I've instituted a kind of five-blog-posting minimum here at the Fuse that is Eight. However, this standard must be forgotten when I am offered free preview passes to movies like Hot Fuzz. Movies that, I would like to point out, are fan-freaking-tastic. So while I apologize for my paltry postings, I am not sorry. You would have done the same thing in my place.
Hot Fuzz forever, baby!

Ooh--I'm jealous! I get excited every time I see the trailer for Hot Fuzz on tv, but as I live in the backwoods of Vermont, I will probably have to wait until it's on video to see it =(h
Shaun of the dead guy and other Shaun of the Dead guy have a new movie?
Man, I live under a rock.
What makes it worse is that I live under a rock that has cable! I have no excuse.
Yep. And it's Shaun of the Dead guy like you've never seen him before. Competent!
I am green I am so jealous.
By the by, did you catch the
Korean horror/comedy The Host?
That one took me by pleasant surprise.
Was it incredibly, deafeningly loud? I've heard some complaints to that effect.
Actually, with the exception of "Shaun", I'm not much of a horror fan. "Hot Fuzz" didn't seem too loud to me at all. I'm pretty sensitive to that sort of thing and we were in a small theater. Or maybe I was just too swept up in the magnificence.
Did I mention that I loved it?
The Host is in the same rarified air as Shaun; clueless main character common man, witty writing, political jabs, funny,
and my husband who dislikes horror loved it as did like 90 out of 95 movie critics. Hot Fuzz opens in a week and I can't wait.
