How to use this Page
You are viewing the most recent posts tagged with the words: tag in the JacketFlap blog reader. What is a tag? Think of a tag as a keyword or category label. Tags can both help you find posts on JacketFlap.com as well as provide an easy way for you to "remember" and classify posts for later recall. Try adding a tag yourself by clicking "Add a tag" below a post's header. Scroll down through the list of Recent Posts in the left column and click on a post title that sounds interesting. You can view all posts from a specific blog by clicking the Blog name in the right column, or you can click a 'More Posts from this Blog' link in any individual post.

“Refresh” is the word prompt for Illustration Friday this week. I drew a quick one. It’s a good time of year to watch birds doing a little sun bathing, yes? Playing/sitting/standing in/sitting next to/etc. water is always refreshing to me.

Illustration Friday got a face lift this week! (It looks great, Penelope!) Check it out–along with all the other creative entries. And don’t forget to enter an illustration yourself. It’s fun!
I was tagged by Jan for five random things, so here goes!
1. I'm really short. Barely 5 foot 2, to be exact. My younger brother (16) is almost 6 foot 5. Who looks like the baby sister? Yeah, me. Everywhere we go. Argh.
2. I love pens. Seriously. I have zillions of them, some I use and some I save. My favorite colors to write with are dark green, dark purple and pink.
3. I'm addicted to tea. Green, white, herbal and red are my favs. Not a huge drinker of black tea, but I love iced black tea in the summer. I also keep a log off all of the teas I've tried and rate them based on whether I liked the taste, brand, etc.
4. I want a squirrel. Yep, in my house. Think Veruca Salt in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory when she says, "Daddy, buy me a squirrel." :)
5. I don't like monkeys. At all. Never have for some reason. Sorry Diana and Jen!
If you want to play, consider yourself tagged!
I'm finally getting to my tags.
In no particular order:
Brenda Schultz--Shazam.
Angie Wheat--Stakeholders Speak Up.
Ruth Tighe-On My Mind.
Hope each of you will share 20 of your earliest memories of life in Saipan / CNMI. Enjoy the project. And then tag a few more people.
No, not toe-tagged. Though that would be interesting, because that would mean I was writing from the grave. Nope, I've been tagged by Rachel to provide five random things about myself. Here we go!
1. In high school, I was an assistant manager at a fast food and as such, I got free food. I drank one milkshake of each of their four flavors every single day I worked. I gained fifteen pounds that summer.
2. I sat on David Cassidy's lap in the 1990s. I hung the photo on my bulletin board at work and told everyone he was my boyfriend.
3. When I saw Brian Regan this September, I made my husband hang outside the stage door with me until Brian came out. Brian gave me a hug, signed my program, and let me take a picture with him. It's all here.
4. In junior high, I signed up for the play just to get out of classes. I was the turkey.
5. I played drums starting in fourth grade. My career ended in eighth grade when I was constantly relegated to the bass drum or the cymbals, while the boys got to play the snares. I'd lost interest by that time, anyway--my drumroll was rather staccato, and those 10 lb cymbals were awfully hard to hold ("Hold them UP, Danette!) at football games.
In other news, my little mommy is leaving earlier than expected--she and new hubby have found houses on Florida's west coast they like. So, she leaves in the morning, but if all goes well, it'll then just be a two hour drive instead of that 24 hour drive to Michigan!
Hmm, almost forgot . . . who to tag, who to tag? So many victims friends to choose from. TAG! You're it: Courtney, Church Lady, Ello, Charles Gramlich, and Stephen Parrish. You'll still be my friends, right?
Mike r Baker, Marci Senders, and TokyoBunnie (a super talented bunch, yikes!) had tagged me with the 5 (and 7!) things about me meme. They are are alot of fun and have done similar tags here and here. Mike also tagged me with a 20 all time favorite movies meme a while back. I don't know if I can list 20, but how about some movie/show related things?
1. I usually like watching foreign/Asian films- just saw Lust, Caution. Oh la la!
2. I will also watch any film with Takeshi Kaneshiro in it. For very OBVIOUS reasons. :-) (If you are curious, he was in House of Flying Daggers.)
3. I follow two anime shows on a weekly basis, Naruto and Bleach. Always the subbed version, never the dubbed. And here is a plush character from Bleach that I have by my bed side:

4. More anime I recommend: Elfen Lied and Death Note. I even saw the live-action version of Death Note at the Japan Society this summer. (Please note, these series are not for kids. There is excellent story-telling but with nudity and violence.)
5. I'm a Hayao Miyazaki fan-My Neighbor Totoro and Spirited Away are my favorite of his. I have to admit I wasn't so crazy about Howl's Moving Castle though.
Now that you know a little bit about my tastes, any movie recommendations are welcomed!

I have been tagged by my dear friend (and official biographer) Sally at Scribblings. I’ve never been tagged before, but since I learned to come down from the shelf and sing, I’ve learnt that trying something new is usually a good thing. So, I’ll join in.
Here’s how it works:
Link to the person that tagged you, and post the rules on your blog. Share 7 random and/or weird facts about yourself. Tag 7 random people at the end of your post, and include links to their blogs. Let each person know that they’ve been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.
So here we go - 7 random facts about me:
1. My fur is a little worn on my bottom. This is from spending too long sitting all alone on my shelf.
2. I love to sing, but have yet to fulfil my ambition of appearing on Australian Idol. I went to the auditions once, but people kept picking me up and cuddling me, and pretty soon I smelt like cheap perfume and iced coffee, and I had to go home to get clean.
3. I love learning and using new words. My favourite word at the moment is perspicacious. If someone is perspicacious they are acutely perceptive or discerning. My friend Primula is perspicacious. When I was alone on my shelf she saw that, deep down, what I needed was company and for someone to believe in me.
4. My favourite book (apart from my life story, Pemberthy Bear), is Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus, by Mo Willems.
5. I once tried sky diving – in my sleep. Okay, maybe it wasn’t sky-diving, but it felt like it. See, I was asleep up on my high, high shelf, and was having a bad dream. I must have been tossing and turning in my sleep because the next thing I felt like I was flying and then WHAM I woke up on the toy room mat. Luckily I wasn’t hurt – just dreadfully embarrassed.
6. I like to write poetry, but haven’t written a new poem since the 9th of September. Oops – better get to work on a new offering.
7. This one is a little sad. I’m supposed to tag seven other people to also share their seven random facts, but I don’t KNOW seven other bloggers. And the bloggers I do know have all been tagged by Sally! So perhaps if you’re reading this, and you have a blog, you could pretend to be my friend and share your seven things. Leave a comment here and I’ll come and read them.
I was tagged by Donna Farrell (check out her lovely illustrations!)
Here are the rules:
Each player lists 8 facts/habits about themselves. The rules of the game are posted at the beginning before those facts/habits are listed. At the end of the post, the player then tags 8 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog.
8 Things about me:
1. My favorite cocktail is a Tom Collins. I was also told by a bartender once that it was "an old lady drink."
2. I'm in love with a mathematician.
3. I thought snow came down as mini snowballs, just like in the cartoons. I was surprised to see it not to be so.
4. I've been in the same elevator with Dean Cain.
5. I shook hands with Method Man.
6. I like chickens, but I am not a vegetarian. (Shhh...don't tell the chickens!)
7. I listen to Japanese pop music and I don't understand a word of it.
8. I was bribed with art classes by my mother so I would practice the piano, which I was forced to do. *Side note: I am now an illustrator and I haven't touched the piano since :-)
I tag Kritty, Patrick, Laura, Eren and Maggie. And anyone else who would like to play. I 'd love to get to know more about you.
Illustration Friday: Camouflage
A fast little image just so I feel I have taken part. Things have been busy around here lately, which is good but a bit tiring too. Have a great weekend everyone.
She put on her prettiest dress and hoped that someone would ask her to dance...
Tag, collage, acrylic and pencil
Really!? From your author pictures, I would not have thought you were that short. :)
Me too, me too! I want a pet squirrel! Everyone always thinks I'm crazy when I say that. Glad *someone* else understands. ;)
All right, so I look taller in pics! Yay! :)
I'm soo glad to find someone else who wants a squirrel! :) They're just so adorable...
"I want a squirrel. Yep, in my house."
Oh wow! Someone in my old building adopted a baby squirrel. It was a special breed. It looked like a tiny chihuahua or a newborn kitten. The building manager said that she had paid a mint for it and that she was always taking it to the vet.
Neat, anon. I bet it's adorable! I wanted one after someone I knew got a wildlife license so she could rehabilitate squirrels in her home.
There's actually an organization in my city that allows people to foster squirrels WITHOUT a license. :)
We have a pet squirrel who has a nest on our deck. Our dog barks at him (them) ALL THE TIME!!!
Oooh, PJ, barking isn't fun! But lucky you for having a nest! :)
What kind of person doesn't like monkeys?!?!?! (teasing)
You can have my squirrel(s). I'm not sure if there's a guerrilla faction of them or just one ninja squirrel, but it stalks my backyard and eats all my birdfood.
Just tell me the address to ship to...
Oooh, Erica. A ninja squirrel. I'm coming to your house! :)
It's all about finesse, not height. Just ask my grandmother and my sister-in-law! And I'm so with you on the pens. All office supplies, actually. I could spend hours in an office supply store just drooling over the pens, paper, organizers, etc. And I don't even use an organizer! And as for teas, lately I've been drinking green/herbal blends. Not a huge fan of green tea, but I know it's good for me, and when blended with herbs it's divine.
Good to meet someone shorter than me... I'm 5'2 and a bit. You wait until you have a son who's 6'2" and still growing (size 14 feet).... that is truly the weirdest thing ever.
I'm five feet tall and my younger sister TOWERS over me!
