14. SFG: Goblins, Ghouls and Ghosts

This is an illustration I painted some years ago and thought would fit this weeks theme nicely. I've always really liked this piece, even though the hands didn't turn out right.
Any way I hope to get the chance to do a painting to this topic 'cause I love halloween (and we don't even celebrate it here in Denmark)

#26 - Haunted, originally uploaded by Robot Johnny.

I've been doing a series of warm-up sketches and posting them to my Flickr account. This recent one fits the Goblins Ghouls and Ghosts theme perfectly.

17. After Halloween... Before Halloween

Hey, guys!

Since we're talking Halloween (Goblins, Ghouls, & Ghosts), here is the cover from my latest book "After Halloween":

It's about what the monsters of Halloween do to make a living, after Halloween is over. And yeah, it's an Alphabet book too.

It should be shipping from the printer any day now. I'm excited, as it's our third book finished.

<>

After Halloween, too tired to lurk –
monsters needed gold; the beasts needed work.

Although it seemed odd, they had bills to pay –
they gave up the night and stayed up all day.

<>

You can see more illustrations on my online store, Magic Skull.

Thanks for checking it out.

20. Paulo Monstro e seu Conjunto!

This one's pretty old - in fact it's the first image of my own that I coloured in Photoshop. I dug it up since I though it might fit this week's ghoulish Halloween theme. Happy Haunting everyone!

What a fun time of year. Even mummies have fears. I guess they are low on the ghoul chain.

25. SFG: Goblins, Ghouls and Ghosts

Heres a piece of History for me, I actually did these 2 years ago to this day. I was working at a university in printing and they needed Halloween art to sell on their pads of paper for the faculty, so I was tasked to draw these up. I also drew a Haunted House but I can't find it anymore. Turns out the pads were being stolen across the campus and I got yelled at by my boss for putting "too much effort" into the project. My reaction to that was simple... I quit and applied for an illustrators position at a local clothing company, and I've been in clothing since. For me these are interesting because I colored them without using the Lasso or pen tool, just free hand. It sucked. I still had a bit to learn about the path tool, and I feel I've come so far in just two years. On a second note, I'm currently working on monster themed stuff now for a comic company, my first comic gig and the results are much different than this, yet still "fun". But I don't get to post that stuff for awhile yet... Read the rest of this post
