The writing life is filled with highs and lows - and sometimes the lows are long and hard. Many congratulations on the shortlisting - it's so exciting and Toppled is just wonderful. I hope the glow lasts a good while longer.<br /><br />'I write because I can’t not write' - that's just how I feel. Sometimes the only time left for it is the train to and from work, but even then its often the part of the day I enjoy the most.<br /><br />It is lovely to have found your blog!

Yeah congrats on the listing. Your post has reinvigorated me with my own writing – it has reminded me of how important telling the stories in my head is to me.<br /><br />One of the plus sides I think to the reality of authors not making much money, is that it really fosters a great non-competitive community – everyone (authors, illustrators, teachers, teacher-librarians ...) really bands
