1. What I'm Reading and Books I've Received

I'm still reading Beautiful Creatures.  It's such a big book, that I'm trying to savor each detail and don't want to get to the end.  Ever feel that way with books?  Thankfully most of my TV shows are going on LONG hiatuses, so I'm hoping I can get some decent reading in.  I know there are quite a few bloggers out there reading Beautiful Creatures.  How long does it take you to read such a long book?

Books Received this week:

Slow week, which was good.

Never After, Daniel Elconin.  He contacted me directly and he made such a impassioned plea for me to consider this book for review.  I'm such a huge fan of Peter Pan, that I jumped on it and thanked him immensely for giving me the chance to review this book.  The thing that really drew me to Dan is that he's a teenager!  I just read his acknowledgement and it is really kick-ass.

2. What I'm reading and books I've received...

I'm still plugging away with Leviathan.  I haven't read much this week at all.  However, I did see New Moon at the Thursday premiere and again yesterday.  I absolutely LOVED it.  So much better than Twilight.  Taylor Lautner really surprised me.  He was excellent.  Although, I think I liked him a bit better before he cut his hair.  I absolutely loved how they handled the three months where Bella is pretty much catatonic.  For those of you who haven't seen it, I will not spoil it for you.  But they did a great job with it.  My only issue was the soundtrack, it seemed pretty non-existant!  There were glorious overtures and the like, but the actual music that is on the soundtrack was pretty weak.

Okay, now to the crux of the post.  Books I received this week!  I actually did pretty well this week.  Receiving all books from publishers.

From Penguin:

Betrayals: A Strange Angels Novel, Lili St. Crow
Classy: Be a Lady not a Tramp, Derek Blasberg
In the Courts of the Sun, Brian D'Amato

From Harper Collins (Canada):

Before I Fall, Lauren Oliver
Wayfarer, RJ Anderson
Life of Glass, Jillian Cantor
Tangled, Carolyn Mackler
The Girl with Mermaid Hair, Delia Ephron
Hourglass, Claudia Gray

I hope everyone had a great week and what were your thoughts on the New Moon movie? Thumbs up or down?

3. What I'm Reading and Books I've received this week... (7)

I am currently reading Leviathan, by the wonderful Scott Westerfeld.  I'm only on chapter three so no opinion on it so far.  My only problem is I'm not sure if it's MG or YA.  But hopefully that will present itself as I get further along in the story.

So at first I thought this week was a pretty weak week in books (heh, that sounds so wierd!), but as I think about it, I got some decent books this week!  These are all from the publishers and they are for review:

From Bloomsbury:

Magic Under Glass, Jaclyn Dolamore

From Penguin:

Why I Let My Hair Grow Out
How I Found The Perfect Dress, Maryrose Wood

From Scholastic: (A total surprise here!)

Raiders' Ransom, Emily Diamand

So a good week.  I'm expecting some books hopefully next week and I will share with you when they arrive!

4. What I'm reading and Books I've received this week

I've been lax in doing this and I can't even remember what number I'm up to!  However, what I am reading is:

Poison Study, Maria V. Snyder

I am LOVING this book so far.  I've heard nothing but awesome reviews regarding this story and I'm so glad that I finally found it!  Trying to buy this book has been treacherous!  Borders never had it.  B&N didn't stock it, and I am such an instant gratification girl that I when I want something I want it NOW!  So finally the other day, when I went in hunt for Splendor (which was Monday and they hadn't put it out yet).  So I so that they finally had it and had to scoop it up!  If you haven't read this book, I say go and get it.  I'm not nearly finished with it, but OMIGOD, it's so good.  And a little aside, I met Maria at BEA, but not because she was signing, because she was WAITING IN LINE to get Justine Larbalestier's book, Liar signed!  She was so cool and talked to us for the whole time we waited.  I've e-mailed her back and forth and she really is the sweetest person.  So if you have a chance to see her at a signing, GO! You will be rewarded!

Books I received this week:

Splendor, Anna Godbersen (Bought)
Covet, JR Ward (Bought)
Poison Study, Maria V. Snyder (Bought)
Stupid Cupid, Rhonda Stapleton (Publisher)
College Girl, Patricia Weitz (Publicist)

5. What I'm Reading and Books I've received this week... (4)

I still haven't finished SPROUT.  But I started AS YOU WISH, by Jackson Pearce.  Which is really cute so far. I am enjoying it.  Still dealing with a sick household, but I'm feeling better and the little one is feeling better.  Hubby is still dealing with a horrible cold which thankfully is not pneumonia! or the Oink Oink Flu! :)

I've only received one book this week and it was from Scholastic and I picked it out for my stepson.  It's a Star Wars book that I really can't remember the name of.  But Darth Vader is on the cover.

I know I've been lax on posting, but some of you have been lax on commenting!  Comments = Love!  I'm going to be having a giveaway soon, but I want to make sure that people are reading the blog.   So I'm going to ask you a question.  Which Book Should I give away????

Please comment below:

1.  Along for the Ride

2.  The Map of the Known World

3. Lips Touch

4.  The Magicians

Okay, you decide which book will be up for grabs!

6. What I'm Reading and Books I've received this week... (3)

I'm still reading Sprout.  Haven't really done much reading at all this week because we've all been sick.  I hate being sick.  I was supposed to meet up with friends in NYC tomorrow and I can't make it because we're all sick here:(

Well I received two books in the mail this week.

From Yan:

As you Wish, Jackson Pearce

From Scholastic:

Lips Touch, Laini Taylor

I'm currently reading and really enjoying Sprout, Dale Peck. I am absolutely loving this book and loving Sprout's voice. He's funny, sarcastic, self deprecating, and maybe just a bit brilliant.

Dale Peck's writing is brilliant so far and I'm really interested to see where Sprout takes me.

I've also received some books in the mail this week, not many but thought I'd list them.  If I can remember what I have received!

The Everafter, Amy Huntley
From Goodreads:

Madison Stanton doesn't know where she is or how she got there. But she does know this--she is dead. And alone, in a vast, dark space. The only company she has in this place are luminescent objects that turn out to be all the things Maddy lost while she was alive. And soon she discovers that with these artifacts, she can re-experience--and sometimes even change--moments from her life: Her first kiss. A trip to Disney World. Her sister's wedding. A disastrous sleepover.

In reliving these moments, Maddy learns illuminating and sometimes frightening truths about her life--and death.

Girl in the Arena, Lise Haines
From Goodreads:
Lyn is a neo-gladiator’s daughter, through and through.  Her mother has made a career out of marrying into the high-profile world of televised blood sport, and the rules of the Gladiator Sports Association are second nature to their family.  Always lend ineffable confidence to the gladiator.  Remind him constantly of his victories. And most importantly: Never leave the stadium when your father is dying. The rules help the family survive, but rules—and the GSA—can also turn against you. When a gifted young fighter kills Lyn’s seventh father, he also captures Lyn’s dowry bracelet, which means she must marry him... For fans of The Hunger Games and Fight Club, Lise Haines’ debut novel is a mesmerizing look at a world addicted to violence—a modern world that’s disturbingly easy to imagine.

Some really interesting books that I can't wait to delve into!

8. What I'm Reading and Books I've received this week...

I'm currently reading HUSH, HUSH by Becca Fitzpatrick and honestly, this book is absolutely wonderful! I'm just tearing through this one and can't wait until it's released so all of you can read it. I need to thank Kathy B for sending me HER signed copy of the book to borrow. I'll probably get this book back to her in no time!

I've received some books in the mail via publishers:

Liar, Justine Larbalestier
Catching Fire, Suzanne Collins (I received two copies, finished, and I'm sending one to a blogger who is a Librarian and can't get the book for her school due to money issues. So I'm donating it to the school!)

I bought three books:

Coffeehouse Angel, Suzanne Selfors
Into the Wild, Sarah Beth Durst (I met her at the Sarah signing and she's originally from two towns away from me!)
Dreamfever, Karen Marie Moning. (I broke down and bought the fourth book in the MacKayla Lane series. This is adult, but it's SOOOOOOOO good.)

There are so many good books that are out there right now, please go to your local library, or bookstore and buy whatever you can find. I've seen CRAZY/BEAUTIFUL at BORDERS already. PROPHECY OF THE SISTERS is out, EYES LIKE STARS, SHIVER, LAMENT. All of these books are fantastic and they're all waiting to be purchased!
