1. Hi everyone!

I´ve been thinking a lot about "Monday Artday" lately and asked myself if the blog is finished for good or if there is a chance to continue this art-challenge group.

I know that one of the problems is that blogger has reduced the number of members allowed to a blog. This means that no new members can be added here. So my idea is that we can make a Facebook-group out of it.

I would like to know from bearuh and Mike R. Baker and also the old members, especially from those who contributed on a regular basis to this blog, if they are still interested in it or what their opinion is, so please leave your comments here!

Thanks everybody!

Técnica: pastel tiza sobre papel de color lila
Me alegra la idea de volver a subir trabajos y así poder compartirlos con otros artistas, es una manera de enriquecernos todos y no perder este sitio que nos acompaña desde hace tiempo.

6. Let's do our own thing......

Since this blog doesn't seem to be monitored anymore, how about if everyone stops here once in a while to post a new image. Post it and tell us something about it.

Anyone who has a blog or posts to Flicker, Facebook, or any other website, please leave links to the sites where we can find your work.

And stop back here as often as you wish to leave a new image.

If you care to share how you created your image ---whether handmade or digital, that would be great, too.

I created this image for a challenge on the Digitalmania group on Flickr to create an image using a photo of Edgar Allen Poe. Click on image for larger view.

"quoth the POEt"

Stop by to see my images on my blog: ProArtzor on my Flickr pages.

My work is eclectic.  I see photo ops in everything, so I take photos of
anything at all. I keep some of them pretty much as they come from
the camera with a little tweaking. But I also create lots of representational
and non-representational abstracts.  I am a retired art teacher
so I'm just having fun creating art from my photos. Although I currently
have enough photos to last the rest of my lifetime, I try to go out with
my camera a couple of times each week ---not so much in the winter, though.

On both my blog and Flickr pages, I often tell how I created something
using Photoshop CC and/or Topaz filters. I usually begin with my own
photos and go wherever my mood happens to take me. I usually know
what to expect, but sometimes I try something new ---and although it may
not work out, sometimes my experimentation results in something
interesting, different, and wonderful.

7. Opening May 17th 2014

…and you are invited! One week from today "Time Intrusionator" featuring Ernest Oglby Punkweiler and many Seattle illustrators, will debut!
I'd love to have you stop by the museum and see all the cool stuff we've put together.
I'll be there in costume, signing postcards and books.

10. this is the end, beautiful friend, the end

Obviously, Monday Artday is dead and it ain't coming back. I loved this blog. I loved contributing and I loved the participation. It always felt friendlier than Illustration Friday - more intimate, not as vast and stark.

But, everything must come to an end, I suppose.

Now here comes the shameless self-promotion part: I contribute regularly to my own illustration blog and I have another blog, It's Been A Slice, where I ramble on about almost anything. I hope you'll come on over and take a look.

As of this post, my final one on Monday Artday, I will no longer be posting to this blog.

13. Cat book illustration in oil

This illustration is submitted for "Cat" and is an oil painting created for a picture book to be released next month. I just got my advance copies and they are so pretty!

We don't own a cat, but if we did, I would want happy one like this one.

Illustration from my new picture book, Without Me - "...If my kitten were without me, who would stroke her?..."

16. Blogger.com Must Go

Goodbye Blogger, hello Tumblr. At least, I'm ready to make this transition. Tumblr allows multiple members so it looks like I'll need to move this blog if we're going to have new members. It will be easy. But you will have to join Tumblr and email me again to ask to be added. Then you'll be able to post to the Monday Artday Tumblr as you wish.

So, are you all on board with this? I will make the transition next Monday.

18. Call Me. Or not.

I just announced an official cat week over on my blog.  And I received my new business cards in the mail.  Yup.  Cat.  Then I went on facebook and saw that Monday Artday is back!  I'm glad you are feeling better Mike.   And a cat theme.  Meow.

I do have my phone # on my actual card.  But I omitted it here.  I didn't want to get inundated with calls from cats wanting to hire me to design their business cards.  They can be so pussy.

19. New Members

Blogger has reduced the number of members allowed to a blog. This means that no new members can be added. I am trying to work this out with Blogger but this may mean that the blog will have to be moved. The spirit of this blog is to allow everyone to post and I would like to keep it that way. I will keep you informed.

20. Challenge: Idiom - "Like Ships in the Night"

This will be the first in a series of on-going idioms to illustrate. The series will be often interrupted with other challenges, but will continue until we run out of idioms - which is never. So, let your imagination run wild!

Idiom: Like Ships That Pass in the Night

Illustrate the idiom in any way you like to conjure the idea of ships that pass in the night.

Challenge ends on September 9, 2013.
