10. SDCC ’15: Archie Comics: Riverdale on CW, Vampironica returns, and all-star crew on New Riverdale Comics

Archie Comics has exploded onto the mainstage of the comics world in the last few years, just as many thought they were a relic of the golden age. Series like Life With Archie and the enormously popular Afterlife with Archie, along with the introduction of the openly gay character Kevin Keller a few years prior, introduced these characters to a new generation in a surprisingly mature and modern way. At Comic Con today in a packed room full of fans, we got a glimpse at what is coming up for the progressive company and it’s growing band of creators.

Perhaps the biggest news to come out of the panel is the announcement that the long talked about Riverdale TV series will not be on Fox, but will premiere on CW. This came out of working through Greg Berlanti, who will be producing the show. This begs the question about the tone of the show, which previously sounded a bit like Twin Peaks in its adult and surreal nature, but now is being compared more to Glee. “It has a lot of music in it,” said Robert Aguirre-Sacasa, Archie’s Chief Creative Officer. They also mentioned that Josie and the Pussycats will play a big role, as well as Kevin Keller. Veronica Fish did some excellent promo art for the show, and will hopefully be working on a high profile comic soon, the publishers teased.

Archie #1 by Mark Waid and Fiona Staples

Archie #1 by Mark Waid and Fiona Staples

Four of the main creators involved in the New Riverdale group of books were onstage in Mark Waid (Archie), Chip Zdarsky (Jughead), Dan Parent (Kevin Keller) and Adam Hughes (Betty and Veronica). Waid said of the whole crew, “No one’s setting an iron-clad continuity that we have to fall into, we’re just enjoying what we’re all doing,” and that they are all sort of riffing on each other to create this new Archie universe. The first issue has been getting good reviews all around, and Waid teased that although Veronica shows up a little in issue two, but will be “like a wrecking ball” in issue three. He also noted that he felt like it was important to put Betty in that awkward phase that many girls go through when they transition from being “one of the boys” to being looked at differently by the men in her life–Fiona Staples, who is drawing the book, provided a lot of input on that part of the story.

Jughead #1 by Chip Zdarsky and Erica Henderson

Jughead #1 by Chip Zdarsky and Erica Henderson

Zdarsky talked about how he got involved with the forthcoming Jughead book that he is writing, saying he asked to do a variant for Archie #1 and then really wanted to get involved with New Riverdale: “Do you need someone to staple the comics?” he jokingly asked. Apparently, he had done an art project in school that involved building a 3D Archie panel around his head, with himself playing the role of Jughead, so his fandom of the character is nothing new. Zdarsky’s take on the iconic burger-eater is that “he’s a bit like me: he’s smarter than everyone in the room, but doesn’t feel like he has to show it.” Jon Goldwater, CEO and Publisher of Archie Comics, said that the book, which comes out on October 8th, is “really, really funny.” The book sounds like it will be the most irreverent of the group, with Jughead using his daydreaming imagination to figure things out, which involves the Superteens and more fantastical elements.

Hughes’ take on Betty and Veronica is the least developed so far, as he has only just begun to work on it. “Betty and Veronica are two characters I never thought I’d be allowed to work on,” Hughes said. The book will aim to be “a laugh riot,” and Hughes says he’s thrilled to be able to write and draw these iconic characters. Dan Parent showed some early pages from the new Life with Kevin Keller series as well, revealing that he will be living on his own and a little older now, which Parent notes means “the sky’s the limit” for the character.

Vampironica Cover by Francesco Francavilla

Vampironica Cover by Francesco Francavilla

Aguirre-Sacasa loosely announced a new title in the horror line that Francesco Francavilla will in some way be a part of that “may or may not” be called Vampironica. which included teasing a beautiful cover by Francavilla featuring a Vampirella-looking Veronica in a graveyard within a silhouette of Jughead. As if that wasn’t exciting enough for Archie Horror fans, the audience was treated to a preview of Afterlife with Archie #9, which focuses on Reggie and the guilt he feels for his part in causing the zombie apocalypse. For at least one page of the issue, Francavilla and Aguirre-Sacasa take a Goofus and Galant approach in an Archie and Reggie sequence. There were strong hints that something bad will happen to Reggie when the issue releases in a month or so.

Coming up for the Afterlife with Archie series in #10-12 involve the whole Riverdale gang stumbling onto a farm that seems untouched by the apocalypse. Unfortunately, it may not be the paradise it seems as the gang starts to notice that no one here is over 18–and Betty’s 18th birthday is coming up soon. Said by Aguirre-Sacasa of working with Francavilla: “It’s an auteur book, and the auteur is Francesco.”

Archie vs. Sharknado One-Shot Variant Cover by Francesco Francavilla

Archie vs. Sharknado One-Shot Variant Cover by Francesco Francavilla

In other news for the horror line, Aguirre-Sacasa promises that issue #4 of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is “the creepiest book we’ve ever done.” That issue involves the Riverdale gang arriving in Greendale to assist in the search for Sabrina’s missing boyfriend, Harvey. This first arc ends with issue five, while six will be a one-shot story that explores Salem the cat’s medieval origins, and seven starting the Witch War arc in which the witches of Greendale and Riverdale square off.

In the longstanding tradition of ridiculous crossovers, the publishers talked a bit about the newest to join the ranks in Archie vs. Sharknado, which comes out in time for Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No. Anthony C. Ferrante, director of all three Sharknado movies, wrote the one-shot comic, and talked about how fun it was to put together. “I fell in love with some of the characters, so I couldn’t kill them off!” he noted.

11. Entertainment Round-Up: The Flash Season 2 may bring new speedsters, another Crow is cast, Batman’s role in Suicide Squad revealed?, and another returning character for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

reverse-flash-cw-image-404x600

It was a slow news weekend on the entertainment front these past few days, but here are the the headlines that grabbed my attention in the past 48 hours:

– Both of the casts and creative teams for The Flash and Arrow were on hand at PaleyFest over the weekend. Nothing really earth shattering was announced, but there were a few teases that might excite fans, particularly for The Flash. According to TVLine, Greg Berlanti has hopes that they’ll tackle Wally West or Bart Allen, though no sooner than Season 2. They also hinted that the series will be adapting a major Flash comics storyline soon. Flashpoint, Crisis on Infinite Earths, or a meld of the two seem the obvious answers there, but who knows?

James O’Barr‘s The Crow is getting another shot at the big screen, directed by Corin Hardy, and according to O’Barr, the film has already found its lead (per Dread Central):

O’Barr said that “Jack Huston has definitely been cast,” that he was “really happy with that choice,” and that the film “will shoot in a couple of months.” He also said the film will essentially be a straight adaptation of his original graphic novel, which differs quite a bit from the (still awesome) 1994 Brandon Lee vehicle.

Jack Huston is a fan favorite from Boardwalk Empire, so this makes for a fairly compelling choice. Whether or not the world needs another Crow film…I’ll leave that up to your discretion.

- The folks over at Latino Review have really been nailing the Suicide Squad news over the past week, dropping some choice tidbits about Jared Leto‘s Joker before the weekend hit. Now they have a few details regarding Batman’s appearance in the David Ayer directed ensemble picture:

According to sources, in the film Batman is some sort of big boogeyman that the government REALLY hates. Get this, prior to the events in #BatmanvSuperman, THE JOKER is the only one to really ever meet him or know him and that’s why he’s so important to Amanda Waller. They have footage of Batman in action which they watch. There is a bit of dialogue where they say Batman is the key to tracking down all “the supers.” Very cool stuff.

- I never find myself terribly excited about Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. for a number of reasons that have been covered by enough people, but it was pointed out to me this morning by Hannah that in the most recently released episode synopsis, Lucy Lawless‘ Isabelle Hartley is coming back:

“One Door Closes” – War comes to Coulson’s doorstep in a way he never anticipated as shocking revelations are brought to light, and Skye struggles to control her new abilities but will soon make a decision that irrevocably changes her life, on “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” Tuesday, March 31 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET) on the ABC Television Network.

“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” stars Clark Gregg as Director Phil Coulson, Ming-Na Wen as Agent Melinda May, Brett Dalton as Grant Ward, Chloe Bennet as Agent Skye, Iain De Caestecker as Agent Leo Fitz, Elizabeth Henstridge as Agent Jemma Simmons, Nick Blood as Lance Hunter and Adrianne Palicki as Bobbi Morse.

Guest starring are Henry Simmons as Alphonso “Mack” Mackenzie, Lucy Lawless as Isabelle Hartley, Edward James Olmos as Robert Gonzales, Jamie Harris as Gordon, Christine Adams as Agent Weaver, Kirk Acevedo as Agent Calderon, Cornelius Smith, Jr. as Case, Sai Rao as Susanna, Mackenzie Astin as Tim Maguire and Rick Otto as lead Hydra agent.

So, in other words, the pattern of no one ever actually staying dead in the Marvel Cinematic Universe continues, then again, I guess that’s pretty true to the comics.

12. The Secret Circle 1.05: "Slither"

This episode opens with Nick getting Melissa up from bed to go to school. She claims she has a headache and Nick tries to wake her up. She throws him off him and apologizes but she doesn't feel well. She turns and we see the snake demon under her skin. ICK!
Cassie and her Grandmother talk about what happened the night before when Heather got hit by the car. Grandma tells Cassie that Heather and Amelia were good friends growing up. Cassie evades any questions about the night before, but reveals she was with Faye and Diana. Grandma is happy Cassie is making friends. She tells Cassie that she can open up to her about anything and Cassie just leaves. RUDE!

At school, Melissa is twitchy and doesn't understand why. Diana and Cassie talk about the previous Circle being spell bound from the 'Elders' so she doesn't want Cassie talking to her Grandmother about their Circle.

In Dawn's office she talks to Charles about Heather. They make plans to meet that night under the Blood Moon so they can attempt to get their powers back to protect the kids.

In the hallway, Diana informs Faye that their parents are dating, she is not pleased.

Melissa is at her locker and does a flip out against them. (We can assume possession?) Nick helps demon-Melissa up and she tells him that she needs his help digging up her family's Book of Shadows in the woods. She says it will be their secret. Later that night, Nick digs up a suitcase under Melissa's supervision.

At dinner, Cassie and Grandma are having awkward conversations. They find Amelia to be a common ground. Cassie asks why Amelia left and Grandma says that she was never honest with her and she wishes she could have helped. Cassie gets a text and rushes out on dinner.

At the witch house, Faye arrives after Melissa calls her there. Nick is confused because he thought it was supposed to be their secret. Melissa reveals she was using Nick to dig up the case so that Faye and her can share the book. Demon-Melissa is awkwardly sensual with Faye and tells her that nothing can come between them.

At the docks, Dawn and Charles cast a spell under the Blood Moon to gain power back in their crystals. They are unsuccessful.

At Diana's house, Adam and her share a home cooked meal. A whipped cream fight ensues and soon enough they are in the bedroom. Oh-lala!

Cassie arrives at the house and Demon-Mel informs them that they need the whole circle to get the case open. Cassie wants to open it and Demon-Mel goes all deep voice and creepy. Cassie calls Adam and Diana to see where they are. The suitcase is moving on its own and Cassie asks what is in the suitcase. They see the snake-demon inside Melissa's head. Faye, Nick, and Cassie figure out that the demon i

13. The Vampire Diaries Episode 3.05 Recap: "The Reckoning"

Recap by Jess
THIS WEEK'S EPISODE SEEMED TO HAVE CHANGED EVERYTHING! The way last weeks episode ended we knew we were in for something crazy this week! There was no room for disappointment.

Matt
Matt is alone working out in the very dark high school and he keeps hearing these sounds, so he goes to investigate, he thinks he hears something from a classroom and enters, and to his surprise, lots of mousetraps go off and there is a very displeased Caroline. Surprise Matt, it's senior prank night! Honestly? How could you forget senior prank night?

Elena
Elena heads off on her own so she can glue Alaric's desk shut, but she doesn't quite make it there. She rounds a corner...hello Klaus. Klaus drags Elena down the halls of her school into the gym, where he sends everyone away, except for two humans he wants to play with a little bit.

Damon and Katherine
Damon pulls over the car, then throws the keys away and demands answers from Katherine. She tells him she has the necklace Klaus is looking for...it's leverage. She also has a plan...and it includes Jeremy who is unconscious in the trunk.

Everyone minus Caroline and Stefan
Elena and Klaus are in the gym, waiting seemingly for Bonnie and Matt to enter, and when they do, Klaus lets Bonnie know that it is her fault that Elena is still alive, and that caused a problem for him, so she needs to fix it. After Rebecca took down Caroline she dragged Tyler into the gym to join the pow-wow. Klaus explains that he needs his hybrids to work and they don't because they always die in transition. Klaus feeds Tyler his blood and snaps his neck. Bonnie needs to work fast.

Katherine, Damon and Jeremy
Katherine knows that Klaus is running from someone, and Katherine's friend Pearl knows who, Damon points out that Pearl is dead, Katherine says that she only ever told one person, and that was her daughter...Anna. Damon points out that she is dead, too. But...he doesn't know that Jeremy can contact the dead.

Klaus, Elena and Stefan
Elena and Klaus are in the gym and Stefan enters. He comes to pledge his allegiance to Klaus and tell him that he will do whatever he wants. He also throws in that Elena means nothing to him at all anymore. As Elena is telling Stefan that Klaus wont hurt her, he back hands her and she ends up on the floor and Stefan attacks Klaus. So much for Stefan not caring! Klaus compels him to stop fighting him and simply obey everything he says. Then he goes on to kill the two innocent kids Klaus kept to play with.

Damon, Katherine and Jeremy
They are waiting for Jeremy to contact Anna. Finally she appears for him, but she doesn't want to help until....Damon bashes Jeremy's head off of a picnic table...Anna still cares about Jeremy. She reveals that the information they are looking for is...Michael...a vampire who hunts vampires. And it would be a very bad idea to wake him up.

14. The Secret Circle Epsiode 1.02 Recap: Bound

The episode opens with Cassie reading her mother's letter again and also reading through the book she found that gives background on her family. Cassie gets up and tries to light a candle on the fireplace, she doesn't think she can do it but keeps trying by saying, "give me light." The curtains behind her open and bathe her in light.

After the intro, we are in Nick's bedroom where him and Melissa just finished sleeping together. She tells him to keep their thing a secret and leaves. Nick, shirtless, looks out his window at Cassie. She gets frustrated and breaks his window with her mind and runs from the room.

We then go to Faye's house where the unexpected arrival of her grandfather shocks her and her mother. Dawn is not too happy and grandpa knows it.

At school, Cassie is confronted by the class president, Sally Matthews. She ropes Cassie into helping her with the 'overwhelming' school spirit tasks that rest on the shoulders of the overachievers. Faye interrupts them and pulls Cassie aside to thank her for stopping the storm. She tries to get Cassie on her side about NOT binding the circle. Cassie gives attitude and leaves Faye alone looking after her retreating figure.

Dawn calls Charles about Henry (her father in law). She tells Charles that she doesn't trust Henry because he thinks that she had something to do with Tom's (her dead husband's) death.

In chemistry class, Faye messes with her and Cassie's beakers. Cassie gets angry and they end up exploding and she runs out of the room. Adam runs after her and catches her in the hallway. She confides in him that when she gets mad things happen. She wants to stop it and he offers to help her.

Adam and Cassie are in the creepy house and he reiterates that they have to keep their circle a secret. He tells her that Diana found her mother's Book of Shadows and that's the only information they have so far on their powers. He tells her that witchcraft is forbidden because of the accident, and lists off who lost who in their families. He tells her the official story that the teens were on the boat and there was a fire. Diana thinks that it was because their circle wasn't bound. He is trying to get her on his and Diana's side about binding the circle so that they can use their power correctly.

Ethan talks to Henry about what Ethan did to him. Henry says that it is impossible but it happened. Henrey inquires why he was a target and Ethan tells him that he was talking to Cassie but it was harmless.

Faye, Melissa, and Diana catch up together and Diana pleads her case again with Melissa on her side. Faye is still against it because she wants to enjoy her powers even though it is dangerous.

15. The Vampire Diaries Episode 3.03 Recap: "The End of the Affair"

Recap by Jess

Damon and Katherine
No, not literally Damon and Katherine, Katherine makes a call to Damon, to see what has been going on in Mystic Falls. She knows where Stefan and Klaus are but she doesn't feel the need to share naturally.

Stefan and Klaus
They arrive in Chicago, a place where Stefan seems to have a vibrant past. FLASHBACK MODE! (I believe it's sometime during the twenties or thirties) Stefan is killing this girl in the back of a buggy, though not very classy, Stefan seems to enjoy it. He enters a club and runs into a beautiful blonde woman, who informs Stefan, "You're still wearing your date, she's lovely." I thought it was witty. :) PRESENT DAY! Klaus informs Stefan Chicago is magical, but Stefan says he doesn't remember a lot of it.

Damon and Elena
Elena is woken by Damon who is laying in her bed while she was sleeping...hey I'd be alright with that. ;)Once she gets over her shock of Damon being in her bed, he tells her to get ready, they are going to Chicago to bring Stefan home.

Caroline
Poor Caroline. She is still all captured and stuff, tied to a bolted down chair. Being held captive by none other than Daddy Dearest. Her dad finds that she can only walk in the sunlight with her ring, he kindly removes it. He plans to condition her by letting sunlight hit her to "fix" her. He wants her to not want blood.

Elena and Damon
Road trippin' it up to Chicago. Damon gives Elena Stefan's diary from his first stint in Chicago. And....FLASHBACK! Back in the club, Stefan and his friends are scolded for being too loud by the beautiful nameless blonde. Later...Damon and Elena are in Stefan's old apartment from the 20's he stayed in. Elena finds a very long list of names, names of Stefan's victims.

Stefan, Klaus and Gloria
Back in present time, Klaus and Stefan go to the very club that he was in all that time ago, and meet with Gloria, a very powerful witch, who was from the same time period Stefan was last in Chicago. Magic works wonders apparently! Klaus and Gloria talk, and to find out what Klaus is doing wrong so he can create his hybrids, Gloria says she needs a woman named Rebecca. Klaus says that Rebecca is preoccupied, which is too bad, because Gloria needs Rebecca. Stefan finds a picture...very interesting, it is a picture from the past of Stefan and Klaus together, looking very friendly.

Klaus and Stefan
Stefan wants information on the photo he found, and Klaus goes into a story! FLASHBACK! Stefan and blondie are feasting upon a nice little lady, and Klaus steps in and pulls Blondie...excuse me...Rebecca away from Stefan. Rebecca and Klaus are brother and sister. Both of them Originals. PRESENT DAY! Back in a warehouse, Stefan po

16. The Secret Circle Episode 1.01 Recap: Pilot

The series opening is on a dark road. A car swerves toward another car causing it to get a flat tire. The young girl with the flat is Cassie Blake. She pulls over and the other car drives away. She calls her mom and tells her not to worry and insists that she knows how to change her own tire. We see her mother at home in the kitchen. A car pulls up to the house, the same one that made Cassie get a flat. A man exits the car and pulls some matches out. He lights them and drops them. Inside the kitchen starts on fire, Amelia (Cassie's mother) frantically tries to put the fire out, but the man outside seems to be causing more and more fire to appear in the house. Amelia is burned alive inside the home.

A month later, Cassie goes to live with her grandmother, Jane Blake, in Chance Harbor, WA. Jane is pleased to have Cassie there. That night Cassie is in her bedroom and sees her cute male neighbor shirtless in his room across from hers. She shuts the curtains, but then they open back up on their own. She is a bit freaked out so she goes to bed.

The next day at school, Cassie is introduced to Principal Chamberlain who says she was a friend of Amelia's and if Cassie needs any help she is available. In the hallway, Adam asks Nick if he's "seen her" yet, Nick says "she" arrived yesterday. Adam and Cassie share a moment when their eyes meet. Cassie struggles with her locker and two girls approach her. They share a weird moment and the girl tells Cassie to try again. She then opens her locker successfully as the girls walk away. Another girl comes up to Cassie, this is Diana, she tells Cassie that the girl from before is Faye. She tells Cassie that everyone hangs at The Boathouse after school and invites her along.

Later in the afternoon at The Boathouse, Cassie is the first to arrive. We find out Adam's father owns the restaurant/bar. Adam's father recognizes Cassie and apologizes for her loss and tells her that he loved Amelia when they were younger. He says their families were destined to be together. Adam interrupts and tells his father to stop drinking before dinner.

Cassie takes a seat and Adam brings her a menu and asks about her first day of school. He leaves and Faye and Melissa sit at the booth with Cassie. They ask about Cassie and trade a strange conversation. Faye tries to push Cassie into admitting she likes Adam, and Cassie is uncomfortable enough to leave. She goes to her car and Faye telepathically makes the engine smoke and doors lock. Cassie freaks out and Adam comes to her rescue. He takes her home. They share more adorable flirty moments but Cassie steers the conversation to his and Diana's relationship.

Later that night, Diana confronts Faye about what she did. Faye tells her that with Cassie there they all have more powers. Diana tries to control the situation but Faye is excited at the prospect of more power.

Cassie goes to bed and looks up at the sticker stars on the ceiling and sees them move, freaking her out even more than before.

17. The Vampire Diaries Episode 3.02 Recap: "The Hybrid"

Recap by Jess

Klaus and Stefan
Poor Klaus, he wants so badly to build his vampire/werewolf hybrid slaves...my mistake, "Not slaves -- soldiers. Comrades." as Klaus so gently puts it. He brings a still dead Ray Sutton to a werewolf pack, in the middle of the woods of course! and Ray wakes up, into the transformation period of turning into a vampire. His pack starts freaking out...then someone is forced to give Ray human blood so he doesn't die...it should turn him into a perfect hybrid...Klaus doesn't wait to find out before turning the entire pack into hybrids...only something goes freakishly wrong, and they all pretty much turn into werewolf/vampire zombies. They also bleed from the eyes which in my book is very creepy unless it's from vampires in True Blood. :P

Tyler
Tyler talks to his mom in the morning after Caroline was shot down by her (that's what she gets for sneaking out in the middle of the night! Shame on her!). He drinks vervain coffee and notices a flavor difference but doesn't know why it tastes off.

Matt and Jeremy
At Mystic Grill, they talk about how Jeremy really does see Vikki, ever since he was brought back from the dead using magic! It's time to contact Vikki from beyond the grave and find out why she asked Jeremy for help (Episode 1)!

Tyler and Elena
At the Mystic Grill, talking about werewolves, and Elena's certainty that Stefan is with Klaus who must be with the werewolf pack. Now where would this werewolf pack be? In the woods of course! A nice mountain range to be exact.

Tyler
Tyler is at the Mystic Grill, orders a coffee there, and Matt informs him that there is vervain in the coffee.

Elena, Rick and Damon
Walking through the woods! Trying to find the pack of werewolves! Doesn't make too much sense to me, you know, Elena and Rick being human and all. Elena begins to tell Rick he's not a lost cause when tada! Here's Damon! He pushes her into the water she was looking at, apparently she looked like she wanted to swim. Damon questions why she would want to go after Stefan who is surrounded by a pack of werewolves, and Klaus, who thinks she's dead! They argue about it for a little, and Elena wins another battle to one of the Salvatore brothers. SHOCK! :)

Stefan
Stefan sees and hears Elena, Damon and Rick while he is pursuing runaway zombie hybrid, Ray Sutton. Klaus comes up behind Stefan and Stefan tries to lead him away from where Elena, Damon and Rick are, Klaus asks where Ray is and Stefan tries to just get Klaus to forget him, but no. Stefan was bitten by Ray and has a werewolf bite, Klaus says "I'll tell you what, you find Ray, then I'll heal you."

Klaus
Klaus walks back to find all his hybrids waking up and starting to transform into what ray is, a zombie hybrid!

Tyler and Mrs. Lockwood
Tyler is at home to see mother dearest and he accuses her of putting vervain in his coffe, and he asks why. They identify that Caroline is a vampire or a monster in Mommy's eyes, boo! Go vampires! :) Tyler insists his mother come with him, to prove that if Caroline is a monster, she hasn't seen nothin' yet! Fancy that...it's a full moon. It's high time that Mrs. Lockwood f

18. The Vampire Diaries Episode 3.01 Recap: "The Birthday"

Recap by Jessica

The season premiere of The Vampire Diaries starts out in Tennessee with a woman calling for her dog, and Klaus comes walking up, asking to use the phone because his car broke down up the road and the woman is very obviously suspicious but Klaus talks his way into the woman's house. Once inside the house, there is another woman inside, and she begins to run when she finds that Klaus is looking for Ray Sutton, but Stefan is the ever so faithful back-up.

The girls finally admit to knowing where he is but Klaus can't just let them go and this is where we see that Stefan is not the same old Stefan but a monster. Klaus gives the order to kill the girls, one quickly and making the other one suffer. Klaus saunters away from the house with screams coming from it.

Elena wakes up to a bright bedroom in a seemingly solemn mood, she walks to open the curtains and it turns into her opening Jeremy's curtains much to his disdain and lets him know he's late for work and Elena walks from the room and Jeremy looks mentally exhausted.

Caroline and Elena are on the phone talking about her 18th birthday party that is planned for that night. Caroline also mentions that her mom found out there was another 'animal attack' in Memphis, and it could be a lead to Stefan and Klaus. Elena is determined to track down Stefan and find him. She is desperate to know that he is alive.

Elena and Alaric talk about the possibilities that Stefan is either dead or working with Klaus. Elena checks with Alaric to make sure he's still okay sleeping on the couch because there are two open bedrooms in the house, of course one is Elena's dead parents room, and the other is Alaric's dead girlfriends room.

Damon is drinking champagne in the bathtub while his girlfriend gets ready for work, they are also talking about the possible whereabouts of Stefan. Damon gets out of the tub, covered in bubbles and walks downstairs to get more as Elena is walking through the house. Damon appears behind her and she turns around and jumps then quickly turns back around when she finds that he is naked. Damon says; "Hey, you should learn to knock, what if I was... indecent." with his Damon smirk.

Elena gives him the info on the new Stefan lead in Memphis and Damon amends that he will go check it out and Elena should not because Klaus thinks she's dead and it should be kept that way.

Jeremy is video chatting with Bonnie while he's at work talking about having a little normal in his life, as the lights flicker on and off. Jeremy rushes Bonnie off the phone. The lights flicker off again and when they come back on Vicky is standing in front of him then Anna is behind him.

Caroline and Tyler eat lunch at the Mystic Grill and Matt asks Jeremy to switch sections so Matt doesn't have to see Caroline and Tyler together.

Now at the Southern Comfort Bar, we meet Ray Sutton, where Klaus finds him with Stefan as back up of course. Klaus wants to know where Ray's pack of werewolves are and when Ray isn't willing to give the information, they decide to play Truth of Wolfs bane. Everyone in the bar is compelled to see nothing.

Damon and Alaric go to Memphis to check out the lead on Stefan and find the two women in pieces then put back together, which apparently is Stefan's trademark.

Caroline, Tyler and Elena are getting ready for Elena's party talking about Damon shutting Elena down when it comes to looking for Stefan. There is some HUGE sexual tension and they tell each other about how being a vampire and a werewo
