1. Free Writing Workshop: Create and Sell an Informational Product

I'm presenting another free workshop for Writers on the Move. We skipped an October workshop because of the Muse Online Writers Conference, but we're back now.

Here are the writing workshop details:

Title: Create and Sell an Informational Product
Presented by: Karen Cioffi
Date: November 18, 2011
Time: 7PM, EST (U.S. Time)
Workshop Format: Live Online Chat
Handout: Yes
Fee: Free

Description:

Surely, you’ve all hear by now about informational products. If not, it’s all about creating a product that provides needed or wanted information to others . . . information others will be willing to pay for.

And, it’s not difficult at all.

So, what might be an example of an informational product?

Simple, anything that, again, will provide people with information / knowledge they need or want. Information that will solve a person’s problem or will help them get where they want to be. It might be a report, an e-book, a workshop, you get the idea.

To help you get in the informational product game, Writers on the Move is hosting a writing workshop presented by Karen Cioffi that will give you the steps you need to get where you want to be: creating and selling informational products.

To register for “Create and Sell an Informational Product” email Karen Cioffi at: karencioffi [at] ymail.

The workshop is free, but all registrants will be added to the Writers on the Move and the presenter’s mailing list.

Details to the LIVE CHAT will be provided upon registration.

We'll be offering (at the discretion of the presenter) an After Workshop Package of this workshop for those who didn't register and would like to purchase it. It'll include the live chat transcript, the workshop handout, and possibly a podcast. Be sure to Get Yours when it's available!

2. Free eBook Chat Workshop

Most writers realize just how useful e-books can be. From giving away as free incentives to subscribe to your site, to selling them on sites such as Kindle, Smashwords, and Lulu, they increase visibility and can earn you an income. They are a great marketing tool and simple to create.

Thanks to Suzanne Lieurance, the Working Writer's Coach, I have the opportunity to offer a free chat workshop at: http://workingwriterscoach.com

Having created a number of e-books, I thought it would be helpful to offer a workshop like this to help other writers create an e-book to offer on their sites for an enticement to answer the call-to-action, or to publish and earn money.

Details for the Free eBook Chat Workshop:

Date: Friday, February 18, 2011
Topic: Tips for Creating Your Own Ebooks
Time: 7:00 – 7:15 Central Standard Time (5pm PST and 8pm EST)

Date: Monday, February 21, 2011
Topic: Basic Tips for Selling Your Own Ebooks
Time: 7:00 – 7:15 Central Standard Time

Date: Wednesday February 23, 2011
Topic: Selling Your Ebooks - Broadening Your Reach
Time: 7:00 – 7:15 Central Standard Time

So, just click on the Working Writer's Coach link. Once you get to the site, scroll ALL the way DOWN to the red copyright area. The very last words, at the very bottom of the page will say "Wordpress Log in."

Click on the Log in link and sign into Wordpress, or create a free account.

If it brings you to a Profile Page, just look on the upper left side of the screen for Writing Coach - "The Working . . . " (it's right above the word "Dashboard"). Click on that link - it will bring you to the Working Writer's Coach site signed in and ready to chat.

Once on the site, scroll down, looking on the right sidebar for "Live Chats with the Working Writer Coach."

You may get directly onto the page with the first Log in link, but for some reason I keep going to the Profile page.

As a bonus, for those who join in and contact me, I'll be giving my e-book:
How to Create an eBook: 5 Simple Steps

I hope to see you there!

3. Writing for Children - A Beginner's Workshop

Well, the date's set. On May 1st, I'll be giving a FREE one day workshop on the basics of writing for children. I'm HOPING to have the registration information by the end of this week--my fingers and toes are crossed.

The workshop will be through The Muse Online Writer's Conference site. You need to register for the conference (it's FREE). I will post the info as soon as I have it.

I do want everyone to know that much of the information is geared toward all new writers.

Here's an outline of the workshop:

Do you want to write? Do you want to write for children? Have you written a children’s story or other fiction story and aren’t sure if it’s in good enough shape to submit to agents or publishers? Do you know proper punctuation and formatting? Do you know how to show rather than tell?

While this workshop is geared specifically for new children’s writers, it offers the basics of writing in general with additional information for the children’s writer. Some of what will be included is:

The different genres of children’s writing
Point of View (POV) when writing for children
Basic structure, formatting and timeframe (for all genres)
Basic grammar and punctuation (for all genres)
Different methods of writing (for all genres)
Building a three-dimensional character (for all genres)
Showing vs. Telling (for all genres)
Finding age appropriate words
Resources and tools to help you hone your craft (all genres)

This workshop will provide the basics to get you started in the right direction.

You will also have the opportunity to get a critique of up to 250 words of your manuscript or article.

Handout: Yes (an exercise sheet and an ebook of writing instruction)

Door prize at LIVE online chat the night of May 1st: Two ebooks:
Writing, Publishing, and Marketing – You Can Do It
A Writing ebook (a compilation writing articles - untitled right now)

I'm hoping all you beginning writers join in!
