1. The Percy Jackson Graphic Novel, The Redwall Graphic Novel, Plus Capt'n Eli, Jack Kirby, and The Incredibles

A lot of reader guys have wondered when the Percy Jackson graphic novel will come out and I got an answer last week from D.A. Tyo. She gave us a link that gives all the info, so check it out. It'll come out at the same time as the new Camp Half Blood series. As I said before, this year will be a good time to be a Rick Riordan fan! (I can't show you a cover because it hasn't been created yet)

Speaking of graphic novels, Darth Bill sent us a comment reminding us that there's a Redwall graphic novel:

I have only read the first Redwall book, but I really enjoyed it. Also just to let you know, the first book has also been adapted into a graphic novel that is available at the library. Ops, sorry gotta go. Have some darn Jedi to deal with!!!!

Darth Bill!!!!!!

Must be a tough life as a sith lord, always looking over your shoulder for Jedi. Anyway, Bill wrote about that gn a while back. I have not read the Redwall graphic novel, but Bill did and you can see his review here. Good to hear from you again, man! Send us more comments when you're not souping up your T.I.E. fighter.
Speaking of graphic novels that Bill liked, I am forever in his debt for turning me on to the Capt'n Eli series. A new one is supposed to come out his year, although the Capt'n Eli website doesn't say when. I'll be waiting excitedly until then! I've just reread the second one, The Mystery of the Sargasso Sea and enjoyed it a lot! Jay Piscopo creates a Silver Age style universe but doesn't just copy the old masters--he keeps the stories fresh and exciting. You can find a link to the Capt'n Eli website in the list of links on the left-hand side of the page.

Speaking of the old masters, none was more masterful that Jack "King " Kirby. I've been reading Marvel Visionaries Jack Kirby and, man, is that artwork AWESOME!! I mean, that word is overused these days, but no one has ever created artwork that truly inspired awe like Jack Kirby. Look at the stories about Galactus, Thor and the High Evolutionary, The Inhumans, and the Eternals and see if your jaw doesn't drop in awe-struck wonder. There are other stories too--old stories from the '40's and '5o's (including the very first Captain America story), an action-packed World War II adve

3. Jedi Mind Tricks, Jay Piscopo's Visit in April, Science Fair

Tis a sad day for the "Boys Rule Boys Read Blog." I'm looking at this poll Jedi Master Zack put up and it is showing yours truly as the leading candidate for the "Girl Book" crime in the Boys Read Section of the library. I would also point out that Jedi Master Zack put this poll up. Is it not curious how he accuses everyone in this poll but himself (just think about it). Jedi are notorious for manipulating other, check it out:

This is from Star Wars Episode 4 "A New Hope." This clip from the movie clearly shows how Luke and Obi-Wan hedge the truth and use mind control on some honest, hardworking Stormtroopers just doing their jobs to keep from being arrested for possessing droids that are in fact not theirs, but the Empire's!!!!!

I apologize to Ellen, now that this new evidence has come to light, and would now like to reveal the true culprit of this crime.......Jedi Master Zack!!!!

Just appalling isn't it!!!! Typical Jedi behavior if you ask this Sith, sigh ):

Lastly, I want to share my review with you of Science Fair. This is an awesome book!!!!!!

Science Fair by Dave Berry & Ridley Pearson -

This book is too funny!!!!!!! Imagine if you will a story that involves 3 fairly normal kids (although not in the popular set at school - how many of you can identify with that): Toby (the main character), Tamara and Micah. Now throw in a very small and poor country named Krpshtskan, ruled by Grdankl the strong - son of Bmepl the Brave and grandson of Kminkt the Good at Remembering Names, bent on destroying the <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 />United States of America. Other necessary ingredients include a science fair project entry that involves floating a pet frog named Fester, various government agencies in hot pursuit of the kids, police in hot pursuit of a Wienermobile, an ally in a mad scientist who constructs things you would not believe and a Science Fair held at a middle school that brings the United Sates to it's knees. The last ingredients would be a rather large hairy man known as the Wookie and an individual convinced he is Darth Vader battling Toby's father dressed as Luke Skywalker and his mom dressed as Princess Lea (Jabba the Hutt Slave Costume) and just so much more stuff I don't have room to write about. This is a Very Funny Book and I highly recommended it along with everyone else who has reviewed it on this Blog and others!!!!!!<?xml:namespace prefix = o />

Well I guess that's allot of stuff for one post, but man is it great stuff!!!!! Until next time all,

Bill otherwise known as (Lt. Y)

4. Sad, Sad, Sad but happy on Literary Agreement!!!

Hello all,

It is with some shock and a bit of sadness I have to ask Jedi Master Zack to stop his petty personal attacks. If you go back and look at my earlier post you will see it was something I dug up prior to the Boys Rule Boys Read Blog. He reports that I have been demoted, which could not be further from the truth, and even altered the ancient Sith Reading Club poster I found. It is with great pride that I now reveal my Sith Master who taught me all I know. The Great and Noble Darth Daffy:

So Jedi Master Zack since we have found agreement in the most excellent "The Undersea Adventures of Capt'n Eli," I will forgive you of this slander on this occurrence. Just don't disrespect the Duck.

Peace all,

Darth Bill

5. Jedi = Shmedi, Capt'n Eli Volume 2 and other Silly Stuff

Hello all, it is I again Darth Bill. I see that I have been publicly bashed by the so called Jedi "Master" Zack!!!! I just want to point out that I am taking the high road in regards to his comments about myself and my fellow Sith. I could say something like - Jedi rarely read any book that has multiple syllable words in them or Jedi only like to read really long books with lots of arguing and lots of camping or even Jedi are just plain stinky. But I am above doing such, so I will not (classy of moi, no?). Sigh, why does "Master" Jedi Zack feel the need to attack me publicly. I guess he is just jealous that I am better looking, but as I said I won't go there for it is below my Sith Honor. One last note about Sith's love of reading. I bet many of you have at times wondered where we got the name for this blog. Well just look at the poster I recently found that was around before we even started this blog:

Amazing isn't it!!!!!!!!!

Okay enough of the Jedi slamming (it's just too easy), here are some really cool books and Graphic Novels I have read lately:

The Undersea Adventures of Capt'n Eli: The Mystery of the Sargasso Sea (Volume 2) by Joe Piscopo - Man with this volume the Capt'n Eli Graphic Novel Series hits another gear and really takes off!!!!! As it was left off in the previous volume Capt'n Eli is still with Commander X aboard his super high tech submarine "Sub Zero." They reach the underwater city of Aquaria only to find it under attack by a race of underwater denizens known as the Outcast. It seems Aquira and it's people are now ruled by Commander X's former World War II partner, known then as The Sea Raider. We also find out that Commander X is Aqurian's sworn Lord Protector and it is his duty to protect them from all threats and enemies. Let's see what else happens in this story, we learn the history of Aquaria and its relationship to Atlantis, we learn the secret origin of the ruler of the Aquarians known by many names such as - Rex Noble, The Sea Raider and The Sea Ghost among others, Lord Hydro is back with all his evilness and Hydrons and much. much more!!!!!!!!!! I promise you if you pick up this Graphic Novel you will be unable to put it down until you have finished reading it and then you will still be wanting more. Look for it in the PLCMC System soon!!!!!!!!!

Also check out these cool video about the Capt'n Eli Graphic Novel Series:

Hulk: The Incredible Guide (Updated Edition) by Tom DeFalco and Mattew Manning - This book is just too cool!!!!! It has the answers to everything you may have wondered about the Incredible Hulk and more stuff you probably did not even have a clue about. This book covers everything Hulk from his creation in the 60s to present day. Along with all the facts about the Hulk, his friends, his enemies, his history, etc., it is loaded with incredible artwork by the various artist that have told his tale from his first appearance to his latest. This really is a must read for true fans of old Greenskin (and other colors to as you will find out if you check this great book of knowledge out).

Marvel Adventures Fantastic Four: Monsters, Moles, Cowboys & Coupons written by Steve Niles, Daniel Way, Kristen Sinclair and Joe Lansdale; art by Leonard Kirk, Steve Scott, David Hahn & Ronan Cliquet - Wow!!!!!!! I really think this is my favorite Marvel Adventures Fantastic Four so far. This volume has it all!!! From a good old slug feast with the Incredible Hulk, to a rough and tough western staring the Ever-Loving-Blue Eyed Thing, along with a comedic shopping story and a soul searching story that asks why does the FF do what they do. Highly recommended!!!!!!!

Well until next time True Believers,

Bill
