Titles--heartache city! The title must do everything a synopsis or query does: grab the reader, provide a summary, and hint at the action yet to come. A lot of time goes into working up a good title, and it's not just the author's work, either. The editor, the editor's coworkers, and sales and marketing all have their say; everyone's input must be considered.
Titles cooked up and rejected for A WHOLE LOT OF LUCKY:
- Two Flavors of Lucky
- The Year of My Magnificent Luckiness
- Three Million Dollar Girl
- The Duplicitous Luckiness of Hailee Richardson
- Serendippitydoo
- Lucky Me
- Impossibly Possibly Lucky
- Hailee Richardson, Girl Millionaire
My editor and I brainstormed pages of titles and promptly rejected most of them. The problem lies in the word "lucky:" phrases involving "getting lucky" are imbued with the wrong kind of nuance! Also, we wanted to avoid words like jackpot or other buzzwords that are too close too gambling. (This was hard, because even the buying of a lottery ticket is gambling.)
My sister suggested "A Whole Lotto Lucky," and the powers that be loved her suggestion! With a bit of morphing, my sister's words became A WHOLE LOT OF LUCKY.

NOTE TO SELF: THERE ARE GOOD PEOPLE WITH GOOD SOULS IN THIS WORLD
A retired couple living in Nova Scotia, Canada decided, as many of us do, to play the lottery. Up for grabs was an $11.2 million dollar jackpot and as many of us also do, they dreamed of a win. The couple, Alan, a former welder, and Violet Large, are senior citizens who live simple lives with Violet afflicted with cancer and undergoing chemotherapy.
Last July they hit the jackpot in the Lotto 6/49 winning $11,255,272 to be exact, which in itself is something given the odds against winning anything, especially a huge amount like this. It's what the couple did following their win, which makes this story one-in-a-million. They gave away almost $11.2 million of their winnings to family members, local churches, fire departments, cemetaries, Red Cross and hospitals who obviously meant a lot to Violet, given her health issues.
Once word got out about their generosity, a producer with ITV television in London called The Canadian Press on Thursday looking to connect with the Larges, and the story drew a flood of comments from readers on the Daily Mail's website in the United Kingdom. Not surprising since everyone wants to hear about good news and good people doing good things.
"As I say you can't buy your health and you can't buy happiness but if you can help someone out that's what you want to do," Violet said.
I've always believed that when you reach out and share your blessings, they return to you in kind. Now didn't this story make you smile?

Let’s be honest I’m not quite twenty years old, witch means if had million dollars i would probably spend it all on what some people would consider pointless things. I would most likely not invest the money or try to live off the interest, what i would do is take it and have an amazing time with a couple of my closest friends. Of course i would help my parents out a little bit, I definitely ow them that much.
After that was done well then i party , haha!
1. Go sky diving, always wanted to do it.
2. Drive race-car at a super speedway, and definitely race some people!
3. Get my pilots license , so cool to fly a plan
4. Of course I’d end up buying a car, witch one I haven’t decided yet.
5. Make a point to travel all around the world, So awesome to see every country, and I’d like to do it by backpacking , see it the way it is.
6. By more lottery tickets… a lot more 
7. Go to professional mountain biking clinic

8. Front row seats to these bands, Metalica, Tragically Hip, David Wilcox, Three Days Grace, Nickel back, Disturbed, Foo-fighters, and that’s just a few.
9. Buy a mac-book, just because ill actually be able to afford for once.
10. Go on a cruise ( I’ve never been on one).
11. Take horse riding lessons.
12. Ride the all the biggest and fastest Roller Coasters in the world!dr
13. Do what ever else came to mind.
And when I look back at where all the money went, just smile and enjoy the rest of my life because its the experiences that count the most.

Hi everybody.
Well, this is going to be short because I just realized I'm going to be very busy this week. Very busy SPENDING MONEY.
Also, I'm going to be quitting the writing thing as of today. Yeah. It was a pipe dream and kind of a waste of time if you ask me. Really, who wants to read books about short buses, zombies, magic sandboxes, or even a girl with strength-enhancing body armor?

Congratulations to your 1000th post, Mattias! I do follow your blog since it was mentioned in some german newspaper. Since back then your sketches changed from trees and birds, but I still do like them very much and follow your blog daily (at least I have a look in it), and, on your purpose bought the Illustrated Life which I do like really much. However, I never posted any comment here (except for one about the birthday present for your child, the third part of the Eragon Series, where I really liked the fact that you looked the sequel-question up and answered me:-) )

I am astounded by your work, I came across it on northernskydesign.com, the buildings you draw really reminded me of artwork of someone I went to school with, they both have the same reality about them- it was great I went and researched the guy who I last knew of 8 years ago, he now works for RIBA. I really enjoyed the the chain of thought leading from your work to his and back. I adore all your animals and buildings- in fact everything. Your work is so inspirational and comforting I'm so glad I found it and you.
There are several people I know who really need to see your work, so I shall be spreading the word.
