Necrotic Tissue finally bit.
They bought my 100-word story 'Bug Eyed' for their 100 word bites. It will be published in the January 2009 issue, which will be available as a free PDF download.
And while you are waiting for my wondrous story, check out Issue 3, which contains Natalie L. Sin's, Losing Face in Kwai Chung. The story inspired the cover art to the left.

Received an email from Paige McCoy the editor of Necrotic Tissue yesterday to say that my story 'Halloween Watch' (still not loving that title), along with a few others, had survived all cuts and slices from over 60 submissions. I should add this is for their 100 word Bite Contest. Now it's a case of keeping my fingers crossed that I don't hear back until August 1st when they will be announcing the winner, runners up and those folks who have made it into the issue. If I hear back before it means I'm out...*
*Note to family & friends: Please don't buy any more nail varnish or manicure sets for me as I have no longer have nails on my fingers... Chocolate however is still approved.

Ooh, I love drabbles, both writing and reading 'em. Will have to check out the guidelines.
Oh, and congratulations! (c:
Do it now - they're only open until the end of October and then you have to wait until January to submit.
Congrats. I'm very enamored of the idea of a 100 word story. I've got one out to them right now for their Malpractice anthology--I hope it's my turn now!
Ooh, fingers crossed for your Malpractice sub; I believe they will be making their selections real soon.
Congrats! Drabbles are darn hard--I've never managed to write one that's any good.
Congrats! Necrotic Tissue is a real class act.
Congratulations! And thanks for the promotion : )
Thanks for the tip-off Cate. I've just banged out a drabble and sent it in to NT. I'll let you know how I fare.
KC - I've failed countless times, and yet other people's efforts seem so effortless.
Aaron - They are an impressive outfit.
Cheers, Natalie.
Fingers crossed, Michael
congrats catherine! can't wait to read it...
Congrats! I was putting something together for Malpractice, but it never materialized. Still, I'll definitely try these guys at some point. It'll be fun to have such liberty with the gore.
Thanks, Brenda & Justin.
Congratulations, Cate! I cannot wait to see what comes of it, their drabbles selections are always so much fun!
Wait, you mean horror isn't mainstream?...
It is to me.
My favorite authors of all time are Poe and King. Nothing better than curling up in bed with those gents.
;-)
Congrats, Cate! Once again, you're on a roll this year! I hope at some point to be nearly as productive as you are.
Thanks guys. :)
Congratulations, can't wait to read your story in Malpractice, too.
Cheers, Horace.
Congratulations!
Thanks, Bobbie.
Woot! I'm impressed by anyone who can write interesting 100 word stories; it's harder than it looks!
Who said the story was interesting? :)
Hey, big congrats Frighters! NT is a good score indeed. (Maybe I should give it a try...)
Cheers! (iamacamera)
YAY! Welcome to the land of blogging, Ian. :)
