Isaacs spoke to The Metro about starring in this latest project:

“She’s been to film school in America – she has become a talented young director and adapted an A.S. Byatt short story,” Jason told Britain’s Metro newspaper. “I was paying a hairdresser. It was only a four-day shoot so I practised on a dummy at home. My hands were covered in cuts from the scissors. Having met Bonnie when she was 11, to see her direct in her twenties so confidently and well was a huge pleasure.”

On whether it’s strange to be directed by somebody so young, whom he knew as a child:

“It happens when you work for so long,” he said. “You work with people who weren’t born when you started in the profession. It’s interesting to work for people on passion projects because no one is up their own a**e. It’s about telling good stories, which is why I started this business.”

When asked about his character in Harry Potter, Jason said that Lucius Malfoy was ‘a coward and a bully who was afraid of the future and wanted to stay in the past’, adding that ‘you don’t have to look too far to see the same rhetoric coming out of some politicians now’

Being the lovely man he is, Isaacs also took to Twitter to promote fellow Potter star Tom Felton’s star role in Risen:
