2. The Color Pencil Artwork of Laura Zarrin

The color pencil artwork of illustrator Laura Zarrin

With several children's books to her credit, Laura Zarrin is an experienced, talented illustrator whose warm, color pencil drawings have a style all their own. Wonderful textures and patterns adorn her brightly colored artwork. Some of Laura's characters are reminiscent of well-known illustrator, Richard Scarry's characters.

Color pencil is a difficult medium to master. Those of you who have worked with it before know this to be true. Laura's artwork is so beautifully executed one might be inclined to think otherwise. It would be very interesting, and undoubtedly very educational to watch a video on Laura's techniques.

3. Sillyrabs Illustration - Tricks Are for Kids

Follow us down the rabbit hole, as we journey into the world of Luis Zúniga, a young illustrator from Honduras. Luis seems to have a fascination with rabbits and the macabre. Sounds like fun - doesn't it? IP also has an interest in the dark crevasses of the mind that leak out unusual but highly imaginative visuals.

If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary-wise; what it is it wouldn't be, and what it wouldn't be, it would. You see? - Alice (in Wonderland)

4. Wooly

Wooly dreadlocks. A resident musician and a yoga teacher at an arts summer camp where I teach comics. This was for the camp newspaper.

5. Writing prompts

I've been migrating my writing prompts from my old blog over here to LiveJournal. They're all backdated, way way backdated, but if you like prompts you can find them here or follow the link in the left sidebar. I'll keep adding to them.

6. The wisdom of Forest Gump

It's been one of those days, a past couple of days, still wanting to save someone but knowing I can't so I have to watch them go through so much pain. I can put opportunities out there but I can't make the moves, the choices, the right decisions for them. I can't save someone who doesn't want to do the work to save themself.

I've done what I could and have to let go, again. It is so very hard to do. And it makes me angry, screaming, crying, wanting to pound the walls kind of angry.

As Forest Gump so wisely said, "Sometimes, I guess there's just not enough rocks."
