contributing a recipe to the site’s baking ideas. The recipe for Rupert’s Stem Ginger and Dark Chocolate Biscuits can be found on the website, here.
“It does look like a snail, actually” Rupert says, as he tries a snail for the first time in this clip:

Fan Expo Canada 2015 took place over the weekend, and details of each panel are slowly being revealed.
Saturday marked the day of the Hogwarts Reunion panel – featuring Tom Felton, Rupert Grint and James and Oliver Phelps – and on Sunday the Harry Potter cast members took part in autograph and photo sessions. The convention was the first fan event that Rupert Grint had attended.
In his own panel on Friday, Tom spoke of his visit to Universal Studios in Japan. Tribute Canada‘s article reported:
‘He mentioned that he did try the butter beer and found it very sweet and felt like he was drinking a thousand calories. He told fans he enjoyed playing Draco, saying, “There’s something about playing a slimy little git that’s fun.”
He said that Rupert Grint (Ron) often got a case of the giggles while filming. He spoke of the transition from Richard Harris to Michael Gambon as Dumbledore, saying it was a smooth one. While Harris had a powerful voice, Gambon had everyone laughing and trying to keep the mood light. Fishing is still a big hobby for Felton, and he has fished by the St. Lawrence River and even in Vancouver. He expressed his love for Canada.’
You can read more about the various panels in Tribute’s article here.
Their article reported that the actors talked about various topics, such as their best and worst memories and characters, and Tom Felton spoke about a conversation with J.K. Rowling regarding Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them:
‘Tom Felton revealed that he spoke to J.K. Rowling about two months ago and tried to get information about Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and while she wouldn’t tell him much, she joked that he and other Harry Potter actors would have background roles.’
SnitchSeeker also gave a list detailing main points from the Hogwarts Reunion panel, which can be read at the end of their article here. The panel sounded brilliant, and one of our favourite moments to read about in SnitchSeeker’s article was:
‘Oliver said his least favourite dead character was Hedwig because on set of the second movie there was a evil owl in the car’.
Videos of the panels will reportedly be released by SnitchSeeker soon, so keep posted at their website here!
‘“We grew up on those sets. We kind of became the people we are today on those sets.”
“My Little Pony. A Brony. The Brony thing.” – On what Rupert would cosplay
“Yeah, I’d never get rid of that. It’s my prize possession.” – Rupert on his ice cream van. He also mentioned he doesn’t drive it around any more because ice cream men can be territorial and he doesn’t want to start a turf war
“I always say Rupert as the next Bond. The world is ready for a ginger Bond.” – From Tom’
Ice Cream Man also published a gallery of photos from the event, featuring the four cast members with various fans. The gallery can be seen here.
