1. Sweet Square #7

It's proved difficult to keep this up everyday.
I'm juggling too many balls at the moment.

3. Sweet Square #5

I was too busy yesterday with sketches. Today's painting reflects some disappointing news I got today.
I've done my moping and am ready to move forward. Things will work out the way they're supposed to.

4. Sweet Squares #4

Day 4. I'm really enjoying the freedom of painting something so small with no expectations. Joyful!

You can see who else is participating on Diandra's blog.

5. Sweet Squares #3

Today's square took a bit longer, what with the drying and all.
I used this to plan a painting for an upcoming Halloween show.
You can see the matte medium is still wet.

6. Library Loot and Link Love

This pile might be two visits worth of books. The Mo Willems' Elephant and Piggie series is a huge hit right now with my 3yo. We've also been reading lots of Oliver Jeffers - although The Incredible Book Eating Boy remains my son's favorite (I couldn't pick, really).

And for some Link Love:

Design of the Picture Book : Authored by Carter Higgins, this is a gorgeous blog, devoted to gorgeous, well-designed books. I'll be losing myself here tonight, reading every post.

Sweet Squares : Illustrator Diandra Mae just started a fun month of experimentation called 'Sweet Squares'. I'm joining in the fun. You should too. Let loose for five minutes a day on a 3"x3" square.

8. Sweet Squares

I'm joining my friend, Diandra, in her Sweet Squares project.
She was inspired by Melissa Sweet at the LA SCBWI conference.
Since I have a major art crush on Melissa, I'm joining in. It was so difficult!
She explains it here.

To make me feel better, I'm adding this sketch from the weekend.
