3. Ravens

Just playing around with a Winsor & Newton Ivory Black Water Colour Marker and my trusty water brush. Fun, but seems to fade quite a bit after a few minutes. Scan or take a photo quick, kids.

And just for fun...

5. 500th Post!

Wow! This is my 500th post which means I've had this blog for 500 days... Okay, I'm not that consistent, but still, it's been a few five years of relatively regular posting. Not too shabby.

To celebrate, here's a sketch of a sort of porcupine/hamster critter. Step 1: slosh some watercolor on your paper in a random manner. Step 2: forget about it for a few days. Step 3: take a brush and ink and draw whatever comes to mind.

11. Paint First, Ask Questions Later

A little experiment to loosen up. I plopped down a few splashes of paint without thinking about it and then later went back with a brush pen and quickly doodled the first thing that came to mind.

19. A 4th of July Barbeque Quiz

Rebecca OUP-US

Homer Simpson had a point, “you don’t make friends with salad,” especially on the 4th of July. A good party requires a good barbeque and Andrew Smith, editor of the Oxford Companion to American Food and Drink, is here to test your knowledge. Think you are the king of all grill masters? See how many of the following questions you can get right. The answers are at the end.
