3. 31 Days of Halloween & Zombie Portraits!

Hi everyone! It's been quite a long time since last I posted here but I figured it was high time I shared what I've been up to (and am up to). I think I posted the illustrations I did this summer for a book on Gender Studies being published through UofT Press - if I didn't and people are interested please just let me know. In the meantime, it's October which means Halloween will soon be upon us once again and I for one am ecstatic! As always I'm doing my custom zombie portraits - for more information on those you can visit TheHorde's main page here. Here are two zombie portraits I just finished up - one for an editor at the Barrie Examiner (local paper) and one for the creator of the great website, Zombie Info.

In other news, I am once again doing my 31 Days of Halloween personal sketch-card series. For information on how to pick up one or more of these cards, I invite you to head on over to my blog! Sadly, I have fallen behind and am struggling to play catch-up but here's what I've got so far (October 1st - 7th):
Roddy McDowall as Peter Vincent from the original Fright Night
Harold Ramis as Egon from Ghostbusters (SOLD!)

4. Star War the Clone Wars: Rise of the Bounty Hunters

Now that the set is out and the boxes are being opened I will show off the cards I did for this set. 200+ to be precise! I did mostly Reds for Target and have seen a few up for auction on ebay and some friends have been lucky enough to pull one of mine! yippie!

I put a folder to the left with all the cards so take a look and enjoy! All the cards on this set were done in watercolor, just to change things up a bit!

12. Some Recent Sketch-Cards

Hello Sugar-Frosted Good-people! Mark here - I haven't posted in a long long while. In fact, I think it's been almost a full year! Here's what I've been up to lately: 1) I attended FanExpo in Toronto as an exhibiting artist this past August - my good friend Lance Sawyer and I premiered our first comic, Dreadful. I'm happy to say it sold out completely. 2) I've been doing a heckuvalot of sketch cards for a number of companies including 5Finity, SadLittles, Breygent and, most recently, Topps and Lucasfilms! I just finished up 100 cards for the Clone Wars: Rise of the Bounty Hunters series, as well as 24 cards for 5Finity's Hack/Slash series. Here are some of my most recent cards!

13. SW Clone Wars Cards! Hell ya!

Finally finished up my 208 SW The Clone Wars: Rise of the Bounty Hunters cards for Topps/Lucasfilm!! These took a lot out of me this time around.  Way too busy and way too short of a deadline...and way too many red cards!!!  But they are super cute and some have some glitter...I know they wouldn't be mine without. Here is a sneak preview of a some of this giant batch of coolness. More to come soon!

17. Live ArtCast!

I started doing a live artcast a few weeks ago and really like it!  Doing art in front of a camera and an audience makes me work a bit faster and actually a bit more efficiently.  It's great to hear automatic feedback from fans and watchers about the project as I'm doing it.  And of course if you've ordered a commission, you get to see it live!  I've had fun and would like to continue doing a live artcast at least once a week.  I've done more than one a week recently just to work out the "bugs" and get used to talking and working and of course learning all the "techie" stuff.  Here is the E.T. sketch card I did today.  The client asked for him "dressed like an old lady" like in the movie.  I also have to draw "Mr. T for the same client...I've said it before...I'll draw ANYTHING!

20. Star Wars ESB Cards #4

It wouldn't be a tribute to Empire without a bunch of Yoda cartoons!! As I drew the 2 with Yoda sitting on the log, I thought of Kermit the Frog singing, "it ain't easy being green" haha
