The High King's Tomb (Green Rider, Book 3) by Kristen Britain
Rating: This is the third book in the series and I was excited to read it. However, I decided to stop about half-way. The first two were pretty clean, but this one has many innuendos and the themes seemed to be generally more adult. I don't remember anything explicit, but then I didn't read the whole thing. I was disappointed that the series went in this direction.
Description: Karigan is a seasoned member of the Green Riders, the magic weilding messenger service. The entire kingdom is under threat from the second empire and without knowing when Mornhavon will attack again, it is imperative that Karigan and the others prepare to face their enemies.

Magic by Heart by Amy Gordon
Rating:
I honestly don't know what to say other than the book was extremely bizarre but clean.

Poor Little Witch Girl by Marie Desplechin
Rating:
The book was clean, but the characters weren't very likeable and they were all a bit bratty. Each of the four main characters told their side of the story, which was fun. But I didn't care enough about the story for it to matter that much. It did talk about normal teenage boy/girl and parent/child issues, but it talked about it through the problem of witchcraft. So if you like books to have more meaning, it may be a good book to read.

But when Verbena's talent manifests itself, her mom couldn't be happier. Verbena refuses to learn more about her powers until she discovers that it may be able to help her find her dad.

A Great and Terrible Beauty (The Gemma Doyle Trilogy) by Libba Bray
Rating:
This book wasn't really appropriate for younger readers. There was some swearing, some sexual references, the main girls drank, one of the girls cut herself, they talked about same sex relations, and there was brief nudity. The story was well written and the background interesting, but there were just too many unnecessary elements.
Description:
Gemma Doyle always dreamed of moving to England and being with people her own age. But when she watched her mother die by her own hand, she learned that getting what you wish for is not always a good thing. Once in England, Gemma was enrolled at the finishing school her mother once attended, and was forced to live with mean vindictive girls. Haunted by her mothers death, Gemma started experiencing strange visions that further alienated her from her peers. Scandals and secrecy finally united Gemma with a small group of girls, and together they formed The Order. The Order dabbled in magic and the other realms, and a costly mistake released evil into the world. Gemma must find the strength to forgive her mother and restore order, before Circe takes over the world.
