I think I could put myself in the starter category. This doesn’t mean I can’t finish things but it is more natural and easier for me to start things as opposed to finishing. To finish I have to avoid being distracted and bring it to a conclusion. Once in gear my creative mind is always suggesting new and exciting things and like a child in a candy store – I want them all. I fear losing the moment
I used to be a starter and a non-finisher back in my early days.. I realised it was because I was so critical of my work I hated everything I did! I still get overly critical but usually after I am finished when it doesn't matter.<br /><br />I am having major creativity blocks right now and hate painting everything I do. I'm about to do some experimenting and change tack for a while. I
Experimenting without any expectations is a great way to go. Some of my favourite works evolved from doing just that. Stop thinking and play a bit more for a while. <br /><br />I know that self-imposed pressure too. It is something I am continually trying to keep in check so it doesn't get in the way.Aim high once you are well into it but start with a sense of fun.
