ऐसा भी होता है …!!!!

छोटी बातें

शीना और गीता बहुत अच्छी सहेलियां थी. पर अचानक एक दिन ना जाने क्या हुआ क्या नही पर दोनो की आपसी बोल चाल बंद हो गई. यह बात लगभग 2 महीने तक चली और जब उनका आमना सामना हुआ तो हकीकत जान कर दोनो बहुत झेंपी. असल मे ,हुआ यू कि एक शाम शीना बाजार जा रही थी और गीता अपने घर की बालकनी मे खडी थी. मुस्कुराते हुए शीना ने उसे हाथ हिलाया पर उसने ना तो कोई जवाब दिया और ना स्माईल.

शीना को बहुत गुस्सा आया और मन ही मन उसने उससे कुट्टा कर ली कि बहुत अकड आ गई है उसमे. एक दो बार गीता के फोन भी आए पर उसने जवाब नही दिया. वही एक दिन गीता को बाहर जाना था और उसने देखा कि शीना पौधो को पानी दे रही है उसने प्यार से हाथ हिलाया पर शीना यथावत पानी ही देती रही.बस दोनो मे दूरियां बढती गई.

एक दिन दोनो का अनयास ही आखों के डाक्टर के यहा आमना सामना हुआ.बातो बातो मे जब बात खुली तो झेंप इसलिए आई कि बात कुछ भी नही थी.असल में, दोनो की नजर कमजोर हो गई थी. हल्के अंधेरे मे दोनो को ही दिखाई नही दिया और एवई ही बात का बतंगड बन गया.
ऐसे ना जाने कितने उदाहरण है जिसमे बात कुछ भी नही होती और दिलो मे खटास बेवजह ही पैदा हो जाती है.चाहे माता पिता मे हो, बच्चो मे हो या दोस्तो मे हो या अपने दफ्तर मे हो.अगर ऐसे मे कभी भी थोडा भी संदेह हो तो बजाय बोलचाल बंद करने के खुल कर बात कर लेना बेहतर है. दूसरे लोग ऐसे मे ना सिर्फ मजाक उडाते है बल्कि आनंद भी लेते हैं तो किसी को क्यो मौका देना … वैसे आप तो ऐसा कुछ नही कर रहे होंगे अगर कर रहे हैं तो बिना समय गवाए बात कर लीजिए प्लीज … !!!

समय बहुत बलवान

बहुत समय से एक जानकार अपनी बिटिया की शादी का सोच रहे थे . बहुत लडके देखे, अखबारो के विज्ञापन और नेट पर भी सर्च किया पर एक साल होने को आया पर बात नही बनती दिख रही थी. आज फिर उनकी बिटिया को  देखने लडके वाले आ रहे थे. घर पर जबरदस्त इंतजाम किया गया था. परदे, मंहगे सोफे, भव्य शो पीस,क्राकरी और भी ना जाने क्या क्या.  दस तरह की मिठाई , बीस तरह की नमकीन और फल और ड्राई फ्रूट का तो पूछो ही मत.. यानि  शादी मे रुपया पैसा जैसी कोई रुकावट नही थी. करोडों की शादी होनी थी. लडके वाले आए. खूब खातिर दारी भी हुई  पर   पर पर बात नही बनी.

ना लडकी में कोई कमी थी और न ही उस परिवार का कोई क्रिमिनल रिकार्ड … तो फिर आखिर क्या हुआ कि बात नही बनी…

इसका बस  यही कारण था कि कमरे मे लगी महंगी दीवार घडी रुकी हुई थी और कैलेंडर भी फरवरी  महीने का ही लटका हुआ फडफडा रहा था. ये बात एक कमरे की नही थी सभी कमरों में महंगी से महंगी घडी थी पर सही समय कोई नही दिखा रही थी . जिस कमरे में लंच था उस कमरे में तो सन 2014 का कैलेडर टंग़ा हुआ था.

शायद  लडकी वालो के लिए रुपया पैसा ही सब कुछ था और लडके वालो की सोच  उनसे हट कर  थी.

वैसे बात शादी ब्याह की न भी हो तो हमें अपने घर का समय यानि दीवार घडी का समय और कैलेंडर सदा अपडेट रखने चाहिए … समय की कीमत समझनी बेहद जरुरी है … वैसे आप तो ऐसे नही होंगें … अरे आप कहां चले .. ?? ओह .. आज पहली अगस्त है और आपने महीना बदला नही था अभी तक

ब्रांड एम्बेस्डर

पिछ्ले दिनों अमिताभ बच्चन जी सुर्खियों में थे कि उन्होने किसान चैनल के लिए 6.31 करोड रुपए लिए हैं जिसका बाद में खंंडन हुआ और फिर ये सुनने मे आया कि वो रुपए लौटा रहे हैं. मामला अभी गर्म ही था कि हरियाणा में बेटी बचाओ बेटी पढाओ अभियान की बैंड एम्बेसडर बनी परिणिती चोपडा का पता नही कितने पैसे लिए है?

कुछ समय पहले हमने भी एक छोटी सी संस्था बनाने की सोची थी और सोचा था कि जानी मानी हस्ती से बात करके उन्हे अपने साथ जोडेग़ें तो यकीनन बहुत लोग साथ जुड जाएगें. किसी के माध्यम से एक जानी मानी हस्ती से  बात भी पर मामला तब खटाई में पड गया जब वहां से पूछा गया कि आपका बजट कितना है. हम हैरान ?? हमने कहा जी, समाज सेवा का काम है ये और  आप तो वैसे भी समाज सेवा के काम करते दिखाई देते रहते हैं और साथ ही साथ आपके पास तो वैसे ही इतना नेम ऎंड फेम है…  अगर एक छोटा सा संदेश दे देंगें तो आपको क्या फर्क पडने वाला है ??? तब बिचोलिए ने बताया कि ये सैलीब्रेटी यकीनन समाज सेवा करती हैं पर बिना पैसे के एक कदम भी नही चलती. पहले पैसा बाद में कोई और बात… अब हमारा बजट तो था नही इसलिए हमें उनको वही नमस्कार करना पडा पर मन जरुर खटटा हो गया कि नाम बडा और दर्शन छोटे ….

आज अगर सैलिब्रेटी को लेकर पैसे का मुद्दा उठ रहा है तो यकीनन अच्छी बात है, किसी चीज का ब्रांड एम्बेसडर बनने में खुद की भी तो ब्रांडिंग होती है ऐसे में सरकारी पैसा किसलिए लुटाया जाए …ह हा हा !! हंसी इसलिए आ रही है कि ऐसा होगा नही क्योकि ये  बिना पैसे के कोई काम नही करेंगें इस बात में कोई किंतु परंतु या दो राय नही. हां वो अलग बात है कि पैसा किस तरह से लिया जाएगा कि समाज सेवा भी हो जाए और नाम भी खराब नही होगा…

डीडी किसान चैनल से पैसे लेने की बात से हालांकि अमिताभ बच्चन ने इंकार किया है लेकिन उनके प्रचार का कामकाज देख रही कंपनी – लिंटास, और किसान चैनल का कहना है कि बिग बी को मेहनताना दिया गया.

हालांकि अब कंपनी पैसा लौटाने की प्रक्रिया में है.

एक अंग्रेजी अख़बार में ख़बर छपी थी कि अमिताभ बच्चन ने किसानों के लिए शुरू किए गए सरकारी चैनल से साढ़े छह करोड़ रुपये से ज़्यादा का मेहनताना लिया है.

इसके बाद सोशल मीडिया और दूसरी जगहों पर ये सवाल पूछे जाने लगे कि क्या अमिताभ बच्चन को चैनल से पैसे लेने चाहिए थे, ऐसा करना जायज़ था?

बच्चन ने ट्वीट करके कहा कि उन्होंने डीडी किसान से किसी क़िस्म का मेहनताना नहीं लिया है.

फ़िल्मों में अभिनय के अलावा बच्चन ढेर सारी कंपनियों और उत्पादों के लिए विज्ञापन भी करते हैं. इनमें सरकारी विज्ञापन भी शामिल हैं.

ज़ाहिर है इन विज्ञापनों के लिए उन्हें मोटी रकम मिलती है.

किसान चैनल से पैसे लेने के विवाद पर किसान चैनल के प्रमुख नरेश सिरोही ने बीबीसी से बातचीत में कहा, “हमने लिंटास कंपनी को अमिताभ बच्चन से विज्ञापन कराने के लिए पैसे दिए थे.”

सिरोही का यह भी कहना था कि अब अचानक कंपनी ने यह कहकर पैसे लौटाने का फ़ैसला किया है कि अमिताभ ने पैसे लेने से मना कर दिया है.

लिंटास कंपनी ने भी इस संबंध में स्पष्टीकरण दिया और अपने बयान में पहले पैसे लेने और फिर लौटाने की बात कही है.

“डीडी किसान ने 31 मार्च, 2015 को औपचारिक रूप से हमें अमिताभ बच्चन के कार्यालय से बातचीत के लिए अधिकृत किया था. 12 मई को अमिताभ बच्चन के कार्यालय से हमें इसकी स्वीकृति मिल गई. उसके बाद हमने डीडी किसान चैनल के साथ काग़ज़ी कार्रवाई शुरू की और फिर डीडी किसान ने पैसे जारी किए.”

“श्री बच्चन ने सैद्धांतिक रूप से ये फ़ैसला लिया है कि राष्ट्र हित में इस विज्ञापन के लिए वह किसी तरह का शुल्क नहीं लेंगे इसलिए अब हमारी कंपनी डीडी किसान को पैसे वापस करने की प्रक्रिया शुरू कर रही है.” See more…

ऐसा प्यार कहां

वाह !!! आज एक महाशय … मेरे हिसाब से महानुभाव बोलना ऊचित रहेगा .. हां, तो आज एक महानुभाव से मिलना हुआ. वो खुदकुशी कर रहे थे. उन्हे और उनके प्यार को देखकर मै उनसे प्रभावित हुए बिना नही रह सकी. अरे!! हैरान होने की जरुरत नही है और ना ही मैने कुछ गलत लिखा है. असल में, उन्हे ब्लड शूगर है और वो बस मीठा और तला चोरी छिपे खाए चले जा रहे है भले ही घर वाले नाराज हो पर खाने से वो अपना प्यार, मोह नही छोड पा रहे है.
वही मेरी प्रिय सहेली मणि के एक मित्र है मुहं पका हुआ है एक छाला महीने से ठीक नही हो रहा पर पान मसाले और गुटखे का प्रेम इतना है कि उसे छोड नही पा रहे.
वही एक अन्य जानकार है दोनो गुर्दे जवाब देने को है पर शराब… अजी, इतना प्यार है उससे कि छूट ही नही रही. जाने अंजाने ये सभी लोग खुदकुशी पर आमादा है.. भले ही घर परिवार वाले नाराज हो लडे मरे या खुद अपने शरीर के साथ कितने भी दुख उठाए पर छोड नही सकते.
देखा है आपने ऐसा प्यार!!! अब प्यार हो तो ऐसा हो वर्ना ना हो !! वैसे आप कही आप भी तो खुदकुशी ….. !!!!

Indian House wife

मेरी एक सहेली हाऊस वाईफ है. आज सुबह उसके घर गई तो बच्चों के शोर से घर गूंज रहा था. बोली आज और कल ओवर टाईम करना है ?? मैने पूछा अरे !! कैसे कही ज्वाईन किया क्या तो हंस कर बोली नही री … आज इनकी और बच्चों की छुट्टी है ये सब मस्त है पूरा दिन धमा चौकडी मचाने वाले हैं जबकि उसका आज पूरा दिन रसोई मे बीतेने वाला है … बारी बारी करके सो कर उठेंगें …अलग अलग नाश्ते की फरमाईश होगी फिर बाजार भी शापिंग पर ले जाना होगा फिर बच्चों के दोस्त भी आएगें और इनके भी दो चार दोस्त तो आ ही जाएगें …

मौसम अच्छा है तो पकौडे शकौडे … फिर … मैने कहा … बस बस बस … ओह मैं तो सुनते सुनते ही थक गई इसे तो सारा दिन काम करना है पर वो बोली हां पर खुशी खुशी. एक दो दिन ही हो मिलते हैं बच्चों को मस्ती करने के नही तो सुबह से शाम तक स्कूल पढाई, टयूशन …ना आराम न नींद … !! मैने मुस्कुरा दी.. वाकई छ्ट्टी के दिन तो गृहणी की भूमिका डबल ट्रिपल ही होती है और  ये बात तो एक मां ही सोच सकती है …

मैं अक्सर फेसबुक य अन्य सोश्ल नेट वर्क साईट पर देखती हूं बहुत लोग हैप्पी संडे करके अपना स्टेटस डालते हैं अगर एक हाऊस वाईफ डाले तो …  

खैर !! जरुरी ये बात है हर काम खुशी खुशी किया जाए …कई महिलाए “रुस” जाती है मेरा मतलब मोदी जी की यात्रा वाला रुस नही बल्कि नाराज हो जाती है. इतना काम देख कर मुहं बना लेती है अरे भई   छुटी है  आप भी खुश रहो  इसलिए खूब खाओ और खिलाओ …. !!!!

Increase vs decrease

जनसंख्या लगातार बढ रही है. महंगाई का तो कोई हिसाब ही नही बेरोजगारी ,भ्रष्टाचार,प्रदूषण, पेट्रोल, राशन आदि की तो बात ही मत करो . हाल बेहाल है. क्या इनसे कभी छुटकारा मिलेगा.  क्या हमारे सामने कभी कमी भी आएगी या कमी का नाम भी इतिहास हो जाएगा    क्या इनसे कभी छुटकारा मिलेगा…..

अगर आप ऐसा ही कुछ सोच रहे हैं तो परेशान होने की कोई जरुरत नही है क्योकि आज के समय मे बहुत सी चीजो मे कमी या गिरावट आई है और तो और कुछ चीजे तो इतनी सस्ती हो गई है कि उनका कोई मोल ही नही रहा और आप हैं कि राग अलापे जा रहे हैं.

सुनिए हमारी जान(जिंदगी) सस्ती हो गई है इसकी कोई कीमत नही रही.

जीवन के मूल्य गिर गए है.

आँखो का पानी खत्म होता जा रहा है.

विश्वास की नीव कमजोर हो गई है.

सहनशक्ति कम हो गई है.

जंगल खत्म हो गए हैं हरियाली मे भारी कमी आई है.पक्षियो की चहचाहट कम हो गई है.

चीनी मे मिठास कम हो गई है.

बिजली की सप्लाई कम हो गई है.

स्कूलो मे टीचर और अस्पतालो मे डाक्टरो की कमी हो गई है.

खाने मे पोषक तत्वो की कमी हो गई है.

लडकियो मे खून की कमी हो गई है.जागरुकता, इज्जत, आदर मान ना के बराबर रह गए है और भी बहुत उदाहरण है इसलिए यह मत कहिए कि आज के समय मे कमी की कमी हो गई …..

Take Care

अभी कुछ देर पहले मणि मेरे घर खीर ले कर आई … अरे वाह खीर !!!! किस खुशी में … वो बोली कि जब पिछ्ले दिनों वो छुट्टियों में बाहर चले गए थे तो पौधे सूख गए थे. एक को तो बचा नही पाई थी पर एक पौधे को उसने बचा लिया. उसकी खूब देखभाल की सुबह दोपहर शाम पानी दिया और आज सुबह उसमे फूल खिला है. उसी खुशी में खीर … मैने उसकी आखों मे झिलमिलाती खुशी देखी.

सच, हम अक्सर पौधो के मामले मे सुस्त हो जाते हैं अगर उन्हे लगाया है तो पानी देना तपती गर्मी से बचाना भी हमारा ही फर्ज है. घर की सुंदरता बढाने के साथ साथ वो हमारे अच्छे दोस्त भी है. अगर आप भी बचा सकते हैं तो किसी को मुरझाने से बचा लिजिए… Take Care of plants …

पर्यावरण को सुरक्षित रखने के बहुत लोग अपने अपने तरीके से संदेश देते हैं … कोई टीवी पर, कोई नाटिका के माध्यम से तो कोई गीत गाकर तो कोई समाचार पत्र मे माध्यम से जनता को प्रेरित करते हैं …

दैनिक भास्कर ने भी एक अभियान छेडा

बरसात के इस मौसम में अपने नाम का पौधा लगाएं।

औषधीय पौधा लगाएंगे तो और भी उत्तम होगा।

एक पौधा हमारे लिए माध्यम बनेगा, अपने बचपन को फिर से जीने का।

मा नसून ने दस्तक दे दी है। फिलहाल इसने तेजी नहीं पकड़ी है। मगर पूरी उम्मीद है कि कुछ देर से ही सही, घटाएं जमकर बरसेंगी।

हर वर्ष की तरह, इस बार भी दैनिक भास्कर समूह अपने करोड़ों पाठक परिवारों के साथ मिलकर आज से पौधरोपण अभियान की शुरुआत कर रहा है। यही तो सही समय है, जब हमारे द्वारा लगाए गए पौधे धरती की गोद में आसानी से पल-बढ़ सकते हैं।

आइए, आज हम एक नई परंपरा की शुरुआत भी करते हैं। बरसात के इस मौसम में हम अपने नाम का एक पौधा लगाते हैं। और फिर उसकी देखभाल उतने ही प्यार से करें, जैसी हमारे बड़े हमारी करते थे। यकीन मानिए, जब हम रोज सुबह अपने नाम के इस पौधे को देखेंगे तो हमारे चेहरे पर कुछ वैसी ही मासूम मुस्कुराहट होगी, जैसी बचपन में हुआ करती थी। वह पौधा हमारे लिए माध्यम बनेगा, अपने बचपन को फिर से जीने का।

ऐसा हम अपने परिवार के सभी सदस्यों के लिए करें। परिवार का प्रत्येक सदस्य अपने नाम का एक पौधा लगाए। यदि भास्कर के करोड़ों पाठक अपने नाम का एक पौधा लगाएं और उसकी देखभाल करें, तो हम पर्यावरण को हराभरा करेंगे ही, आने वाली पीढ़ियों को अपने नाम की अनमोल विरासत भी देंगे।

कुछ देर

मैं हँसी
तो फूल मुस्कुरा उठे
मैनें छेड़ा तराना
तो इन्द्रधनुष और खिल उठा……
जिसकी कामना की……..
वही मिलती चलती गर्इ….
मन सुख समुंद्र में
लगा गोते लगाने
चारों और खुशनुमा माहौल
लगा मन में अजब स्फूर्ति भरने
ये धरती……… ये आकाश
ये चाँद …………ये तारे
सभी लगे मस्ती में झूमने
तभी…………….
टूटी तंद्रा मेरी
बीमार काया
टूटा पलंग, सूखी रसोर्इ
यहाँ गरीबी का हो रहा था ताँड़व
अचानक
फीकी हँसी मेरे अधरों पर खिल उठी
चलो………….
कोर्इ नही कल्पना तो है मेरे साथ
जब चाहे उसे नया रूप देकर
खुद को बहला तो सकती हूँ
कुछ देर जी तो सकती हूँ………….
कुछ देर जी तो सकती हूँ……………

कई बार जिंदगी में ऐसे पल आते हैं जब मन एक दम अकेला और मायूस सा हो जाता है… अब ये अपनी ऊपर हैं कि दुखी मन को लेकर दुखी हो जाओ या फिर मनोबल बनाए रखने के लिए मन को खुश रखो … मैने मन को ही खुश रखा क्योकि उसने मेरा ही भला होना था … ज्यादा तनाव रखती तो तबियत खराब हो जाती और डाक्टरों के चक्कर , अस्पताल के चक्कर लगाने कौन से आसान है भई … इसलिए सकारात्मक सोच लिए जिओ और देखना समस्या का हल भी निकल जाएगा बस एक ही कंडीशन है कि आप अपने कार्यों के प्रति ईमानदार रहना होगा …

पोस्ट अच्छी बुरी

कल  फेसबुक पर एक पोस्ट देखी.  फोटो में आटो वाला अपने वाहन मे विकलांगों को फ्री सर्विस देता है उन्होने अपने ओटो मे यही बात बडा करके लिखवाई हुई थी. उस पोस्ट पर लिखा था बताओ कितने लाईक मिलेंगें और उस पर मुश्किल से 10 -12 लाईक थे.

बात लाईक करने या न करने की नही है क्योकि यकीनन पढते तो सभी है बस अच्छाई को पसंद करने के लिए बस क्लिक नही कर पाते. पर मुझे यकीन है कि ऐसे लोग दिल ही दिल मे प्रशंसा भी करते होंगें.

दो दिन पहले एक अन्य तस्वीर भी देखने को मिली. आठ दस साल की लडकी की तस्वीर थी और उसमे लिखा था कि ” मेरे पापा ने कहा है कि अगर इस फोटो को एक हजार लाईक मिले तो वो सिग्रेट पीना छोड देंगें. मुझे अच्छा लगा कि लगभग 900 से ज्यादा लाईक हो चुके थे. मैने भी तुरंत लाईक कर दिया. हालाकि उसके बाद मुझे वह फोटो न्यूज फीड मे नही दिखी. पता नही लोगो ने उसे लाईक किया या  नही  वैसे आप चाहे कुछ भी कहें पर कई पोस्ट वाकई में अच्छी होती है.

एक पोस्ट तो पढ कर मजा ही आ गया . उसमे लिखा था कि मैने अभी भगवान की फोटो शेयर की है. इंतजार कर रहा हूं कि शुभ समाचार क्या मिलेगा… क्योकि उस पोस्ट पर लिखा था कि जल्दी से शेयर करो और शुभ समाचार पाओ…

बहुत समय पहले इसी प्रकार के पोस्टकार्ड आया करते थे तब समझ नही आता था कि इसे फेंक दे , फाड दें या जवाबी 50 पत्र लिख कर डाल दे…

खैर पोस्ट हर तरह की है अच्छी बुरी … हमारी ऊपर है कि हम उसे देख कर अनदेखा कर देतें हैं या लाईक करके अपनी सहमति जताते हैं.

Loudspeakers- कुछ ही देर पहले मेरी सहेली मणि का फोन आया. अरे !! आवाज ही नही पहचानी गई.. मैने पूछा क्या हुआ… पर आवाज ही नही निकल रही थी कल तक तो ठीक थी एक ही दिन में …. !!! मैं  तुरंत उसके घर गई. उसकी तो आवाज बिल्कुल  ही बंद थी.

मैने गुस्से मे कहा कि कितनी बार मना किया है बर्फ मत खाया कर … उसने  मायूस सा होते हुए इशारे से बताया कि नही खाई. फिर मैने पूछा खट्टी चटनी ?? उसने फिर  न की मुद्रा मे गर्दन हिला दी !! अरे तो फिर हुआ क्या? उसने लिख कर बताया कि कल किसी समारोह मे गए थे वहां डीजे पर  गाने बहुत तेज आवाज मे बज रहे थे. वहां बहुत जानकार भी मिले और उनसे बात भी करनी थी इसलिए महा भयंकर शोर मे कान के पास चिल्ला चिल्ला कर बोलना पडा इसलिए गला बैठ गया.

ओह ..नो !! इस पर उसने लिखा अरे तू क्यो लिख रही है मेरे कान तो ठीक है … ह हा हा !! मैने कहा ये भी एक बडा चिंता का विषय है. कान फूडू संगीत भी आज कल स्टेटस सिंबल बन गया है. कुछ दिन पहले मै भी एक प्रोग्राम मे गई  वहां भी बहुत तेज संगीत बज रहा था इस पर जब  मालिक से बोला कि क्या संगीत की ध्वनि धीमे  हो सकती है  इस पर वो बोले अजी आप कमाल करती हैं इतने पैसे खर्च किए हैं डीजे के लिए…  आवाज  कम नही होगी..

और पूरे कार्यक्रम में हम इशारों मे ही बात करते रहे… या फिर वटस अप पर मैसेज भेज कर बाते करते रहे. मेरी सहेली ने जब अपना मोबाईल देखा तो बीस मिस्ड काल थी उसके पति बाहर बुलाने के लिए कर रहे थे… पर सुनाई ही नही दिया…मैने सलाह दी कि ऐसे मे वाईब्रेशन पर लगा देना चाहिए और मोबाईल हाथ में पकडे रहना चाहिए.

वैसे  वो भी अच्छा अनुभव था. मूड खराब करने का कोई फायदा नही क्योकि लोग नही सुधरेंगें पर हम नई नई भाषा जरुर सीख जाएगे.

Be kind to your ears, listen quietly

Give it a try, turn the volume down a little, and once you get used to listening quietly, turn it down a little more. Granted, quiet listening works best in quiet places; in noisy environments stick with in-ear, closed-back, or noise-canceling headphones. Avoid ear buds and open-back headphones, they don’t hush external noise so you have to play music a lot louder than you might realize.

If you do the bulk of your listening in noisy places, continuing with ear buds (the type that come with phones) may eventually lead to hearing loss from continued exposure over a long period of time to excessively loud sound. I covered how ear buds, in-ear, and closed- and open-back headphones work and how they differ on previous blogs.

If you have to listen in noisy places or while commuting, consider buying in-ear or closed-back full-size headphones to seal out noise. When you reduce the background noise level competing with the music, you can turn the music’s volume way down, and the difference can be very significant. Even inexpensive closed-back or in-ear headphones will help you listen more quietly.

I find with the better-sounding in-ear and closed-back headphones I can listen at a much lower volume and still not feel like I’m losing detail or the music’s energy. Quiet listening draws me in more, so I listen more attentively. Once you get used to listening quietly it will become the new norm, and your ears will suffer less listening fatigue.

Noise-canceling headphones block more noise than any other type of headphone, so you can turn the music down even more, but most noise-canceling models don’t sound as good playing music as equivalently priced closed-back headphones. See more…

Indian Women का नाम जहन में आते ही हमारे समक्ष ऐसी महिला की छवि उभर कर आती है जिसने पहनी हो border वाली साड़ी, माथे पर हो बड़ी सी बिन्दी और हाथों में हो रंगबिरंगी चूडि़यों की खनखनाहट। दया, ममता, करूणा से सरोबार ऐसी Indian Women को देख कर मन अनायास ही नतमस्तक हो जाता है।
सच, Indian Women की तो बात ही खास है। श्रंृगार ही उसका गहना है। मीठी, मोहक मुस्कुराहट लिए वो अपने घर परिवार में, बड़े-बुजुर्गों में, नाते रिश्तेदारों में पूरी तरह रम जाती है। इंडियन वामेन जानती है कि जो श्रंृगार की सामग्री जैसे नथ, टीका, पायल जिसे वो धारण कर रही है उसे सिर्फ शरीर से ही नहीं बलिक दिल में भी धारण कर चुकी है क्योंकि उसके लिए दिखावे की सुन्दरता नहीं बलिक असली सुन्दरता दिल के अन्दर छिपी हुर्इ है तभी तो वो जानती है उन आभूषणों की महिमा जिन्हें वो धारण करती है। जैसे :-
कड़े यानि कड़े जो वो सिर्फ सुन्दरता के लिए धारण नहीं करती बलिक वह जानती है कड़े का अर्थ है किसी से कड़े अथवा कटु वचन ना बोलें।

अंगुली में धारण किए जाने वाले छल्ले का मतलब है कि किसी से छल-कपट ना करें।

आंखों में लगाया जाने वाला काजल सदा यही कहता है कि शील का जल बनाए रखें यानि आंखों में शर्म रूपी पानी हमेशा बना रहे।

टीका हमेशा यही संदेश देता है कि यश का टीका मस्तक पर बना रहे।

Indian Women जानती है कि कर्णफूल सिर्फ लगाने से ही सुन्दरता नहीं बढ़ जाएगी बलिक कर्ण यानि कानों से सिर्फ दूसरों की प्रशंसा ही सुनेगी और किसी की बुरार्इ में बिल्कुल हिस्सा नहीं लेगी।

हंसली हमेशा यह दिखाती है कि हमेशा हंसमुख रहें। कभी किसी भी बात से किसी का मन ना दुखने दे।
Indian Women कमरबंद जब बांधती हैं तो मन ही मन यह संकल्प भी लेती है कि वो हमेशा सतकर्म यानि अच्छे कर्मों के लिए तैयार रहती है।

मोहनमाला धारण करते हुए उसके मन में सिर्फ एक ही बात रहती है कि अपने सदगुणों से वो सभी का मन मोह ले।

बंदनी का श्रंृगार वो बहुत दिल से करती है लेकिन वो इसका अर्थ भी जानती है कि बंदना करे अर्थात अपने पति, अपने गुरूजन की वो वंदना करेगी और उन्हें सदैव उचित आदर-मान देगी।

Indian Women का सबसे प्रिय आभूषण है पायल जोकि पांव में पहनी जाती है वो जानती है कि पायल का अर्थ क्या है पायल का सीधा सादा सा अर्थ है बड़े-बुजर्ुगों के चरण स्पर्श करना यानि झुक कर रहना जिसे वो दिल से करती है और हमेशा करती रहेगी।
तो देखा, ये है Indian Women । जो ना सिर्फ आभूषण धारण करती है बलिक उन्हें पूरी जिन्दगी अपनाती भी है। धन्य है Indian Women

No Parking

भारत की ज्यादातर आबादी पार्किंग की समस्या से जूझ रही है। निसंदेह, वाहनों की आबादी इतनी बढती जा रही है कि खडे करने को जगह नही और तो और इस भयंकर गर्मी में और भी एक समस्या देखने को मिल रही है… असल में, वो क्या है ना कि भयंकर गर्मी के चलते  लोग खुले मे कार खडी करने को मजबूर है क्योकि अब पेड  तो रहे नही और लोग वाहन खडा करके खुद ए सी रूम में चले जाते हैं और लाखों की कार  बाहर खडी तपती रहती है. मजबूरी में लोग ‘नो पार्किंग’ वाली जगहों पर गाड़ियां खड़ी करते हैं..

ऐसे मे इन महाशय ने ये जगह खरीद ली है. और पेड के छांव  में इन्होने पार्किंग के रेट भी बढा दिए हैं  और जो भी कोई आसपास खडा हो जाता है उसे धमका भी देते हैं …

Parking Problems in India and Their Solutions | My India

India is facing a new problem nowadays – lack of sufficient parking space. With families getting smaller and the total number of motor vehicles exceeding the total number of heads per family, the parking scenario is woefully falling short of the current requirements in the country. The situation is such that on any given working day approximately 40% of the roads in urban India are taken up for just parking the cars. The problem has been further exacerbated by the fact that nowadays even people from low income group are able to own cars. The number of families with cars has become much more than what the country is able to manage.

As it is, the cities in India are highly congested and on top of that the parked cars claim a lot of space that could otherwise be used in a better way. Thanks to poor, and at times zero, navigability, Indian cities are regarded as some of the worst options for living. One can also add the issue of pollution to this mix and understand the enormity of the crisis. In this context it needs to be understood that the Indian cities, with the possible exception of Chandigarh, were never planned in such a way so as to accommodate a deluge of cars as is the situation now. The apathy of present day urban planners has only made the situation worse.

Possible Solutions to the Menace

There are some other ways to solve car parking issues, such as multi-level car parking. Multi-level car parking is of two types – conventional and automated. Conventional multi-level car parking can be done anywhere – over the ground or under it. The open parking areas are more preferred as opposed to closed areas in case of parking above the ground as specialised fire protection systems and mechanical ventilation are not needed in this case. Automated multi-level car parking is more difficult to achieve in India considering the fact that it is entirely technology driven and does not involve much human element. As it stands now, India and Indians might not be ready for this technology. The more conventional option seems to be the better bet. Read more…

बात राखी की …

कुछ् समय पहले राखी की दुकान पर एक महिला कार से उतरी और दुकान दार से बोली सबसे मंहगी राखी दिखाओ. राखी देखते हुए बोली पिछ्ली बार भी नग वाली राखी लेकर गई थी. भईया ने दस मिनट भी नही पहनी क्योकि उसके नग निकल गए थे कोई और अच्छी और महंगी राखी दिखाओ जिसके नग न निकले.  बहुत देर माथा पच्ची के बाद और ठंडा कोल्ड ड्रिक पी कर दुकान दार ने सबसे महंगी राखी देकर विदा किया.

.वही एक अन्य महिला आई और उसने खूबसूरत डोरी खरीदी. दुकानदार के पूछ्ने पर वो बोली कि पिछ्ले साल भी जो डोरी लेकर गई थी भईया ने बहुत महीने तक पहने रखी इसलिए डोरी ही ले कर जाऊगी ताकि भईया की कलाई पर ज्यादा से ज्यादा समय तक वो सजी रहे  .

सच, बात मंहगी सस्ती की नही ,प्यार की होती है. ऐसे में दिखावा न हो तो त्योहार मनाने का मजा आए

First off, I have a disclaimer. I wrote "TRADITIONALLY" up there because I currently have no idea how to be a self-published author. I'm sure someday I will know how to be a self-published author, but I am honestly:

1. Not organized enough to be a self-published author
2. Way too cheap to hire people to edit, copy edit, design, and market. Seriously. I am so cheap that I am having a hard time justifying conditioner even though my hair is currently a tangled mess. I also need a haircut. But again. I am cheap. It's kind of a problem. I grew up super poor so I always worry about running out of money. Being a writer for a living has not helped with this issue.

Sigh.

Back on Track: Also, I think a lot of the steps are similar because whether or not you are a tradionally published author or a self-published author you have to write a book. Right?

The Steps.

1. You Have to Want It

Seriously. You have to want to be published enough to devote time to it.
Talking about writing does not equal wanting it.
Writing words down somewhere?
That equals wanting it.

2. You Have to Write

Words have to make their way onto a computer or a notebook or something. You can't publish The Book of Awesome without writing The Book of Awesome.

3. You Have to Read

Reading is studying. We learn the craft by immersing ourselves in the tools of the craft. That means stories and sentences. Words are just symbols of images and objects and actions. It's cool to see how other authors use those symbols, arrange them, pick them out. That's how we learn! Repeat after me: Learning is fun.

4. Do Not Freak Out That You Suck

Everyone sucks. Everyone is brilliant. And almost everyone thinks that they suck and that they are brilliant and that they suck. It's like a cycle. You can't get hung up on how good The Book of Awesome is ESPECIALLY on the first draft. You just have to write and write and write until you get to the end of the first draft because that's where the fun starts.

5. Global Revision is Awesome

No. I am not lying. Revision really is awesome. It's like making a collage. You cut things up, add things in, smell some ModPodge and laquer that whole thing up into something beautiful, something with layer and meaning, something that makes sense. Revision is what saves us all from the suck that is our first draft, and if you think about it as putting a puzzle together or solving THE MYSTERY THAT IS YOUR PLOT or THE MYSTERY OF HOW TO MAKE EVERYONE NOT HATE YOUR MAIN CHARACTER, it's super fun.

Revision is not about hating yourself. Revision is about loving your story enough to step up and make it shine.

6. Line Edits

Okay. Line edits are where I pretend I'm one of those writers that are in movies. You know the kind, right? They worry over every word. They hook-up an IV line of scotch because they use the word "cringe" 87 times in a 1,000 word poem. That sort of thing. Line edits are like when you pretend to be an evil editor, red-lining words out, deleteing images, and all that stuff. It's kind of hot in a sadistic way.

7. Write a Query

This is the part where I used to cry. That's because the writing side of awesome has suddenly turned into the business side of getting noticed. I am a flamboyant person when out in the world, but I am sooooo super shy and soooo horrifying self-deprecating. Like I have a hard time admitting to the fact that I am a best-selling author because it seems braggy to me. I know. I have issues.

Anyway, I hate this part but it is super necessary to getting published.

A query is a letter to an agent or publisher telling them why he or she wants you and your book. It's like speed dating in 300 words or less and you don't get to wear a cute skirt or lick your lips or anything.

Queryshark is the best resource for this. It's Janet Reid's site. She's an agent. queryshark.blogspot.com

8. Hello? Hello? We Should Be a Couple

Now that you have a query letter, you have to start searching for an agent. An agent represents you and your book, helps you find a home for your book, negotiates contracts, rights and takes about 15% of your earnnings as his or her agent pay. You want an agent who loves your work, tolerates you, that you feel respected by, that communicates with you, that advocates for you.

Basically, you want your agent to be kick ass in a way that doesn't intimidate you but instead compliments you.

Remember to keep track of what agents you send stuff to! Also, do not stalk them.

Just like there are good cops and bad cops, good cheese and bad cheese, there are good agents and bad agents.
A nice place to sort through them is pred-ed.com, which is Preditors and Editors.

A good way to find them is agentquery.com

9. Shove Your Baby Out the Door

Now that you have:
1. A book
2. A query letter
3. Agents to send it to

You have to shove your book baby out into the big world. Do that.

Remember to:
1. Follow the agents' guidelines about how many pages of your book that they want with the query letter.
2. Not seem like a stalker, but seem like you know a little something about the agent's other clients, or likes.
3. Be detail oriented. Follow all those guidelines about submissions that the agent has posted out there. Really. This is not the time to be a quirky cupcake by writing YOU WANT ME AND YOU KNOW IT WE BELONG TOGETHER as teh subject line in your email query.

10. Wait Forever

You will probably have to wait forever to hear anything from your potential Best Agent in the World about the Book of Awesome. This is normal. This is annoying. Try not to stress. Realize that when you do stress it is normal to stress.

Write while you wait.

11. Accept What Happens

Sometimes your Book of Awesome will not find a Best Agent in the World. This does not mean you suck. Repeat after me: I do not suck.

It just means what then?

It means nothing, honestly. Publishing is weird and slow and subjective. A book nobody notices can become a international bestseller in a couple years.

So... if everyone says no, you must just keep writing. Query a little more, but in the meantime write another book. If you want to write as a career, you have to treat it as a career, and keep producing words, refining your craft, practicing your trade. If you are already working on other Books of Awesome, it makes it much easier to deal with Book One of Awesome being rejected.

If an agent asks for a FULL, this means she wants to see the whole entire Book One of Awesome. Send it. If they like it they will probably call you. Try to be cool about this. It will be hard.

If an agent asks for a full, calls, and then offers to represent you...

1. Do a happy dance.
2. Do the happy dance silently so the agent doesn't hear whooping noises.
3. Tell them you'd like a little time to think about it.
4. Think about it or at least pretend to.
5. Keep dancing.
6. Accept offer.
7. If you have queries out to other agents, send them a quick note saying you've accepted representation somewhere else and thank them for their time and consideration.
8. Dance more.
9. Wait while your agent send out Book of Awesome to publishers.
10. Try not to stress. This is called Being on Sub (submission) and it is super stressful.
11. Keep writing.
12. If you get an offer from a publisher - Boom! You are golden. Your agent will craft that offer with you and - Booyah. You are traditionally published.

Please remember to be nice throughout the whole process. It's stressful. Life is stressful, but try to be kind even when you are in the pits of rejection despair. It's super important.

I will try to write more blogs about writing instead of just posting pictures of my dogs and snow, but posting pictures of my dogs and snow is so much more fun. Less helpful though, I know. 

Pay attention to the good in your life. You may have more than you realize.

It’s easy to pay attention to the painful moments, the hard things, the things that bring you down. They grab our attention, grip us tightly, tear at us. And sometimes, especially if we’ve had a lot of pain, abuse, or trauma in our lives, it can be hard to notice the good things that happen. The little things and the big things that all add up to help us appreciate being alive.

The hug from a friend. The friendly lick from a cat or dog. The smile from a stranger. Someone telling us they appreciate our work. Someone telling us we have a nice smile. Laughing with friends. Good food. Finding that book we want. Reading a good book. Time with friends.

I’m going to try to make an effort to focus more on the good in my life–and I hope you’ll join me.

This can be a hard time of year for many people, so I thought I’d post more positive messages for people again–selfies along with the messages, so people can see the person (and author) behind the message. I think it helps make it more personal and real.

I’m just waking up on Giudecca Island to a volley of sights and sounds – a deliverance from the cathartic, but brooding history of Rome, from where we just came. Here, in Venice, I imagine I’m in a living painting, and an artist, with his paintbrush in hand, captures me peeking out my window – just now at the Hilton Molino Stucky, his studio across the way.

Outside, I hear the echoing serenade of tolling church bells, which I can pinpoint with my own eyes, to various steeples throughout the city that traipse along the river. Splashing waves steadily rise and fall onto green and blue algae-covered seawalls, looming directly below me, while power boats dot the landscape like steed on an aqua-colored field, gliding in various directions through the water carrying townspeople and holiday tourists about the city. And, in the foggy haze, we’re graced with this omnipotent view – and it occurs to me, I must be Dickens’ modern Venice in his “Italian Dream.”

If you’re writing a novel, you have something you want–or maybe need–to say. Something that’s important to you. Keep going! Keep writing, listening to your heart and letting the words flow from your heart to your fingertips, and out into your pen or your keyboard.

When you’re writing a first draft (or editing a second or fifth or tenth draft), there’s often a point about mid-way or three-quarters of the way through when you start to feel exhaustion from working so hard, or you may even start doubting your work. But don’t listen to that. You have something you need to say. Something that will matter to other people. So keep writing. Keep letting the words spill out onto the page. Someday, that novel may reach other people and change their lives for the better. Someday, your words may help others know that they’re not alone, or things can get better, or they may just help someone else escape from something painful in their life for a while and gain a little good feeling.

So keep going. Don’t stop now. You can do it!

This was my first year taking part in #NaNoWriMo (though I’ve written and published 6 books), and I LOVED it.

I love writing quickly. I always write first drafts of my books quickly; I think it keeps me firmly in my writing mode, where I’m deeply connected to my creativity, inner voice, and what I need to say, rather than my editor mode, where I’m looking at the language and content and picking it apart to make it stronger and better. I think first drafts are meant to be written quickly, so we stay in the hearts and minds of our characters and the writing. At least, that’s what works best for me.

So whether you normally write quickly or not, #NaNoWriMo may be the perfect time to jump into writing flat-out fast, getting all the words out on the page before the editor in your head chimes in. The perfect time to keep the words flowing forward.

Write what you want, what you need. Enjoy it! And if you reach your 50,000-word goal for #NaNoWriMo this year, take heart in seeing “winner” pop up after you validate your manuscript, or watching the video of other writers cheering and clapping you on. Writing can be such a solitary endeavor; I wish we always had “winner” pop up and a cheering crowd for every new book and every new draft we completed. But we can imagine our own cheerleaders, or let our friends know and celebrate with them.

Keep writing. Enjoy the process. You can do this!

And then take a well-deserved break. I know I am. (smiling)
