1. SPIDERS WELCOME HERE

Good Morning:

I've just poured my second, and last, cup of coffee for the day. There's a cool breeze forcing it's way through the window to my left, and all is quiet but the tap, tap, tap of my computer. There's a quiet smell of Autumn in the air, and the particular glare from the sun is reserved for this time of year only.

All around me are small but obvious hints of the oncoming Fall. A slight blush of red and orange has creeped into the Pistache trees out front. The Orioles are gone, South I suppose, and the winter crop of birds are arriving. And...the big black spiders that visit us each year in the early Autumn have set up house in my front entry way.......

Although they are truly creepy, they don't seem to bother anyone and are actually quite shy. They are fantastic web weavers......

Truly, their intricate webs are an artform in my eyes. No two are alike. So... as long as the resident spider keeps to her own space, she will be allowed to continue to live!!

It's been a busy week filled with good things, and also a fair share of melancholy. My youngest son turned 18 on Tuesday and we had a great celebration. But, I must admit, the "milestone" birthdays always tug at my heart. They tempt me to put in the old home videos. But alas, I know better... There's a part of me that wants to reach inside those videos and smell my funny little toddlers who no longer exist. I miss them so very much and I'll never ever have those babies back. Watching the old videos usually does more harm than good. They're so very fun to watch, but after I'm done and the videos are tucked safely into their boxes, there's an ache left inside of me that goes so deep, it makes me feel like I can't breath. Like I'm reaching out for something that can't be held or touched. So... through the years, I have learned that it's best not to watch those old videos. Maybe someday the pain of lost toddlers will lessen. Maybe someday I'll have a few grandkids and they will fill some of the empty space in my heart. But I do so enjoy my kids as they are now, also. I am blessed....

I listed an ACEO collage print today in My Etsy Shop. The original was sold in 2005...

And I listed this one a few days ago...
