1. Dan Radcliffe Says He Was ‘Genuinely Scared’ of Ralph Fiennes

In the latest episode of The Jess Cagle Interview, Daniel Radcliffe talks about working with hugely successful actors such as Alan Rickman, Maggie Smith and Ralph Fiennes in his role as Harry Potter, and reveals a few stories about the late Richard Harris, and comments on being intimidated by Ralph Fiennes!

Dan is told to describe the actors he worked with. He calls Emma Watson ‘smart‘, Rupert Grint ‘funny‘, Maggie Smith sharp as a knife, in a wonderful way … tough and quick witted’, Alan Rickman ‘generous‘ and Michael Gambon ‘out of control, funny, just mad in a great way, again’.

Richard Harris he says ‘The first thing that comes to mind is phoenix, I suppose – there was this one moment where Fawkes, the animatronic phoenix in the second film … Richard thought it was a real bird’

Dan says of Richard Harris’ death:

‘I remember it was devastating, it was so sad … I’d never known a person who had died before so it was crazy. I feel like looking back it’s just one of those things where you just have to go “I am so lucky to have worked with him” – it’s an amazing thing to be able to say now … the films he made are going to be true parts of history, a lot of them, it’s going to be an incredible thing to be able to say that I worked with him.

I’ve spent some time with his granddaughter, Ella, who’s also a wonderful person- his whole family was incredibly sweet to me … I was involved a little bit in a memorial service for him and they were just incredibly kind and warm”

Dan describes Helena Bonham-Carter as ‘nuts, and fabulous … I love her

He then calls Ralph Fiennes ‘genuinely intimidating’:

‘I remember when I was 15 doing scenes with Ralph for the first time. He was even scarier than Alan was at first … Alan was super intimidating to start off with as well, but then you get into it, but Ralph genuinely scared me for a few years.’

Dan then imagines working with Ralph on a comedy in the future, and says it was ‘a hell of a learning experience’ to have worked with him.

2. Helena Bonham Carter Gives Insight on the Red Queen

Helena Bonham Carter has always been one to take on more anomalous roles in her acting career. The Red Queen definitely does not differ from this pattern. With her abnormally large head and a tendency to order beheadings onto others, the role is one that Helena enjoys quite a bit.

She gave a interview with Den of Geek this week, telling us a little about her return to the role in Alice Through the Looking Glass. While the first movie, Alice in Wonderland, had little focus on Helena’s character, this one will not only show her more in present time but also give us a peak into her past.

And then when the sequel came around, I was just praying it was well-written. And it was. And in a sort of typically Red Queen egocentric way, I thought, “Oh, there’s a lot about me!” [laughs] And it all made sense. And there was lots of things to develop. So it was fun, because she wasn’t necessarily a big part in the first one. So it was nice to have something where you develop something and you work on something quite a lot. And I seriously do…I’m anal about my craft.

Helena Bonham Carter is no doubt one of those actresses who puts everything she can into a role, finding ways to better relate to her characters. She tells that she did a bit of research, using the Alice books, on her character. She seems to understand Iracebeth and her childish anger, “…I thought, “Well, she’s got too big a head.” So everybody’s head that was normal size was always a reminder that hers was abnormal. So that’s why she had to cut everybody else’s head off.”

Another face, or voice rather, from Harry Potter will appear in the film. Alice Through the Looking Glass, which is dedicated to him, is said to be Alan Rickman’s last film. Helena and Alan have worked closely many times before and she had a few words of consolation for those still mourning his passing:

Well, the poetic thing about it is he’s voicing a blue butterfly. And anything that I can tell Rima, his wife, to comfort her, is there’s that quote: “Just when the caterpillar thought it was all over, it became a butterfly.” And often, butterflies…you know, death can be seen as the end. It can also…I don’t know if it’s any comfort, but you can also see that it’s a point of transition.

Give me a moment to wipe my tears…

Wow, okay. On that note, see the rest of the interview here and be sure to get tickets to see Helena Bonham Carter in Alice Through the Looking Glass which comes out this Friday!

3. Helen Mirren: Alan Rickman “Would Be Proud” of Last Movie

Earlier this week, Alan Rickman’s last film, Eye in the Sky, had its UK red carpet premiere. While attending the event, Dame Helen Mirren talked about her beloved co-star, who unexpectedly past away earlier this year from a short battle with late stages of pancreatic cancer.

Dame Mirren said that Alan Rickman would be proud of his last film, and that the film was a “lovely” way to say good bye to the director and actor we love so much. The actress spoke to Female First on the red carpet, saying:

“It’s incredibly sad to have to say goodbye to Alan, not least because he was far too young and he had such great work in him, ahead of him, as you’ll see from his performance in this film, which is fantastic.

“The great thing is, it’s very much Alan on the screen. It’s not him playing one of his amazing characters – it’s Alan as we all knew him and remembered him – so it’s a lovely way to say goodbye.”

“The Alan we see on the screen in ‘Eye In The Sky’ is Alan. It’s Alan as I remember him. His wit, his humanity, his intelligence.

“I think Alan would have been really, really proud for this to have been his last film.”

“Alan was a genius character actor and he could play all these amazing baddies.”

“I’m still in a state of shock about it. I looked at a picture of him just today and thought, ‘I can’t believe that I’m not going to see him again.'”

4. Galaxy Quest 2 Could NOT go on without Alan Rickman

Recently, Alan Rickman’s Galaxy Quest co-star revealed that Amazon was working on a sequel to one of Alan Rickman’s most famous movies. Galaxy Quest is one of Alan Rickman’s must-see roles.

Alan Rickman, who passed away last month after a very quick battle with a late stage of pancreatic cancer, played a key role in the film. Until recently, Amazon was working on a sequel to the film–with the entire original cast on board. With Alan Rickman’s tragic and untimely death, many felt that the void his death created could not be filled. The plans to do the movie fell through.

Sam Rockwell, Alan Rickman’s costar, revealed the plans for a Galaxy Quest sequel on a Nerdist Podcast. Entertainment Weekly reported the details of the podcast:

“They were going to do a sequel on Amazon,” Rockwell said. “We were ready to sign up, and [then] Alan Rickman passed away and Tim Allen wasn’t available – he has a show – and everybody’s schedule was all weird. It was going to shoot, like, right now. And how do you fill that void of Alan Rickman? That’s a hard void to fill.”

One of Rickman’s most beloved roles was Alexander Dane on Galaxy Quest, about a group of veteran actors from a beloved sci-fi show who are mistaken for the real deal by an alien race. EW learned last year that a TV series based on the film had landed at Amazon, though it was in its early stages and it’s unclear whether this sequel project was linked to it.

When asked in 2013 about hope for a sequel of some kind, Rickman said, “They’d need a few zimmer frames.”

You know what they say… Never give up. Never surrender.

The original Nerdist podcast, containing the entire interview with Sam Rockwell, can be listened to here.

6. Watch Alan Rickman’s Final Appearance in ‘Eye in the Sky’

Eye in the Sky was released on March 11th, and reviews have been coming in as positive so far, with 92% on Rotten Tomatoes, and 7.7 out of 10 on IMDB (see below). The war drama stars Alan Rickman as Frank Benson, the superior who gives the go-ahead for a missile assault by a U.S. military drone on Al-Shabaab terrorist allies, and an English women who decided to join them. The film follows the doubts and complications surrounding this decision, and also stars Aaron Paul and Helen Mirren.

Screen Shot 2016-03-29 at 13.33.34

According to Variety in their review from the preview of Eye in the Sky at the Toronto Film Festival back in September, the film has great potential if reviews positively capture the bouts of humour within the war story:

“Director Gavin Hood (“Tsotsi”) and scripter Guy Hibbert (“Five Minutes of Heaven”) resist giving their material the extra push that might have transformed the movie into a flat-out black comedy. But much like “Dr. Strangelove,” the Stanley Kubrick classic it often recalls, this teasingly hard-to-label war story has more than a fair share of scenes that generate explosive laughter — until the laughter catches in your throat. Appreciative reviews and enthusiastic word of mouth, along with op-ed analyses and cable-news punditry, could significantly boost box office prospects and ancillary-platform potential.”

“… Here and there throughout “Eye in the Sky,” Hood and Hibbert sprinkle humanizing character quirks — Benson worries about buying the right doll for his child; the U.K. foreign secretary (a fine seriocomic turn by Iain Glen) is impeded by a bout of food poisoning — to counterbalance the ever-increasing suspense with comic relief. But the humor is far subtler, and much darker, during stretches when the movie is deadly serious”

“…Purely on the level of a crackerjack political thriller, “Eye on the Sky” is hugely entertaining, with razor-sharp editing by Megan Gill suitably amping the tension, and sharp lensing by Haris Zambarloukos effectively contrasting the chilly confines of the interiors and the menace in broad daylight of the exteriors. Production designer Johnny Breedt and special effects supervisor Mickey Kirsten further enhance the overall air credibility of the movie’s depiction of high-tech searching and destroying.”

The film sadly marks Alan Rickman’s final performance after his passing in mid-January, so it’ll definitely be worth watching. See the trailer below, and read the full review here!

8. Eddie Redmayne, Maggie Smith, Julie Walters, Domnhall Gleeson and Stephen Fry at the BAFTA Awards

The 2016 BAFTA Film awards took place in the U.K. last night, at London’s Royal Opera House. Stephen Fry hosted the event, and Eddie Redmayne, Dame Maggie Smith, Julie Walters were also in attendance, with nominations in the Leading Actor, Leading Actress and Supporting Actress categories respectively.

Dame Maggie Smith also got caught on the kiss cam (see below), with none other than Leo DiCaprio! After the initial shock she pulled him in for a lovely hug – probably the most adorable kiss-cam we’ve seen (Stephen Fry called it “a marriage made in heaven”:

Giving a shout-out to Dame Smith in his opening speech, Stephen Fry joked  “If she were any more of an institution, she’d have railings around her!” – we can’t help but agree!

Eddie Redmayne also presented the award for Best Supporting Actress (which went to Kate Winslet). Radio Times caught him on the red carpet, where he spoke about the event’s hype:

“There’s still an adrenaline buzz and an excitement that comes. You give your everything and hope people enjoy it so when you get to these things you hope people have seen the films.”

Screen Shot 2016-02-15 at 22.37.47

They also reported on the winner’s press conference, in which Julie Walters admitted to losing her (expensive) earring:

“Julie Walters has been backstage in the winners press conference, discussing her role in the Brooklyn TV spin-off and the worrying misplacement of her earring on the way up to the stage. Apparently it’s borrowed and worth more than her house!”

Halfway through the evening marked the time for a tribute to huge contributors to the film industry who have sadly passed away, which included a touching tribute to Alan Rickman, featuring clips from Harry Potter, Robin Hood and Truly Madly Deeply.

The award for Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema went to Angels Costumes, who provided costumes for Harry Potter, along with James Bond, Pirates of the Caribbean and Star Wars.

Domhnall Gleeson presented the Best Film In a Foreign Language award, alongside Star Wars costar, Carrie Fisher.

Leonardo DiCaprio gave a shout-out to Gary Oldman in his acceptance speech for Best Actor.

Though Maggie Smith and Eddie Redmayne may not have won Best Actress / Actor (losing out to Brie Larson of Room and Leonardo DiCaprio for The Revenant), Brooklyn – starring Julie Walters and Domhnall Gleeson – won the Outstanding British Film Award, whilst Star Wars: The Force Awakens (also featuring Domhnall Gleeson) won Best Visual Effects – congratulations!

Next up, the Oscars (28th February)! Eddie Redmayne is nominated for Best Actor, his film The Danish Girl is up for Costume Design and Production Design, whilst Julie Walters and Domhnall Gleeson’s Brooklyn is nominated for Best Picture and Adapted Screenplay.

9. New Teasers for ‘Alice Through the Looking Glass’, featuring Alan Rickman and Helena Bonham Carter.

Yesterday, Disney released two new teasers for Alice Through the Looking Glass, in the run-up to the film’s release in May.

The beloved Alan Rickman’s voice is heard in the clips, and the late actor will make his final appearance in the Alice In Wonderland sequel as the voice of the Blue Caterpillar. Helena Bonham Carter also appears in the teasers as the Red Queen, and the Cheshire Cat, voiced by Stephen Fry.

‘You’ve been gone too long, Alice. There are matters which might benefit from your attention’, Alan’s voice drawls ominously in the first teaser. ‘Friends cannot be neglected’.

‘You’ve been gone too long, Alice.’ he says, again in the second Hurry Up clip. ‘There are matters which cannot be neglected… Hurry.’

In this second teaser, Helena Bonham Carter’s ‘Hello, Alice.’ is followed by a very Bellatrix-esque evil laugh, and something that sounds fittingly like a yelled ‘I want her head!’.

The sequel takes place three years after the first instalment – a short summary of the plot is as follows:

“[Alice’s] quest to rescue the Mad Hatter from a heartbreaking end against the pressures of a ticking Chronosphere, a device that powers all of time itself”

See Alice Through the Looking Glass in cinemas from May 27th, 2016. A plethora of Potter actors will be making appearances in the film, which you can read about here. Take a look at the ‘First Look’ trailer below!

12. Alan Rickman’s Viral Video to Help Support Refugees

It has been less than a week since the world was shocked by the news of Alan Rickman’s untimely death. While we still mourn the loss of a beloved and very talented actor and director, we do know we will hear his voice again–at least for a short while–when two of his movie projects (Eye in the Sky and Alice Through the Looking Glass) are released posthumously.

However, one of Rickman’s very last projects completed before his death has been gaining a lot of attention. On December 13, 2015, a little more than a month before he passed, Alan Rickman released a YouTube video with Save the Children and Refugee Council. The hope was for the video to go viral and donations to accumulate to help refugees. So far it has received just over 3 million views.

For Alan Rickman, we can do better than that.

Grab your Kleenex boxes and other brands of facial tissues, for hearing his voice again may reopen your tear ducts. In honor of Alan Rickman, watch the video, possibly make a donation if you are able, and help him fight for a cause that he fought for unto his death.

13. Honoring the Late Sir Alan Rickman

With an extremely heavy heart, we are saddened to report the news that the beloved actor, Sir Alan Rickman passed away this morning, at age 69. His family broke the news, saying that he was suffering from cancer. This news comes as a great shock to those who knew and loved him as an actor.

Having never shared the news of his diagnosis or suffering before, we can only presume that Alan, acting as the “bravest man [we] ever knew” was toughing it out and going along with life as normally as possible.

Alan was known in the Harry Potter family as Severus Snape, but was a hugely talented actor on both the stage and big screen, director and screenwriter. He was known as one of Hollywoods best villains from his roles in Die Hard, Harry Potter, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, and Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (for which he won a BAFTA for his role as Sheriff of Nottingham).

However, we also know Alan to have a more loving, and humorous side. Just a few months ago he was cracking jokes on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. The BBC reports:

But he showed his gentler side in films like 1990’s Truly Madly Deeply, 1995’s Sense and Sensibility and Love Actually in 2003.

He earned Bafta nominations for his roles in Truly Madly Deeply, in which he played Juliet Stevenson’s ghost lover, and for playing Colonel Brandon alongside Kate Winslet in Sense and Sensibility.

He got another Bafta nomination for portraying the calculating Eamon de Valera in 1996’s Michael Collins.

The following year, he won a Golden Globe for best actor in a miniseries or television film for the title role in Rasputin: Dark Servant of Destiny.

His family released a statement, saying, “The actor and director Alan Rickman has died from cancer at the age of 69. He was surrounded by family and friends.” According to the BBC, the Harry Potter family has started to reach out and share their condolences:

Harry Potter actor James Phelps, who played Fred Weasley, said on Twitter he was “shocked and sad” to hear the news. He wrote: “One of the nicest actors I’ve ever met. Thoughts and prayers with his family at this time.”

TV star and Bafta ceremony host Stephen Fry wrote: “What desperately sad news about Alan Rickman. A man of such talent, wicked charm and stunning screen and stage presence. He’ll be sorely missed.”

Sir Alan Rickman will truly be missed. Our hearts, thoughts, and prayers go out to his family at this sad time. Please join us in honoring our beloved Severus Snape, by sharing your condolences and a favorite memory of yours of the actor.

14. Long list of ‘Harry Potter’ actors to feature in ‘Alice Through the Looking Glass’

Alice Through the Looking Glass is set for release on May 27th this year, and will feature many of our favourite actors from Harry Potter!

Alan Rickman is returning as the voice of the Blue Caterpillar, Helena Bonham Carter will once again make a fantastic Red Queen, and Stephen Fry – a fantastic reader of the Harry Potter audiobooks – is bound to impress again as the Cheshire Cat.

All three can be heard or seen (in the case of Helena Bonham Carter) in the trailer below. Timothy Spall will also return, voicing Bayard – the Red Queen’s bloodhound.

Adding to the list of Potter names involved, Toby Jones (Dobby) will feature in the film as the voice of ‘Wilkins’, Frances de la Tour (Madame Olympe Maxime) as ‘Aunt Imogene’ and Rhys Ifans (Xenophilius Lovegood) as the Mad Hatter’s father, Zanik Hightopp.

Ifans speaks about his role, and being on set of the film in an interview (below):

The synopsis of the film (a sequel to the 2010 film Alice in Wonderland) is as follows:

‘Alice Kingsleigh (Wasikowska) has spent the past few years following in her father’s footsteps and sailing the high seas. Upon her return to London, she comes across a magical looking glass and returns to the fantastical realm of Underland and her friends the White Rabbit (Sheen), Absolem (Rickman), the Cheshire Cat (Fry) and the Mad Hatter (Depp), who is not himself. The Hatter has lost his Muchness, so Mirana (Hathaway) sends Alice on a quest to borrow the Chronosphere, a metallic globe inside the chamber of the Grand Clock which powers all time. Returning to the past, she comes across friends – and enemies – at different points in their lives, and embarks on a perilous race to save the Hatter before time runs out.’

A still from the film was released recently and can be seen below, along with the official movie poster.

15. New Trailer for Alan Rickman & Helen Mirren’s “Eye in the Sky”

Alan Rickman (Severus Snape) is starring along side Helen Mirren in a new moral thriller, Eye in the Sky. The story focuses on a hypothetic, too-real situation (though it is not based on a true story) of morality with calling a drone attack on a village to thwart a possible terrorist attack.

Both Mirren and Rickman play military and political leaders, attempting to find the best way to manage thwarting a terrorist attack, after discovering intelligence of the attack through using a miniature insect drone. A secret attack would also be carried out by a drone. The Guardian posted the first UK trailer of the film, which can be seen below:

Earlier this week, the US trailer was posted on Movieclips Trailers YouTube channel:

Eye in the Sky made its debut at the Toronto Film Festival, earlier this year. The film is set to be released in the USA on March 11, 2016, and in the UK on April 8, 2016.

16. Review: Alan Rickman’s “A Little Chaos”

Alan Rickman has had a prolific career thus far, so it should come as no surprise that his new film “A Little Chaos” highlights him as a Renaissance man of sorts. Rickman directed, co-wrote, and performed the role of King Louis XIV in the film. While the review on ithacajournal.com questions some of Rickman’s artistic choices in the screenwriting of the film, it praises his directorial effort and his portrayal of the Sun King:

“A Little Chaos” is clearly a labor of love for Alan Rickman, Winslet’s “Sense and Sensibility” co-star, who not only directed it and co-wrote the script but has a featured role as Louis XIV. He gets passing marks for two of those three tasks. While he’s frankly wonderful as the king — he channels just the right combination of majesty and humanity — and his direction is perfectly serviceable, the screenplay has some disappointing forays into melodrama that the film would have been far better without.

The film has experienced limited theatrical release, but it will be available on DVD on August 4th.

You can read the rest of the review, which awards the film 3/5 stars, here.

17. Alan Rickman talks about his Acting Nerves

Even the professionals still get stage fright. In a recent article from the New York Daily News, Alan Rickman (Severus Snape) talked about the “risks” that come with acting, and why those “risks” are the reason he acts. Rickman said that he gets nervous when taking on roles that are further outside his natural character and comfort zone. Playing King Louis XVI in his new film, A Little Chaos, was one of those more challenging and nerve-racking roles. He talked of the particular challenges that come with playing someone of a different nationality, as well as a different time period. He also discussed roles that he is more famous for–such as his characters in Die HardRobin Hood: Prince of Thieves, The Buttler, CBGB, as well as Severus Snape in Harry Potter. The NY Daily News reports:

‘EVEN THE man who portrayed the formidable Prof. Snape can get frightened.

Alan Rickman feels that way when playing men drastically different from himself.

One of stage and cinema’s preeminent purveyors of complicated characters, he mentions roles like New York music-club king Hilly Kristal in “CBGB,” and President Ronald Reagan in “The Butler.”

One more intimidating part could be French monarch King Louis XIV in “A Little Chaos,” opening Friday, which Rickman also directed.

“It’s always hard when you play someone from a whole other country and background,” says the English actor.

“But real terror, frankly, is standing in the wings of a theater about to go on for three hours, and no one says ‘Cut!’ if you screw up. Being frightened is good, though. Acting should be about risky projects as much as it can be about entertaining. The risk is what makes you want to do it.”

“Die Hard,” a smash hit and one of the greatest action films ever made, was Rickman’s first Hollywood movie. His purring menace and catlike calm made terrorist Hans Gruber memorable.

“That was theater training, I suppose,” he says. “I didn’t play him as bad; as far as I’m concerned, in the film, I’m a great guy! Hans is very polite — he’s warning people he’ll kill them if they don’t do as he says, and he says it very nicely until they piss him off!”

Then came the eight “Harry Potter” films, and Rickman’s fate was sealed. His rich portrayal of Professor Severus Snape earned him a new legion of fans.

“The good news with Snape is that he was a surprise for everybody,” Rickman says. “People think that I knew (the character’s arc), but I didn’t. All I had was a tiny image Rowling gave me that made me know I had to play in two directions at once. But there was something in him that indicated he wasn’t all he seemed.”

The art of creating characters depends, Rickman says, on a balance between order and confusion.’

Alan Rickman talked more of his project, A Little Chaos, which he starred in and directed. He also talks about working with Kate Winslet–her prepared performance and gumption as she filmed through pregnancy. The rest of the article can be read hereA Little Chaos will be released in limited US theaters this Friday, June 26.

18. Alan Rickman on ‘The Tonight Show’

The BBC reported, Alan Rickman appeared on The Tonight Show to ‘confront’ Jimmy Fallon regarding his ‘Rickman-Off’ with Benedict Cumberbatch in 2013. Hilarity ensued as Rickman presented two ‘truth-telling machines’ (helium balloons) to Fallon, leading to them conversing in comically high-pitched voices.

19. First Picture of Alan Rickman in "The Butler"

The first picture of Alan Rickman's (Severus Snape) new movie, The Butler, has surfaced (and can be seen below). As reported previously, Mr. Rickman is playing the role of Ronald Regan in the movie, which follows the life of a White House butler that serves many United States presidents. Mr. Rickman is pictured, dressed fully as Ronald Regan, with fellow cast-members Oprah Winfrey (White House maid) and Jane Fonda (Nancy Regan), as well as director Lee Daniels. The Washington Post reports:

Oprah Winfrey — or whoever manages her Twitter feed — recently tweeted a couple of photos from the set of “The Butler,” the decades-spanning White House drama based on stories written by The Washington Post’s Wil Haygood. While Buzzfeed has focused on the photograph that shows off the age makeup sported by co-stars Winfrey and Lenny Kravitz (who still looks “Are You Gonna Go My Way?”-hot even as an “old” man), what’s more fascinating is the Instagram shot of Jane Fonda and Alan Rickman dressed as Ronald and Nancy Reagan. Even with Winfrey and director Lee Daniels by their sides to shatter the illusion, the resemblance between them and the occupiers of the ‘80s-era White House is pretty striking.

SnitchSeeker sat down with Todd Lincoln, the director of Tom Felton's (Draco Malfoy) new movie The Apparition, and Felton's costar Ashley Green. The Apparition hits theaters this Friday, August 24. Ashley Greene also costars with Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley) and Alan Rickman (Severus Snape) in CBGB. Both Todd Lincoln and Ashley Greene talked about working with Tom Felton. Ashley also talked about acting along side Alan Rickman and meeting Rupert Grint.

Todd Lincoln: His audition was a very bold, effortless, iconic kind of audition. He was great with a lot of the technical terms and on his own he was interested in the paranormal. He watched all these ghost hunter shows and he loves this stuff. And I’d seen him grow as an actor and a person in the Harry Potter films, and he wanted to do something very different and I thought it was cool, this idea of a younger savvier guy being more the leader/expert character with this experiment in this film instead of doing the typical, “Okay, here’s the older character actor that you’re going to bring in and pay a lot of money to for two days.” It just seemed like a fresher choice.

How was it working with Tom Felton, since he’s Harry Potter and you’re Twilight?
Ashley Greene:
Oh, he’s so sweet. He’s really lovely and it was great. I think he’s a really fantastic actor. He was just very fun to be around. It’s an interesting thing whenever you come from two franchises like that. We chatted a little bit about the madness of it all ... lots of screaming people. And just the intensity of it all, the kind of zero to sixty of it was what we talked about. Coming from not really doing much and then becoming a part of a book series and then it just exploding and becoming this snowball effect. And chatted about how you become family with these people.

24. Warner Bros. Hosts Harry Potter Luncheon in NYC with Dan Radcliffe, Alan Rickman Present

The Hollywood Reporter was present on Monday when Warner Bros. hosted a luncheon to celebrate the Harry Potter franchise at Club 21 in New York City. In attendance at the luncheon were Daniel Radcliffe, Alan Rickman, director David Yates and producer David Heyman.

Video of Yates and Heyman making remarks about the Harry Potter series during the luncheon can be seen below:

THR also spoke to Radcliffe prior to the luncheon where he talked about his feelings now that Potter is behind him and the adjustment to life in the public eye. Audio of the interview along with a full transcript is available here.

What are your feelings now that it has all wound down?
Daniel Radcliffe: Well, you know, I think my feelings are that the series is, kind of, its own commemoration -- I mean, to me at least. I won't be able to look at any of these films without remembering what they did for the British film industry at a time when it wasn't doing great -- it's now flourishing, but in the early half of the decade, you know, there was nothing happening, and films were closing, and Potter was the only, kind of, sure-thing happening in England. And, you know, my memories of it are incredibly nostalgic, and romantic, and, I think, how everybody views their teenage years, you know: with complete idealism, having forgotten that there was ever any, you know, hormonal rage or any of that kind of stuff. You know, I had a moment the other day of actually really missing it for the first time since, of going, "God, I miss those people!" But, yeah, I mean, it's been over a year now, and I've been having this amazing year here, so it's been a great first year away -- may they all be this good!
