1. Melissa Rivers to Write a Collection of Joan River Stories

Book of JoanMelissa Rivers, a TV personality and daughter of the late Joan Rivers, has landed a deal with Crown Archetype.

People magazine reports that Melissa plans write a book entitled The Book of Joan: Tales of Mirth, Mischief, and Manipulation. The publisher has scheduled a release date for May 5th.

Rivers posted a picture of the cover on her Facebook page. She also revealed that this project is “a collection of funny, poignant, and irreverent observations, thoughts, and tales about the woman who raised me.” (via TIME)

2. Journalist Leslie Bennetts Lands Deal For Joan Rivers Biography

Joan RiversVanity Fair entertainment reporter Leslie Bennetts has landed a deal with Little, Brown to pen a biography about the late Joan Rivers. Rivers (pictured, via) died in early September 2014.

Prior to her passing, Bennetts met Rivers several times. According to The New York Times, Bennetts explained in a statement that she was drawn to this story because “Rivers’s career was also enormously significant in American cultural history, breaking down barriers for women in television and comedy…”

To write the book, Bennets plans to conduct interviews with friends, other comedians, and business associates The publishing house has scheduled a release date for 2016.
