P is for Fairy Path.

This card can have many meanings for you when you see it, so always trust your guidance. There is one lesson associated with this card I’d like to share that demonstrates the negative and positive aspects of this card.

Everyone has a path unique to themselves. If something isn’t on your path, or you try to walk in the footsteps of someone else’s path, it won’t work. I saw this lesson recently in my own life.

I’m thick. Sometimes I need a cosmic two-by-four to bop me in the head to pay attention to what I need to know. I often experience the lesson over and over until I “get it.”

When I lost my part time gig marketing because of the economy, I really muddled around. I went the logical route and followed family advice to go after what was most lucrative. I learned quickly what doesn’t work for me. I had one nightmare situation after another as I desperately chased after the money I needed vs. where my heart wanted to go. On hindsight, I was probably using or offering skills that aren’t my best. I can honestly say that I even went into a fog where I forgot completely what my path was. I had to ask my friends what was it I loved to do, as if a giant cloud took over my focus and my memories.

I had one job offer that was such a bad fit that I felt ill even thinking about it. But here I was, in a time period when my school wasn’t running yet (it was late summer), my deck wasn’t released, and I had lost my pt job. I was desperate. I had to make a decision and fast, but every time I thought about this job, I either had a back ache, stomach ache or rashes. Many friends around me insisted this was my one choice, but then several looked at me, and knew, this was not a job that was on my path. It didn’t fit my sensitive personality, even a little bit. I’d probably last through a few days of training before messing up or needing to be on migraine medicine.

Things did improve but it was one dark period trusting myself to get back on path. I knew I loved teaching, writing and creating products that teach. It was my heart path. I joined an online Facebook group with the fabulous Fabeku, who teaches you to find your Superpower. I knew mine, I just had to believe in it again, and believe I had a right to pursue it.

I had another interview that makes me chuckle right now. It was for a retail clothing store job. The interviewer barely looked at my resume and forgot my name (never a good sign). She didn’t care about my special skills or superpowers, she wanted to know if I could run a cash register and climb a ladder. There’s this inventory closet that is loaded with clothes and boxes and each day you would climb this ladder and check the boxes on a far shelf. Now I hate climbing ladders and heights, but I told her not a problem. But the issue was my height. Even with the ladder, I probably couldn’t reach those boxes, and she managed to point that out. I am pretty sure I didn’t get that job because of that one fact. I walked out feeling ashamed and not happy who I was, which is a sure sign you are not on your path.

On my next interview, I listened to the job described and felt tingles all through my body. I felt emotional, in a very good way–the kind of spontaneous cry that bursts through that you know you are hitting pay dirt to your soul. After we discussed the details, the interviewer told me I was an Ideal Candidate and she wanted to offer me the job. This was the complete opposite of being shamed for a ladder. The whole process was effortless and flowed. I felt like I was with a kindred spirit. I walked out feeling expansive and hopeful again wondering what other dreams I could pursue and add to that new job that followed this unique path that was made just for me.

You are supposed to feel good. You are supposed to feel honored for your special gifts. You are supposed to be appreciated. And when you don’t feel any of that, you are probably just off your unique path.

I picked theme cards for the week from my Healing Fairy Alphabet deck. (Pretty surreal experience picking cards from your own deck). O is for Outside In. This is the card that indicates poor or good boundaries. It’s a reminder to help yourself feel safe by stating good boundaries and recognizing where you need them.

The C is for Cocoon card is all about rest or things/ideas/plans percolating in the cocoon before they are brought out into the world. It may even be a time where you feel nothing is happening in the outside world in regards to your plans, but much is going on underneath the surface.

The two cards together may indicate a battle between rest and boundaries. Look at the cards through your own intuition and life. The meaning and message will pop out at you.

I have been busy creating the Fairy Deck which involves frequent trips to Nature. Oh the horrors! Ha ha. It’s starting to get buggy out there in the aftermath of Arizona monsoon season, but all part fairies are drawn to Nature and need it to survive.

There’s the gentle signs that Fall is just around the corner. Why must Summer go by so quickly?

Often the kind of healing magic of plants that you need surrounds you and is right in your backyard. ROSEMARY is really great for grounding and focus and just happens to be growing like crazy in my yard right now. The bush is almost as big as the tree! I know I need this essence for sure, especially while finishing this deck.

The Snapdragon was very quiet in the middle summer heat but has bounced back with all the rains.  This is another great plant with healing qualities that include helping with headaches and tension. I wonder if it will help me with Hayfever.

This the card of waiting, rest, planning ahead, dreaming. It might look like there is nothing happening on the surface, but much is unfolding.

If you are pulled to this drawing, you are being asked to look at:  When you are planted in wrong soil and you are not thriving, you feel there is something wrong with you, rather than the soil. This happens when we are in places or situations that are not good matches for us. I love the Indian Gardens message. Indian Gardens is a lovely forest area near Sedona, Arizona, not far from my home. It’s filled with fairy energy and well, I love fairies, being part fairy.

“This is a message about honoring yourself. Do not compare yourself to others or feel that there is something wrong with you. There are lots of forests, but this one has it’s own voice. It is special and enough to who it belongs to. When you honor and accept yourself and your uniqueness, the world will reflect that back to you.”

In the works…

Lots of Changes

Things are looking a little different here…

I spent my Sunday playing on the computer rearranging, assessing, playing with my websites, and cuddling dogs in my jammies.

It seemed the Empath classes really wanted their own place, and didn’t want to be confused with the fairy/nature classes. Ha ha! So, they get their own school. Seriously, I have fairy students who love the whole Nature healing thing, and then I have my Sensitive students, who think the whole fairy thing is a little crazy. So, this makes sense. Each needs their own place to land here.

For January, I’m making Fairy Online School a little more accessible and more “self-serve.” I’ll still be available once a week for each class to answer questions, and talk about your lovely homework, but it’s more a no-pressure, have fun kind of thing. There’s two start dates, each on a Friday, for your convenience. So, if you finally want to learn about flower essences, or commune with Nature, tackle those empathic skills, or dive into animal communication, this is the place. Some classes will be retired. So sad. And some regrouped, but the student favorites will remain.

I am not doing any readings anymore. Sad too. I’m focusing more on the writing and teaching others how to communicate themselves.

Fairy deck

I’m working on new books in the HELP! I’M SENSITIVE series and the Fairy Deck, finally! Here’s a teeny little peek.

I’ve used some of the cards for my 2013 Calendar, and I really think it’s time for the cards to be, well, cards! So, if you see me on Facebook, do encourage me to finish them! I’m hoping for an early Spring launch, but we will see how that plays out with all the other creative projects I tackle at once (creative ADD).

I’ve been working diligently on my Story/Design Studio site also. I’ve been having a blast learning about video editing and storytelling used for teaching. PURE BLISS! Okay, maybe some of the program learning has been a little frustrating and filled with curse words, but the challenge of learning has been very, very fun.

It’s my R is for Roses from the Healing Fairy Alphabet.

I love roses! When I moved here to my fairy castle I was pleasantly surprised to find several rose bushes in my yard. At the time, I really needed healing on all levels and just being by the Roses I am convinced has helped me. Roses lift us up from whatever pain, bad mood, or circumstance we are facing and give us a higher perspective so we can think again and see things clearly. Can you pick up some roses today to help you heal?
