Sam feels Better Now looks like a good book. Are most of your sales through the proffessional field, like other couselors, or do you find a large audience? And did you have much trouble getting it published?

I was wondering, it says it's like a chldren's illustrated, but it is more interactions. How do you interact in the book?

I'm dong a series of children's books on a hard of hearing little duck, Willy and the Spider, and I was wondering how you can interact in books.

Redameter: Thank you for your questions.

I originally geared my book towards other therapists, or others who work with children in crisis, however it can also be used by parents. If you stop by my blog, www.jillosborne.org there is a posting about how parents can use this book with their children for things such as being afraid of the dark. However, if a child has a experienced a serious trauma, such as abuse, one should seek a professional trained in child therapy and trauma.

I had a pretty easy time getting it published. When I had it ready to submit I was asking on listserve about a particular publisher who I felt would be a good fit for my book, then I was contacted by my current publisher, Loving Healing Press, and they were interested in my book, so after lots of research, thought and prayer I submitted it to them and it was accepted.

As far as the illustrations: it is a fully illustrated picture book, but there are also places for children to draw, and tell stories about scary things. The directions throughout the story allow the child to interact with the main character, Sam by helping him learn how to cope with his trauma experience. For example, the directions are to "draw a picture of something scary" or in another portion of the book, to "help Sam color his feelings," etc...
