26. Words + Photos: Day 4

pottery Originally uploaded by teachergal I tried to focus more on the letting the writing guide me… not letting the photos lead the way, like I have the other days this week. (The writing on the left side of this layout captures the essence of my [...]

28. words + photos reflection.

Stacey (who, in my opinion, is properly hooked on {A}) referenced Ali’s words + photo week in a previous post today.   I love how different blog posts and thoughts resonate inside of different people.  Stacey was inspired to document her day via words and pictures.  I, on the other hand, was inspired to look at old scrapbook pages & [...]

30. Stacey’s Slice of Life Story: Day 12

Each student went around at Closing Circle and shared some of the positive feedback they received from another student or an adult during the Publishing Party today. It was a super way to end the day. After school, a few of my students helped me clean up and discovered two cold half-gallons of juice under [...]

31. NEW WORK BUT NO NEW WORDS

Good Morning:

Well, it's been over a week since I've made my way to my blog. Filling the big, white, and blank page seems such a heavy task, yet when I do have the words, I enjoy it so. Although I haven't many words lately, I have managed to finish two new collages. They are both listed in My Etsy Shop.

The first collage is a second piece in my "Fiona" series. It's a 5" x 7" on canvas:

FASHIONABLE FIONA

The second collage is another in my "Rabbit" series. It's a 4" x 6" on canvas and I like to classify it as "story art", as there is a story to the piece. It goes like this:

"What you get with this collage is a lovely summer afternoon somewhere in the English countryside. The kind of warm day with miniature breezes that call you to laze about. But on this day, Rabbit had an unexpected visit from her dear friend, Dog. Dog felt that the day was so warm and fresh that a party was in order. Dog brought hats and tea and scones. A nice time was had by all...BUT, something was amiss. There was a static in the air and a low howl far in the distance....

Now, you get to fill in the blank. The end of the story belongs to you!!"

RABBIT'S UNEXPECTED PARTY

Both of these pieces will, eventually, be offered in print form in my Etsy shop. If you are interested in either of these collages or a print of either one, but you don't have an Etsy account, feel free to email me for details. You can do so by going to the top left hand corner of my blog and click on the email button.

As much as I loathe using my blog as a simple marketing tool, that must be what I use it for today, as I'm off to another busy day. Meds for my mom and picking up some medical records for her as well.

As always, thank you ever so much for stopping by and having a look at my new work. I truly appreciate it.

Until Next Time

32. I'M GIVING EBAY ONE MORE TRY

Well, here it is, early afternoon already. I've spent the morning listing some of my original collages and some ACEO prints on eBay. I haven't listed on eBay in months, as sales were so slow over there. BUT...I've decided to give it another whirl. I love the excitement of the auction format. I don't know how my collages will do now, but I figure one more chance can't hurt!

Here's the link to my eBay listings: gardenpainter4

I am off to the post office and then to the grocery. On these sweetly calm days, I don't have much to blog about, yet I am compelled to drop a line here anyway.

I should have a new collage to show here tomorrow, and hopefully, a fresh and interesting blog entry.

Thanks for checking in and reading my entry even though I have absolutely nothing to blog about.

Until Tomorrow:

33. JUST A SIMPLE DAY

Good Morning:

It's a lovely morning, but they say rain is coming tomorrow. I love rain and I especially love thunderstorms, but here in Southern California, we rarely get thunder and lightening. Just a few teeny raindrops. Just enough to make traffic slow to a crawl. During the 6 years that we lived in Northwest Arkansas, I learned to smell rain and feel the static of a good summer storm. Here in California, the weather is just as generic as so many of it's residents. So, as I get along in my day, I'll enjoy the sunshine today and pray for thunder tomorrow.

I would like to use this post to introduce you to another of my "groovy artist friends". Check out her blog at BlueJude Musings. Here's a link to her Etsy shop: Art n Joy. She is a wonderful collage/mixed media artist. I have several of her prints and they are joyful and full of dancing color!! And....she's really cool too!!

While I'm at it, I might as well include a picture of my latest print on Etsy. This one is a 5" x 7" print titled: "The Water Watcher". The original was sold a couple of years ago, but I've always kind of liked this one, so thought I would have a few prints made. You can find this print at My Etsy Shop.

I actually have 40 items in my Etsy shop right now!! For me, that's a lot.
