1. I am an SOB. No kidding.

It’s not what you think. If you want to think that, though, I don’t mind because it would be funny. To me. Anyway.

SOB stands for Successful Outstanding Blogger. Liz Strauss is the brilliant mind behind it.

If you visit the web site and look at the A-Z directory you’ll discover (as I did) that I’m in some very good company. These people are just awesome at what they do; communicating, connecting, and sharing information with their readers and the entire interwebbery of cool people.

So when you see that little SOB badge in the sidebar over there, you know what it’s all about.

Thank you, Liz! I hope I continue to live up to the SOB name.

Also, you should check out the excellent event that Liz has created called SOBCon. It’s a biz school for bloggers and it looks very exciting.

2. Libsyn support rocks; Jane Ray interview will publish on schedule

Just as I decided to pack it in for the night and wait on Libsyn support to punch-in on Monday morning, I noticed that the support tech had logged in to the Libsyn live (Meebo) service on their support site.  I nabbed the guy as quickly as I could and explained the upload problem I’ve been having.  He contacted the server team and they discovered a disk error and fixed it right away.

Because Libsyn service rocks, the Jane Ray interview will be published on schedule.

Thanks, Libsyn!

3. ILLUSTRATION FRIDAY ~ BACKWARDS

As she looked BACKWARDS over her shoulder Paulette saw the stunned and surprised looks on her parents' faces. As she fell further and further into the foaming sea, she hollered BACKWARDS over the waves, " Don't worry! I'm sure I'll wash up somewhere!"

Finding no comfort in her words, her bereft parents furiously untangled their fishing nets and cast them into the sea in a desperate effort to snare their fast disappearing daughter. Alas, they unfurled them BACKWARDS, and Paulette disappeared beneath the waves.

However, she did wash up on shore, kiddies, and can be found (quite well and happy and also very very clean!) in another Illustration Friday theme...to be announced.

4. Weekly Challenge - My Wish

"My Wish" available on Etsy

This is the finished painting from my painting in progress posts on my blog a while back. She is on a 1/4" wood panel and measures 6" x 12". She was inspired by the song "My Wish" by Rascal Flatts...music has a huge influence on me and therefore my art. I always listen to music when I create...it really helps me get into a creative groove. Some of my favorite artists to listen to in the studio right now are Holly Brook, Ana Nalick, Tori Amos, and Sugarland. How about you?

5. More for the monthly challenge

Here's another new one for the montly challenge. It's approximately 3-1/2" x 5-5/8" on watercolor paper...a mixed media painting with acrylics, water soluble artist crayons, artist pencil, ink, & collage. It's titled "Hold On To Bliss".

And one more...8"x10" on canvas panel titled "Time Flies...Hold On".

Thanks so much to all of you left comments on my first post the other day and those who have visited my blog and/or website! I really appreciate all the art love! :)

6. New member -- Monthly Challenge Entry

Hey ya'll! I just discovered this blog yesterday and it seemed like it would be fun to participate. :) Since I haven't had a chance to work on the weekly challenge yet, I thought I'd post a painting I finished a couple of days ago. It's approximately 6"x8" on watercolor paper...a mixed media painting with acrylics, water soluble artist crayons, artist pencil, ink, & collage. It's titled "Crossroads".
