Nothing gets me in the Christmas spirit like seeing store displays and signage signaling it’s time for the holidays again!
One of my favorite things to design is holiday-themed items… postcards, emails, packaging, invitations, point-of-sale graphics, illustrations, FREE WALLPAPERS (hint hint… scroll down!)… You name it. It’s a blast! Here are a few examples of past holiday-themed design work I’ve been blessed to create…

After some great feedback from my colleagues here is a new version. I’m echoing the color scheme of my favorite “Serif” hat from Veer.com. Also, I took off the background texture to make the site less busy (it competed with the work) and reduced the number of browns in my palette.
Let me know what you think…

As I move my illustration to it’s own site, I’m needing to change the look and feel of my design site. I’m loosing the ‘crayon box’ look and should be moving to a Wordpress-driven design.
Here’s my concept – please let me know what you think. Thanks!

Here are various examples of Flash designs I’ve created over the years. I don’t do much action-scripting or development, but as far as a presentation tool, I can hold my own. Take a look…
First, an example from an online course I helped create on Web design. This example tracks a user’s typical eye movement around a webpage: design_eyeflow
Another example from the same course, this is an interactive module showing 4 distinct design motifs a Web designer may use: Design_4styles
Here is an animated vignette I storyboarded and designed for the Focus on the Family Institute: ffi_flash_v1.1
Another Web vignette introducing users to the benefits of using ForMinistry.com. Created in 2001: ForMinistry_2.1
Here is a personal experiment in interactivity, developing drag-and-drop functionality using Flash 5 and creating refridgerator magnet poetry: fridgepoetry
Another web vignette concept, created for Victory Outreach back in the early 2000s while on staff at HighPoint Solutions: utc_tour
While working at HighPoint, we also created an online course on e-learning for World Vision International. Here is an animation explaining the concept of Asynchronous E-Learning: wvi_asynch

I was contacted by an associate of Lynda Meeks, the author of the Penelope Pilot book I illustrated. My client needed something engaging for kids and military pilot moms, so the artwork had to be “cool” too. ;)
Take a look and let me know your thoughts on it.

Wow this came out of nowhere. I follow so many people on Twitter, that if I don’t happen to glace at Tweetdeck now and then, posts just fly by. I happened to glance at a tweet from political super-blogger and pundit Michelle Malkin today. Her post asked for someone to do a quick Photoshop job of Harry Reid… now, despite my contracting for Vote iQ, which is fiercely non-partisan, I don’t really do much political design. I’ve done a few poli cartoons in the past, but the vitriol they tend to generate made me think twice. All that to say, I really don’t know much about Harry Reid, other than that I always see banners calling for his termination. I tend to be more libertarian yet conservative when it comes to politics, but as a Christian, I know that no human system will be the end-all and be-all of world peace or prosperity.
I just stepped up to the challenge, not knowing who the two folks were but thinking there might be some excitement out there, and I admit, I wanted to show off some killer Photoshop skills. And if more people come check out VoteiQ because of it, then all the better! This is what I did… it took all of 5 minutes, but it got a heck of a response on Twitter!
