1. Sidekick 2 in 1 Diaper Bag & Baby Carrier Review and Giveaway

Before we had Baby Co my husband always said he hoped our next child was fat and lazy. Co just had his 4 month appointment and was 16lbs 3 0z. He is officially in 6-9 month clothes, so I would say my husband got his wish. He's not really fat, just big and lazy. He doesn't mind laying down if you are talking to him, but would prefer to be held all the time.

Carrying my big boy and all of his stuff these past few months has been good exercise. Baby's need a lot of stuff and it's all heavy! But as much as I would love to carry him whenever and wherever I go, I also have a 2 year old and a 5 year old to lug around. I needed an extra pair of hands, and quick.

Then the Sidekick Bliss came into my life.

At first it looks like an attractive but ordinary diaper bag, but it is so much more than that! It's a diaper bag and baby carrier in 1.   I enlisted the help of my husband and 2 year old to show you how it's done.

First you secure the diaper bag around your waist - kind of like a fanny pack.  Then you unzip the top and roll out the sling.

You can then put your little one in the sling and slide the strap over your shoulder.

The top of the diaper bag provides a perfect seat for your little one, and the diaper bag section is still accessible.  All of the baby gear is easier to carry, and it frees up one or two hands!

It works better for Baby Co who isn't quite so big and heavy, but we have actually used it for our almost 3 year old Bid when she was being especially naughty in the store.  She thinks its fun.

If you took away the baby carrier aspect of the Sidekick I would still love it as a diaper bag.  I love the look and the style.  I love the magnetic clasp as it keeps things tightly closed.  And it holds way more stuff than any of the diaper bags I had with previous children.  I love it!

To Buy - The Sidekick Bliss from GoGoBabyz is a 2 in 1  Diaper Bag / Baby Carrier.  It retails for $120 but is currently on sale for $110.  It comes in gray, yellow, and pink, and works for a baby up to 35 lbs.  That's a lot of years of use!  I would highly recommend this product!

3. Shari's Berries Review

I am so done being pregnant with this baby! The countdown is almost into single digit days, and I can't wait! As excited as I am to have the baby, I'm not excited to be in the hospital after. Just the thought of sitting there doing nothing all day, makes me anxious!

In the hospital I like to have visitors, and I like it even more when they bring me presents! Flowers, balloons, cards, and baby items are nice, but I have recently discovered the perfect gift for a new mom - Shari's Berries!

A month or so ago we received a Full Dozen Baby Boy Berries from Shari's Berries, and I really fell in love!

It was the end of July and extremely hot out, so when I opened the package I was expecting a chocolate mess.  But the Chocolate hadn't melted at all, and was oh so tempting.  So I took a picture and then bit into a milk chocolate covered strawberry.

The strawberries were ripe, succulent, and delicious, and the milk chocolate melted in my mouth.

And since I was "testing" them, I immediately had to follow up the milk chocolate covered strawberry with a white chocolate one, and then a dark chocolate one.

I am not usually a fan of white chocolate as it is a bit sweet for me, but with the berries it was absolutely delicious.  I didn't even mind the coconut!  The dark chocolate berries were my absolute favorite though.  They really were some of the best things that I have ever tasted.

To Buy - After we ate the whole box, my husband and I decided that whenever we took a gift to a new mom or dad in the hospital Shari's Berries would be our gift of choice.  The Shari's Berries Boys Berries can be purchased online for just $34.99, and are the perfect treat for a new mom!

Shari's Berries also has a great selection of other treats, berries and flowers combos, and gift baskets that would be perfect for multiple ocassions.  Next time I really want to try this one that comes with 3 different types of cheesecake!

For 20% off your order you can also become a fan on Shari's Berries on facebook!

Disclosure - I received a product tfor review purposes from the above company or their pr agency.  Opinions expressed in this post are my own and I was not influenced in any way.  I really did like the berries that much!

4. Hayneedle Chicco Lullaby LX Play Yard Review and Giveaway

A few months before we had Kik my husband and I went baby shopping for the first time. It was completely overwhelming! There was aisle after aisle of Baby Gear, and I had no idea what we really needed and what would just be a bonus.

We bought the standard baby items, the crib, the rocker, the travel system, etc. and then some extras. If I'm completely honest we didn't always make the best choices. A few times we went with design over function, and have been regretting it for years.

Something that I always wanted, but never bought was a Play Yard. It seemed like it would be nice when we were traveling, but that it would just sit there the rest of the time. So we didn't buy one.

But then I partnered up with Hayneedle for a review and giveaway of the Chicco Lullaby LX Play Yard – Adventure and realized what a huge mistake I had made by not buying one sooner.

The Chicco Lullaby Play Yard came packaged into a convenient carrying case.

I was worried that it would be hard to set up. But all we had to do was pop and lock the bottom and sides of the play yard, and then place the included mattress at the bottom.

And we had a travel crib/contained play area!

My kids were all climbers, and could get out of the crib before they were 2, so I decided to put my 5 year old inside and have my 2 year old outside to see how easy it was to get in to and out of.

I'm happy to report that both of them were stuck!

Next I had my husband set up the bassinet and changing table area.  This is where I really fell in love with the play yard!

Earlier I mentioned that we based some of our previous purchases on aesthetics only, and our Crib was definitely one of those things.  It's really cute, but when we were shopping I failed to take into consideration that I am not tall and can't reach to lay a

5. My Child Is Sick by Barton D. Schmitt, MD, FAAP

My child Is Sick!:  Expert Advice for Managing Common Illnesses and Injuries is an encyclopedia of information pertaining to childhood common ailments.

This book is dedicated to the health of all children and is published by the American Academy of Pediatrics Association.  This book will help you realize when to call your doctor and when it's safe to treat your children at home.

You, as a parent, want to ensure that you are doing the best for your children, however, it can get very expensive to take your child to the doctor's for every ailment.  This book is geared to help you decide when you should visit your doctor and help ease your worries both financially and emotionally.

This book is based on the guidelines developed by Dr. Barton D. Schmitt and is used by over 10,000 pediatricians and nurses and over 400 nurse advice call centers in the United States and Canada.  These guidelines have been tested for 15 years on more than 150 million phone calls.

Inside of these pages you will find useful information pertaining to many illnesses and injuries.  There are decision charts which are used to help determine when to call a doctor or to treat at home and it will describe everything you need to keep your concerns at a minimum by walking you through each stage of symptoms.

There is in-depth advice for treating symptoms at home, home remedies for treatments, charts for medicine distribution, dos and don'ts on what you can and cannot do, prevention recommendations and so much more!

There are chapters on head injuries; eye, ear, nose, throat ailments as well as chapters on fever, bites or stings, abdomen injuries, and so much more.  Each has a definition, cause, home care advice and when to call you doctor laid out in an easy-to-read approach that will not leave you guessing on your interaction with your child.

Dr. Schmitt is a board-certified pediatrician and a professor of pediatrics at the University of Colorado School of Medicine.  He is an author and created the first self-triage, self-care iPhone app for parents, KidsDoc.  He is the recipient of the American Academy of Pediatrics' C. Anderson Aldrich Award for contributions in child development and the Education Award for contributions in pediatric condition.

This is an EXCELLENT reference guide that I would recommend that all parents keep a copy around.  I have used this book several times in the past few weeks and have been thankful to have had it.  I'm not a panic-mongering parent who rushes my child to the doctor's/hospital and usually do everything by instinct or common sense.  It has been great to realize that I often do the correct things in certain situations.

My youngest son is always coughing and croupy.  This book reinforced my own medical know-how AND taught me a few things, like, I didn't know it was beneficial to have your child drink warm water or apple juice to help open up their airways!!  As well, I forget that honey is better for your child than store bought medicines and now keep a jar in the house JUST for his croup.

I found many useful tips to keep my sanity when it comes to my kids.  I have four of them still at home and a 6 year old granddaughter, so for me, this has become my new bible!  I keep this close at hand and will use it over and over again!!

I could see this as a great benefit to keep in schools and day cares!!  Truthfully, this book has it all and it will reassure you that your doing everything correctly!!

6. The Very Fairy Princess Takes The Stage by Julie Andrews & Emma Walton Hamilton

The Very Fairy Princess Takes The Stage is a children's picture book.

Geraldine believes she is a princess and not just a regular princess, but a fairy princess.  On the day it's announced that her ballet class will be acting out the play, "The Crystal Princess", Gerry is positive she will be cast as the lead, after all, she has everything a good fairy princess would need!

However, things don't turn out the way that Gerry wants and she is cast as the Jester.  Gerry is really disappointed but decides to make the most out of it, even though she believes she looks really silly in her Jester costume.

On the big day, Gerry is really nervous when she stands upon the stage.  However, her fears are unwarranted, for not only does she sparkle and shine but she saves the day when a piece of the Ice Crystal Princesses costume goes missing!

Award winning Actress, Julie Andrews, yes THAT Julie Andrews and her daughter, Emma Walton Hamilton, have collaborated to put together a really great book for young readers.  Julie has been writing books for over thirty years and the mother-daughter team have been sharing their writing talents together for several as well.

I thought this was a very well-written and whimisical book.  Geraldine is a very likeable little girl.  I liked how she was able to go with the flow and not think of revengeful things to do because she didn't get her way.  I liked the positive attitude building that the book incorporates and how to make the most out of situations that aren't agreeable.

The illustrations by Christine Davenier are done in a charming and engaging coloured pencil sketches that are pleasing to the readers eyes.  The soft strokes of the pencils give you a feeling of love and tenderness as you read about Gerry and her dilemma.

I would recommend this to any parent who enjoys reading wholesome stories with positive outcomes to their children.  The children will fall in love with Gerry and her comical attitude.  This would also make a good storytime book to read in daycares or during library programs!

SYNOPSIS:
Everyone's favorite fairy princess is back and just in time for her ballet recital in this new picture book addition to the Julie Andrews Collection. At first, when Gerry is cast as the Court Jester and not the Crystal Princess, she is dismayed -- nothing is pink and no one can see her crown under her silly jester hat! But just as the recital looks like it's headed for disaster, our ever-energetic very fairy princess swoops in to save the day!

** Disclosure: I did not accept any compensation from the sponsors other than review copies, my views are my own, reviewed by me..as I see it~!! **

7. My Baby Compass Review and Giveaway

Kathryn Thorson Gruhn has 35 years of child development experience. She is certified by the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA), holding both Bachelors and Masters degrees in Speech and Language Pathology. She gained her clinical expertise by working with children as well as adults with a full spectrum of communication disorders.

One of Kathryn’s most rewarding experiences was working for United Cerebral Palsy in an inclusive child development center which was composed equally of children with normal development and those with delayed development. She provided therapy in the classroom and facilitated educational, nurturing relationships between parents and their children, which inspired her ideas for My Baby Compass.

Her down-to-earth, approachable style makes this program accessible for all parents and caregivers.

My Baby Compass:  Birth to Two Years
My Baby Compass

The My Baby Compass checklists are specifically formulated to enable you to quickly and easily detect any delays as your child grows.

The checklists are designed to identify milestones, which are skills, behaviors and physical developments that commonly occur in certain age ranges.

The book  is full of simple, practical information and activities that will complement your own intuition.

The milestones on the checklists are based on statistics, and while 90% of children will fall into this range, your child may be only a few days away from meeting a particular milestone.

8. The Real State of America Atlas by Cynthia Enloe and Joni Seager

The Real State of America: Mapping the Myths and Truths of The United States is an atlas of statistical data pertaining to the USA and how they rate with the rest against the world.

This 128-page book is packed solid with references, maps, graphics, illustrations, essays and statistics. It explores the myths and the realities of Americans living in the 21st century.

Topics include the wage gap, the economy, export/imports, marriage/divorce, foreclosures/homelessness, the environment, nuclear arms, climate change and so much more. Each shows the reader, in detail, the percentage of Americans who are affected and how they rate globally.

The  Real State of America breaks this information down into rates for men, woman, by nationality, age et cetera and shows how each group combines to make up the statistics. Most of the facts and figures are up-to-date, with many of the reports from 2008-2010.

Cynthia Enloe is a Research Professor from Clark University and in 2010 she was awarded the Howard Zinn Lifetime Achievement Award in Peace studies. Joni Seager is a Professor and Chair of Global Studies at Bentley University, has several books accredited to her as well as, working with the UN and UNESCO in further world benefiting projects.

These two women have collected all the data that you will find within these pages and have presented it by an easy-to-follow method. Their aim is to bring further awareness to the decline of the "American Dream" and discredit the myth involving the "Land of Opportunity".

What does it really mean to live in the United States of America? This book will explain the transaction between cultural, material and ideological relationships in such things as religion; military; healthcare and its politics; big business and the economic flows of wealth and debt both globally and locally.

Mapping, it is believed, is a tool that can display and analyze patterns of similarity and difference to enable political debate. With over 40 topics addressing information-rich subjects, The State of America will ensure conversation and discussions.

After reading this book, I found myself sharing the conclusions with others, marking this as a definite conversation-starter. It shares a wealth of data and I found it interesting how it was cross-referenced with the globe. I was surprised to see how Canada stacked against the USA and found it highly informative.

The information shared is some of the most up-to-date that I have found and it is because of this that I would highly recommend it. The comparisons dispensed throughout the pages give the reader a new view of the world  and how the United States interacts with it.

SYNOPSIS:
Packed with fascinating facts and illustrated throughout with clear, easy-to-read, four-color graphics, The Real State of America Atlas draws back the curtain on our complex nation to reveal the myriad realities of the American experience-from our changing demographics to patterns of home ownership to the kinds of food we eat. Cowritten by two esteemed scholars, this comprehensive and enlightening work upends many long-held myths and shows us who we are today. It is the perfect read for anyone who wants to better understand our ever- changing nation.

9. Baby Bedding Zone Curtains Review

Our house faces due east.  This is great for evening shade in the summer, but not for keeping the sun out in the mornings.  Both of the kids rooms are at the front of the house which means that the girls wake up much earlier than I would like.  I do not want a repeat of this when the baby boy is born, which means new curtains are a must.

I love the look of white curtains in nurseries, but have always been skeptical of their ability to block out the sun. I decided to take a risk anyway and get some of the Sterling Anabella Palm Beach Curtains from BabyBeddingZone.com.

The curtains are made from 100% Egyptian Cotton and are lined to help keep the light out. I was surprised at how well it worked!

Since we painted the boys room a grayish/blue the trim on the curtains matched perfectly, and very little light came in.

To Buy - The Palm Beach curtains include 2 white pique drapery panels with scalloped edge trim in blue, pink, or green. They're 96" long, have a rod pocket top, and are lined with white cotton. They also include double sided tie backs in white pique with accent color on the reverse. But my favorite thing about these curtains, is that even though the list price is $650, Baby Bedding Zone has them priced for just $65!

Besides curtains, Baby Bedding Zone also has a great selection of luxury crib bedding - including white crib bedding that would match my curtains perfectly! But my absolute favorite thing from the website is the Jungle Time Safari Print from the line of boy crib bedding sets.

Love it!  And just a little note, they ship worldwide!

10. Kokopax City Carrier Giveaway

For the first few days - okay weeks - after I had Bid I really enjoyed just sitting there and letting my husband take care of things around the house. But eventually I had to get up and start doing my share.

With a new baby this can be really hard. I never had any type of carrier or sling and my girls did not like to be set down. As a result, I got really good at doing everything one handed. It wasn't convenient, but it worked.

If I had to do it all over again I would have invested in a great baby carrier like the ones created by Kokopax.

Kokopax was designed by a mom who was having trouble keeping up with her 3 children (a two year old, a one year old, and a newborn). Using vintage carriers as inspiration, she molded the design and fabrics to meet the needs of a modern day family. The Classic Carrier was such a hit, that the line quickly expanded and new products were born - including The Eco Carrier, the City Carrier, diaper totes, and baby sun hats.

The City Carrier is a lightweight and affordable option, designed to keep baby (and parents) comfortable at home and on the go.

It features

  • made with durable, easy-to-clean fabric
  • for use from 6 months to 2 years (or up to 35 pounds)
  • certified by the JPMA to the ASTM F2549-09 Frame Child Carrier standard

12. Born Free Eco Bottles Review and Giveaway

Deciding how and what to feed your baby is an extremely personal and important decision that all mothers have to make before the birth of their children. Mothers have to decide if they are going to use bottles or breastfeed. And if they are going to use bottles are they going to pump or use formula.

When we first had Kik she had really bad jaundice and had to be kept under the lights at the hospital almost the whole time that we were there. They brought her to me for feedings a couple of times, but mostly they had to feed her formula in the nursery. In the long run this made things a bit easier for me as she liked milk and formula, bottles and nursing.

She was really little and couldn't eat very much at a time, but wanted to eat all of the time. I was getting no sleep so my husband and I decided that whether I was able to pump or we had to use formula, he would get up with Kik for one of the nightly feedings.

We quickly came to realize the value of a good bottle. Some bottles released the milk too quickly and she would choke and milk would get everywhere. Other bottles didn't release the milk at all and she would get upset.

BornFree has attempted to solve the problem with their line of bottle feeding products.

Soft Silicone Nipples
Available in 5 flow rates.

Inner Valve and Air Vent

Helps minimize colic symptoms by reducing vacuum build up.
Transparent BPA-Free Plastic
Top Rack Dishwasher Safe
Easy to Hold

Their ActiveFlow System (comprised of the nipples and air vent) allows a baby to control their own speed of feeding, which makes for happier babies.

The inner valve and air vent also help reduce the vacuum effect and regulate the amount of air a baby sucks in while feeding.  This helps with Colic and upset tummies.

BornFree recently released a new Eco Friendly line of bottles.  Not only do they share the same features as the other products, but they are completely recyclable as well.  After use, the bottles can be returned to BornFree where they will be recycled into toys and furniture.

The BornFree Eco Bottles come in 2 sizes (5 oz and 9 0z), and 2 styles (Eco Classic and Eco Deco).

Both styles are really easy to hold, and I love the little pattern on the Eco Deco bottle.

To Buy - Another feature I love about  BornFree  is that the bottle and cup parts are completely interchangeable.  Besides being convenient, this is a great cost saver!

Born Free bottles are available Nationwide at Babies R Us, Target, Whole Foods, CVS Pharmacy, Diapers.com, and Buy Buy Baby.  For more info you can find them on faceb

13. Halo Sleepsack Swaddle Review and Giveaway

Neither of my girls have ever really like to sleep. When they were newborns, they took naps but were extremely light sleepers. Everything from being wrapped incorrectly to the phone ringing in the other room would wake them up. I think that they got used to running on a limited amount of sleep, because now that they are older nap time is non existent.

One of the main problems with sleep time when my girls were first born was the blankets we swaddled them in. Even though we tried to use thin blankets, they were still bulky and the girls couldn't move.

Then when they got older they could break out of their blanket and woke up because they got cold.

We're hoping that things will be different with our new baby boy since we discovered the Halo SleepSack Swaddle from Halo Innovations.

The Halo SleepSack Swaddle is basically a wearable blanket, that keeps baby wrapped up and warm without limiting their mobility. As we don't have our baby boy yet, I couldn't really test the difference in bulkiness on him. So I borrowed my daughter's doll.

Obviously the doll is quite a bit thinner than a regular baby would be, but the SleepSack Swaddle didn't add any bulk. Also the bottom is sewn together like a sleeping bag, so a baby couldn't kick their legs free.

I really like that the SleepSack Swaddle can be worn two ways - arms in or arms out.

This would have been great for both my girls, as their sleeping preferences changed as they grew older.

To Buy - The Halo SleepSack Swaddle comes in in a variety of different fabrics and patterns, which retail from $26.95 and up. It can be purchased online at halosleep.com  It is also the only swaddling product approved by the international hip dysplacia institute (for more info see here).

On another note - Halo Innovations also just released a new line of sleepwear for children size

14. Photographing Children And Babies: How To Take Great Pictures by Michal Heron

Photographing Children and Babies:  How To Take Great Pictures is a complete guide for taking beautiful pictures of the young people in your life.

Photographing your children has never been easier!  Follow the straightforward, practical tips and techniques found within these pages and you will learn how to improve your photographs dramatically without using any expensive or high quality equipment.

Inside you will find over 200 pages of photographs which will help you to understand the concepts being explained to help you express your children's personalities and antics.  Whether you are using a digital camera or prefer film, you will learn how to take a variety of photos from different angles, including portraits, full-figure shots, action, group and close-ups.

You will be shown how to use artificial and natural lighting, recognize and avoid distracting backgrounds as well as plan indoor versus outdoor settings.  There are also easy-to-follow guides on how to master technical issues such as lens type, depth of field, exposure, film speed, shutter speed, and how to take striking black and white photos.

Michal Heron has been a successful, freelance photographer for over thirty years and has worked with hundreds of babies, children and their parents.  Currently she works on assignments for a variety of publishing and corporate clients as well as with stock photo agencies.  She is a frequent lecturer at seminars and workshops throughout the United States.  She is the co-author of "Pricing Photography:  The Complete Guide to Assignment and Stock Prices" and the author of "How to Shoot Stock Photos That Sell" both from Allworth Press.  She lives in New York City.

I thought this was a great guide to helping an amateur take some wonderful photos.  The techniques explained are simple and easy to follow and the pictures that are supplied to give examples really help out with your understanding of the subject matter.  The photos really do the guide justice.

I liked the friendly nature in which the children are shared with the reader, giving us a more personable feel to the techniques.  I found everything understandable and think any novice to intermediate photographer would find many things to use.  I thought the use of reflectors to aim the light on the subject perfectly to be quite interesting, it was the easiest explanation that I have found on that particular application.  I didn't realize how much light can make or break a photo until you see the examples given.

I would recommend this to anyone serious about taking a better photo, trying to capture the right character in your child.  Removing even the simplest of obstacles can make your picture great.  It is well worth the read, I am sure everyone would find something out of it to help them better their current picture taking abilities!

SYNOPSIS:

15. Zutano Review and $75 Giveaway

My husband hates going shopping with me. When it comes time to buy the kids new clothes I like to look around at everything, and he doesn't. When we first had Kik we had almost nothing so I got to indulge my shopping habit quite often. With Bid we already had most things so all I could do was look.

Since our third child is a boy we are back to square one and have nothing again! I now get to look at boys clothing as much as I want and my husband can't complain - much.

One of my newest finds is Zutano!

Zutano has been in business about 20 years and is based in Vermont.

What really sets them apart for me is their huge selection of mix and match styles and patterns. Here are 2 of my favorites (The Owl and the Sputnick Collections)

Zutano pulls the different colors and patterns from each collection and incorporates them into all of their clothing styles. There are pants, hats, onesies, dresses, shirts, etc that all match within a specific collection.

Zutano also carries a line of Organic Clothing that is just as adorable as their regular styles. All of the organic pieces are made from 100% Certified Organic Cotton and are available in Zutano’s Itzy Bitzy newborn designs and Baby collection up to 24 months.

We received an organic Forest Fun hat, wrap shirt, and boys leggings for review purposes, and I was really impressed.

Besides loving the pattern and colors, the wrap shirt would make changing a diaper a lot easier than a traditional onesie. And I was surprised at how soft the organic cotton was. I can't wait till my boy gets to wear them!

To Buy - I love the huge variety of styles and that I can mix and match my favorites. My husband likes that the matching clothes and styles are all grouped together which makes shopping faster and easier.

To Win - Zutano's is giving a $75 gift card to one of you!

16. Crane Humidifiers Review and Giveaway

Another Bedtime saver has been the Crane Humidifier.

Because of seasonal allergies, my girls have had a really hard time breathing lately - especially at night. Even though we would lay Bid down in her own bed every night she would be in our room around 1 every morning. She was grumpy and irritable and would just cry and say "my nose." Her problem was more a complete clog in the sinus area so there was really nothing we could do about it.

When our Crane Cool Mist Frog Humidifier came in the mail, we decided to put it in the girls room to see if it would help anything.

We noticed a change right away! The next morning Bid's nose started to run and both of our girls started sleeping better. Bid hasn't been complaining about her nose at all lately. She still comes in our room some mornings around 5, but its because she wakes up and not because she can't breathe.

Our Crane Humidifier was easy to set up and even easier to use. The gauge on the front lets us control how much mist is going into the room. It does not require a filter and shuts off automatically when the tank is empty.

To Buy - Crane Humidifier retail from $39.99 and up and are a great product to have in any kids room. When little kids are sick, turning on a humidifier is one of the only ways to help them breathe or get rid of a dry cough.

Our humidifier emits up to 2.1 gallons of moisture a day, and is safe for children because there is no heating element. The humidifiers are also quiet and don't keep my girls up at night.

And I love the animal styles. Our frog humidifier blends right in as part of the rooms decor.

To Win - Crane Humidifiers is giving away your choice of humidifier to one of you (excluding elephant, leopard, Hello Kitty and owl)

17. Kinderglo Nightlight Review and Giveaway

We've never been very good at making our girls go to bed by themselves. Bid has "breath holding spells" and if she cries for too long she can literally stop breathing.

Kik goes through stages and sometimes she doesn't mind going to bed, but other times she is terrified. She has been better the last couple of months because she is trying to earn the privilege of sleeping in the top bunk. But she still has her days.

The last little while has been a big improvement because we have been letting her sleep with her brother's Kinderglo Nightlight.

Because we are going with the Animal Safari Theme in his room, we went with the Elephant. So far my girls love it!

All of the Kinderglo Nightlights can be color changing to make things be more fun, or they can be set to stay on one color.

If that's not cool enough, Kinderglo Nightlights are never hot to the touch, and are made from a durable non-toxic material so Kik has actually been able to sleep holding the light.

The night light also comes with a time setting - 30 minutes or all night. We have it set on 30 minutes because Kik only needs it when she is falling asleep, but we could also leave it on the whole night if she needed a bit of extra comfort.

To Buy - One of my favorite things about the Kinderglo Nightlight is that it comes with a rechargeable base so there are no batteries or extras that I have to keep buying. For now Kik can sleep with it at night and then we can put it on its stand to charge throughout the day.

Kinderglo Nightlights retail for just $24.95, but as a special offer for my readers, Kinderglo is giving you all a coupon for $5 off each night light ordered from their webstore. Just use code ZX0I4GG3XN13

To Win - Besides the coupon code Kinderglo is giving away your choice of nightlight to one of you!

1st Mandatory Entry - Go to Kinderglo and then come back and tell me which you want if you win!

18. Aveeno Baby Review

Before I had kids I never realized how much work it takes to maintain their skin. My girls skin is soft and smooth to the touch, but it is also extremely sensitive. It takes a whole slew of products just to keep them comfortable.

Our cupboards are filled with special shampoo and body wash for bath time, regular and calming lotions for after, diaper rash creams, baby oils, powders, and sunscreens.

Despite our extensive skin care routines, when my girls were little they still had eczema.  Eczema is a type of skin disorder that usually manifests itself in the form of a dry, rough, itchy rash.  My girls would get a bumpy rash on the inside of their elbows or knees, and nothing we put on seemed to help.  Lotion would cure the dry itchy aspect, but their skin was so sensitive that it would also turn the area red and start burning.

One of the reasons we have so many different types of products in our cupboard, is that we were always on the hunt for something new that didn't cause the burning.  One of the few products that we have found that works is the Eczema Therapy Products from Aveeno Baby.

The Cleansing Therapy is a body wash that is designed to maintain the body's natural barrier while softening the skin.   The moisturizing cream helps smooth the dry eczema and prevent its recurrence.

To Buy - The Aveeno Baby products are made with colloidal oatmeal and rich emollients which are proven to naturally to soothe a baby's skin.  My daughters still get eczema on their hands occasionally, and I am so excited to have found a product that doesn't make their hands burn!  It's definitely worth trying out.

19. Mothers Touch Thermometer Review and Giveaway

One of the worst things as a parent is seeing your children sick. It's something that you can never really prepare for, and something that you can't completely prevent. No matter how careful you are, kids get sick!

When my girls are sick, they absolutely hate how often I check their temperature. They tolerate the exergen scanner temporal thermometer, but refuse to allow me to stick a normal thermometer anywhere near their bodies.

When I first started looking for products to highlight during this event, I discovered a new product that makes taking a child's temperature even easier - Mother's Touch.

Mother's Touch is a new temporal thermometer that uses R.A.T.E. technology to measure a child's core body temperature, by placing the sensors directly on the forehead.  It's been clinically tested and you don't have to add a degree or two when it's finished!

I was excited about the product, but was hoping that I wouldn't have the need to test it for quite awhile.  Unfortunately Bid got sick, and I had to use it the next day.

Mothers Touch was really easy to use.  First press the button on the display to turn it on.  Then all you have to do is slip the thermometer on your finger like a ring, and place the sensor side directly against the forehead near the temple.

Then hold the thermometer in place 6-8 seconds until the thermometer beeps.  And you have an accurate reading.

Since Bid was sick, we decided to test our new Mothers Touch against our exergern scanner.  The readout was virtually the same, but Bid didn't squirm away from the Mother's Touch.  It was very convenient!

To Buy - Mother's Touch retails for $29.00 and can be purchased online or at Walgreen's.  I love the ease of use and the convenient size.  I also like that because it only touches the forehead, I can use it on as many kids as I need without sterilizing it in between uses.

To Win - Mother's Touch is giving away a thermometer to one of you!

1st Mandatory Entry - Go to Mother's Touch and then come back and tell me another feature of the thermometer that I didn't already mention here!
