Looking Back
As always, I am grateful for comments. So far, I have received the most responses to my post on the death of the adverb. One of our correspondents notes that students in creative writing tend to put adverbs at the beginning of the sentence, as in “Happily, she met her boyfriend at the mall.” Sorrowfully, I have also noticed this mannerism, and not only in students’ stories. The adverb, nearly wiped out by morphology in American English, is doing “just fine” in syntax. For instance, the authors of scholarly publications love the word undoubtedly; they use it when arguments are weak and doubt exists. Obviously, certainly, and definitely serve the same purpose. Actually has become the bane of our life. (more…)
These are wonderfully creative, Lolo! I'm not sure I would have thought of incorporating a painting within the printed paper. I like this a lot!
Fabulous!!!!
you are so clever and creative - love it
The printed paper is so awesome!!! You always put the right touches on everything!!!
you are so talented. these are so simple and so beautiful. i know marianne will just love what you've done. you inspire me everyday. ♥
Funny you painted a redwing. We were just talking this weekend that it is about time they arrive here from their wintering grounds. Beautiful back page.
I can hear the cheep and caw. :)
I love these Lolo. My birdie favs are front and center. Luck Marianne to receive this from you. Brava.
It is stunning. Just gorgeous.
xoxo

You know those floral patterns are my faves...adding your birds puts this over the moon for me...:)
I stop in to look at these every day, Laurel. They're beautiful.
Hi dear!
Thought I had commented , but that was probably on the other blog....
I do I do I do love this!
I love everything about the back and front!
This kind of paper is so you. I love the birdies.
I will go to sleep now (early: 2042)
have to get up at 03.30 tomorrow!!!! That's evil.
It is slippery too on the road. I will be so glad when this trip is over.....
I hope some sunshine will pep me up a little though
♥♥♥

Up to your usual beautiful standards, I see! So clever the way you incorporate the design of the paper to the painting. Love it, Laurel!
