3. John Cusack Playing Edgar Allan Poe

Actor John Cusack will play Edgar Allan Poe (pictured, via) in an upcoming film, The Raven. Today Gawker posted a photo of the actor dressed as the alcoholic author at a shoot. What do you think about the casting choice?

DeadlineNY has more on the film: “Based on an original script by Hannah Shakespeare (I kid you not) and Ben Livingston, the drama is set in the last five days of Poe’s life, when a serial killer is running around Baltimore using Poe’s stories as the backdrops for his killings.”

In addition, Cusack is tweeting about the work of Poe. He recently recommended two Poe stories: “Hop Frog ” and “King Pest.” He also mused: “perhaps- just perhaps–cor. sanders (kfc) and satan had a baby named edgar allen poe.”
