3. In Style

I'm in the middle of working on some new artwork. Actually, I have several pieces in progress at the same time. It's coming along slowly and hopefully it won't take me forever to finish.

I'm still not sure what color her dress is going to be so I plan to take my color swatch and go scouting for papers tomorrow. I'm still working on the background so I have her taped up in the middle to get a feel of the background with her in it.

I got this sheet music from an estate sale I went to with a friend. It's from 1916 and I couldn't help but snatch it up for this project.

4. Perspective

8x10 mixed media

Here is some fun new artwork I did using paper and acrylic. I went straight to my paper scraps for all the glasses which is pretty fun just to mix and match patterns. Can you tell I love funky and fun glasses? I seriously think I would wear each of these (maybe for each day of the week). I've been thinking I need to get a back up pair very soon before disaster hits.

I think a phonograph and single record is a
great combination for a love story.

6. Curious and New Work

Here is some new work...

This new piece ended up being another 8x10 and the materials I used were paper (mostly Basic Grey), dye ink (chocolate chip color), and matte medium (Golden brand). I haven't decided if I am going to sell the original so for now I scanned it and added the text.

I don't know why but this just doesn't seem like the kind of thing people would want to buy as an original or print. What are your thoughts?

7. February Artist Market

Saturday, February 6, 2010  11am - 6pm
548 W. 19th St. On the Wind Water Gallery parking lot.
Come say "Hi" to me if you are in the area.

 "Adventures" 24 X 21 paint & paper

"Tree Bird" 24 X 22 paper

What do you think of my glorified prints? I call them that because they are just prints on wood frames I made.

8. Fun Clock and Dreams

Here is a cutesy clock I made out of paper and a bit of paint. It was fun and the fact it actually tells time is the kicker! When I put the battery in and the little hands started working I actually squealed out loud. Isn't it funny how little things like that makes us giddy?

Oh, here is a piece I will be selling at the First Saturday's Artist Market on Saturday. You guys know I love to do paper hands and paper letters so this was super fun for me.

Have a wonderful weekend!

10. Explore Mixed Media Collage

Here is a new little something I finished not so long ago...

As you can see from the pictures below I couldn't get the whole piece on my scanner because it's 15X12. I used a reclaimed piece of wood and added layer and layers of paper and paint.

now lets go explore something!

11. Psalms 63:4 Finished

I finished this piece today and took some blurry pictures of it. My camera is going downhill because I have two boys that will not leave it alone. The poor lens seems destined to forever have kid's fingerprints on it!

I was happy to finish up the piece for James and am looking forward to dropping it off at the benefit held at my parent's church.

40X40 wood frame (yep, I made it) paper, paint and dye ink. Lots of love and elbow grease are added into the mix.
