This years Caldecott & Newbery speeches were excellent and this years Geisel Medalist, Josh Schneider, knocked it out of the park. I was honored to receive my honor for Elephant & Piggie's I BROKE MY TRUNK! and to be

When I return there will be all kinds of cool announcements about upcoming stuff in the

and I couldn't be happier about it.[The Mass. State Synchronized Library Cart Competition last week in Springfield, MA. Jon Scieszka and I will see you at Nationals this July at ALA in Chicago.]PS: Batman didn't seem as engulf in a private rage and grief as I had been led to believe from all of those comic books. He seemed fairly well adjusted for a guy running around in his underwear.PPS: You

I'm off to NY Comic Con for an appearance on Sunday. So, in the mean-time, here's a gallery of some recent photos that have come my way... First, lovely shots from Dave Moore at the St. Louis Library event for the Naked Mole Rat Gets Dressed Tour... Next, did you know that before pal Jeannie Birdsall became a top-notch author, she was an art photographer? You did. Oh, well.
In person, you can hear the commentary (which is very amusing) but not see the carts. Here, you can see the carts much better but not hear the commentary at all. Next year, perfection?
