Malham Cove – a previously dormant waterfall atop a limestone cliff in England’s Yorkshire Dales – has started flowing again for ‘the first time in living memory’ as a result of storm Desmond.
Malham Cove features in The Deathly Hallows: Part 1, and – as you can see below – it’s considerably drier there!
The cliff measures 70m high, making it England’s highest unbroken waterfall.

JustJared.com has published a new photoshoot and interview with actress Evanna Lynch about her upcoming projects, her time on "Harry Potter" and other personal favorites. Since finishing Potter, Lynch filmed a part for a TV show, Sinbad, to air this summer on SKY.
Images from the photoshoot can be seen in the Leaky galleries. Read the complete interview at this link.
JJ: How did shooting TV compare to your film experiences?
EL: I was excited and nervous because it was the first thing I did since Harry Potter, so it was the first thing I kind of felt like, you know this is job. Harry Potter was my childhood and it felt very safe and this was something I was
excited about. I wanted to work and meet new people.
JJ: Did you take anything from set?
EL: I didn’t steal any props. I collected all the call sheets (laughs) and I took the sign from my door that said my name. I wasn’t very daring.
JJ: Are there any books that you’d love to see get adapted into a movie?
EL: “The Hunger Games” is the big one for
me recently. I don’t know, can I get back to you on that? I always
liked that book, “Star Girl”. Have you heard of that one? She was very
much like the character of Luna so that’s why I liked it. She was more
damaged than Luna. I’m going to go look at my bookcase when I go home.

"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2" won the top prize at the Jameson Empire Awards for Best Film. Director David Yates also picked up an award for Best Director for his work on the final "Harry Potter" film.
The ceremony in London was attended by several Potter cast members, including Matthew Lewis, Bonnie Wright and Evanna Lynch. Daniel Radcliffe, who is currently shooting "Kill Your Darlings" in New York, sent a video message thanking everyone for their votes. According to BBC Newsbeat:
Daniel Radcliffe was unable to attend the ceremony to receive the
Harry Potter prize, but left a video message, saying: "I've always been
quite a harsh judge of the series, but I was over the moon with this
final film; I think we went out on a high note."
Picking up the best director prize, Yates added: "Anyone
who's ever directed a movie like this knows that it's a huge great
family that helps bring these movies to fruition and makes them what
they are."
Gary Oldman (Sirius Black) also won Best Actor for his work in the film "Tinker Tailor Solider Spy." Photos from the event can be seen at Empire's

Congratulations are in order for John Richardson and the special effects team of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2" for winning the BAFTA for Special Visual Effects!
The award was presented at a ceremony in London tonight, which was attended by several actors who once made up the cast of "Harry Potter." In attendance was Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter), Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley), Kenneth Branagh (Gilderoy Lockhard), Gary Oldman (Sirius Black), Ralph Fiennes (Lord Voldemort), Helena Bonham Carter (Bellatrix Lestrange) and John Hurt (Ollivander), who won the award for Outstanding Contribution to British Cinema.
Photos from the event can be seen at the official BAFTA website at this link. We hope to have some more in the gallery soon.
MTV News is reporting that actor Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy) has been cast in the film, "Therese Raquin" alongside Elizabeth Olsen and Glenn Close.
Felton will play Camille, the husband to Olsen's Therese. Close plays
Camille's mother, who forces Therese to marry her sickly son. When
Therese takes a new lover, they plot to murder Camille and live happily
ever after. Things don't go as planned once Camille's ghost shows up to haunt the lovers.
Actress Jessie Cave (Lavender Brown) will be returning to the London stage in a production of J.M. Barrie's "Mary Rose." Cave will play the titular character at Studio 3 in Riverside Studios from March 28 to April 28. She previously performed as Thomasina in a West End revival of "Arcadia."
MTV's Hollywood Crush blog has published a set of four new photos of actor Matthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom). The images were taken by notable London-based photographer Idil Sukan, who is the official photographer for the British Independent Film Awards. Check out the gallery at this link!
Lewis has just finished filming "The Syndicate," a BBC mini series airing later this year, and will soon begin work on "Wasteland" at the end of February.
Concept art by artist Andrei Riabovitchev was published on the website io9 that shows what could have been a slightly different ending for Voldemort in "Deathly Hallows: Part 2." Images of the troll designs are also included in the batch.
See Riabovitchev's vision for "Part 2" at this link.
HitFlix blog has published a lengthy interview with Stuart Craig (production designer) and Stephenie McMillan (set decorator) following their Oscar nomination in the Art Direction category for "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2." Craig and McMillan have also worked on the previous 7 Potter films.
The pair discuss how they got the job on the first "Harry Potter" film, working with different directors, building the sets for the final battle and the changes that took place throughout the series.
The complete interview can be read at this page, while some excerpts are published below:
At times, the developing story meant they needed to work in particularly
new and creative ways. McMillan found the most exciting transformation
was turning the Great Hall into the setting of the Yule Ball in "The
Goblet of Fire," for which they were nominated in 2005. “How do we make
it into an ice palace," she reminisces. "Originally we thought silver
curtains, silver table cloths and an ice dance floor, but it just went
on and on. The drapes man eventually said, ‘Why not just stick the
fabrics on the wall?” While an enormous amount of work, the degree of
pleasure and pride is palatable in McMillan’s voice. It therefore
shouldn’t be surprising that “The Goblet of Fire” earned the duo a trip
back to the Kodak after missing for “The Chamber of Secrets” and “The
Prisoner of Azkaban.”
Along with the changing story and expanding sets, the duo also had to
contend with changing directors. Criag, for one, relished the changes
that came with different men at the helm. “Each one of them managed to
find a different take," he says. "It kept the whole thing vital and
alive."
Both comment on the fact that Chris Columbus’ strengths lay in
working with the child actors, while, Alfonso Cuarón (who directed "The
Prizoner of Azkaban," which signaled the change in aesthetic signature
for the series) had a very visual sense. “He wanted to make films much
more magical and he really pushed all of us,” McMillan says. They also
add that Mike Newell’s film ("The Goblet of Fire") was really about
teenage angst and fun. McMillan says he “liked the boarding school
aspect of it” while Craig says the director wanted to inject more humor
into the proceedings.
The Art Directors Guild will also be honoring these two individuals with an honorary award for Outstanding Contribution to Cinematic Imagery.

Warner Bros. announced today that the famous triple-decker Knight Bus will become a permanent fixture at The Making of Harry Potter - Warner Bros. Studio Tour London.
Fans will have the opportunity to explore the inside of the bus and pose for photos. It will be situated next to Hagrid's motorbike and the Weasley's Ford Anglia. Photos of the Knight Bus at Leavesden Studios can be seen at this link.
John Richardson, special effects supervisor for the Harry Potter films, explained to the Watford Observer how the Knight Bus was constructed:
“Although many people think the Knight Bus was a CGI creation, it is
in fact a real-life working bus. To construct it, we cut up two iconic
Routemaster buses, reworked the structure and
bolted it all back together to create one bus with three decks. It took weeks to put it together and it was no easy task.
Routemasters are 60 years old, so we had to do a lot of strengthening of
the structure.
Another issue we had was filming on location in London. During the shooting of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban we
found we could not drive it across the capital due to the number of low
bridges. This meant that we had to transport the bus in
two pieces between locations and put it back together between filming."
The Making of Harry Potter at Warner Bros. Studio Tour London will open on March 31, 2012. Tickets can be pre-booked on their website; tickets will not be available for purchase at the studios.
The nominations for the 84th Academy Awards were announced this morning. In the technical categories, "Deathly Hallows: Part 2" came away with three nominations. They are:
Art Direction
Production Design: Stuart Craig; Set Decoration: Stephenie McMillan
Makeup
Edouard F. Henriques, Gregory Funk and Yolanda Toussieng
Visual Effects
Tim Burke, David Vickery, Greg Butler and John Richardson
Two former Potter actors were also recognized for their achievements this year. Gary Oldman (Sirius Black) was nominated in the Leading Actor category for his work in "Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy," and Kenneth Branagh (Gilderoy Lockhart) for Supporting Actor in "My Week with Marilyn."
Congratulations to the Harry Potter crew for their nominations!

Playbill.com is reporting that actress Katie Leung (Cho Chang) will make her stage debut this winter in the play "Wild Swans." Leung has been cast as Er-Hong, one of the main characters in the play. "Wild Swans" is based off the memoir of the same name by Jung Chang about a family living during Mao's Cultural Revolution in China.

Entertainment Weekly has named actor Daniel Radcliffe their "Entertainer of the Year" for 2011 following the success of the final "Harry Potter" film and his critically acclaimed performance on Broadway's "How to Succeed in Business..."
EW editor Jess Cagle appeared on Good Morning America to announce their choice. She said:
"Ultimately there was one person who made the most sense." Cagle
added that Radcliffe is "the nicest guy with one of the brightest
futures in Hollywood. There's nothing he can't do."
And, said
Cagle, "He's really interested in doing the work. Despite all his wealth
and fame as a teenager, he never derailed. He was never busted. Never
went outside without his panties on."

Yesterday, 1st December, Leaky attended the Blu-ray and DVD release event at Harrods, where 300 fans had their copies of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2" signed by Warwick Davis (Professor Flitwick and Griphook), James Phelps (Fred Weasley), Oliver Phelps (George Weasley), Mark Williams (Arthur Weasley) and Jessie Cave (Lavendar Brown). Attendees at the launch event received goody bags stuffed with
t-shirts, scarves, the film's soundtrack, stickers, keyrings and more! Leaky was given the opportunity to ask the actors questions in a press roundtable shortly before the signing and you can find the full transcript of that interview below, with the audio and photographs from the event to follow later this evening.
Update: Full audio of the interview can be heard right here!
"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2" is (finally!) out on Blu-Ray and DVD in the UK from today, 2nd December.
Interview with Warwick Davis (Professor Flitwick and Griphook), James Phelps (Fred
Weasley), Oliver Phelps (George Weasley), Mark Williams (Arthur Weasley)
and Jessie Cave (Lavendar Brown) at Harrods, London on the 1st December 2011.
What was the last scene you filmed on the very last film?
Warwick Davis: I think it was something to do with the dwarf and whats-his-face…
Bogrod?
WD: Yeah! Don't quote me on whats-his-face! [Sorry Warwick!] That was my
last day on what was officially the last day, that was my last day.
Oliver Phelps: Mine was filming with James on the battlement sequence
when Fred and George see Voldemort's army coming in. That was all done
ad lib and that was quite cool.
James Phelps: Same!
Jessie Cave: Mine was my death scene. Which is quite fitting, really.
Mark Williams: Mine was the Great Hall, the big Great Hall scene, mine
was the same day as Alan Rickman's and Thewlis' and a lot of other
people, a lot of us wrapped at the same time.
Rosi for Leaky: Because [James and Jessie] had big death scenes, or seen death
scenes, do you feel that meant you had more of a final end to your time
on the films than maybe other people will have had?
WD: Clever!
MW: See, you don't get away with anything with this lot.
JC: I definitely -- it was really nice kind of ending even though I was--
MW: Nice?!
JC: Not nice! Sort of…
MW: Nice as in precise.
JC: Yes, precise! Precise ending, full stop.
JP: For me it kind of seemed like a normal scene because I didn't do
anything but it was the fact that because it was in the great hall--
MW: Did you fall asleep?
JP: I did in rehearsals yeah. Because we've filmed in the great hall for
like ten years, we've shot so many things there so it just seemed like
another great hall scene to be honest with you, but on reflection I
guess it was a fitting end. Luckily it was in the last movie and not the
first.
WD: I died and then I was alive again. It's funny because when you do
these death things you want to look good and I said to David Yates, I
could be death like this [twists self] I gave him a few options, but he
went for the most contorted one, you see, which was really uncomfortable
and I just lay there for six hours watching Voldemort strut up and
down. But it was quite funny because on one occasion they put so much
blood everywhere, you can't really see in the film, but there was
gallons of this fake blood all round--
