Nadia and Aidan continue their RV adventure with a trip to visit cousins in their dad’s home state of Iowa—just in time for Halloween and Nadia’s birthday! Nadia loves having time to document their discoveries about the Time Tuner. Aidan wants to sword fight with corn.
But what’s a “Wright on thyme”? How does a turtle get to be a Prince? How can you get lost inside a computer? And just what freaky weird Halloween tricks will the Time Tuner play on them?

Okay, so I'm sitting on the chesterfield (that would be the "sofa" for any of you non-Canadians out there), my laptop is on, I'm working. I look up in one of my "thinking moments" where I look like I'm daydreaming, but really my eyes are fixated on something inconsequential so my mind can motor away undistracted, searching for the right nuggets, words, phrases...whatever it is I need to type the next line. I can spend hours going back and forth between this quiet outward state and that of keystroke flurry, but this time (probably because I'm ready for a break), I'm derailed by the stack of picture books on the coffee table.
All those book spines one after another. Spines. What funny little self-contained pieces of book real estate! I've never given much thought to them before, but I suppose, like the rest of the book, *someone* must design them. Interestingly, the books in the stack come from 17 different publishers but they all have one thing in common---the publisher's name or logo appears at the very bottom of the spine. Well, that is except for one book, which happens to be a library book so a postage stamp label bearing the library call number appears there instead.
Hmm. . . library books. . . do spine designers realize the company name or logo will be covered up before it hits the library shelves. . . all of those company names and logos hidden under little white stickers forever? Do they think about that, I wonder? Why not leave the first inch-and-a-half blank and then print the logo and company name so it's visible when on the library shelves for years and years and years? Brand name recognition and all that.
Hmph. Is it simply a case of "we've always done it this way"? Maybe. Or maybe non-spine-designer me just can't think of a good reason.
Oh, well, time to get the brain in gear again---can you hear the gears whirring?

This looks adorable. I’ll be looking for it at the library!
