1. FAT CAT named Michigan Library Association Honor Book!

THANK YOU, MICHIGAN LIBRARIANS!!! I just found out that FAT CAT was named one of the Honor Books for this year’s Michigan Library Association’s Thumbs Up Award for Best Young Adult Fiction. 2. YALSA Debut Finalists Annouced

In the SLJ Teen newsletter, I found out that the The William C. Morris YA Debut Award finalists have been announced.

According the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) website:

“The William C. Morris YA Debut Award, first awarded in 2009, honors a debut book published by a first-time author writing for teens and celebrating impressive new voices in young adult literature.”

Ash by Malinda Lo, published by Little, Brown Books for Young Readers

Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl, published by Little, Brown Books for Young Readers

The Everafter by Amy Huntley, published by Balzer + Bray, an imprint of HarperCollins Publishers
