1. Thirty Paintings in Thirty Days #4

"It Might Rain Tomorrow" by Lois Keller, oil on canvas,  24" x 18"

I spent all day painting the Parent Center at our school, sanded and painted a table for my daughter, and even did draw in my sketch book this morning.  Did this qualify as a painting? NO! Any other day it would, but not today,  that's what I'm loving about this challenge. It's supposed to rain tomorrow so I needed to bring in some junk from outside and I thought I could atlas glaze some canvases.  I love underpainting with Viridian, Raw Sienna,  I couldn't find Burnt Sienna, but I did find an Indian Red which I'm not familiar with. I laid it on thicker than a typical glaze.  I made a mess.  I loved this color, grabbed a canvas and  started painting shapes and lines with that Indian Red, it was cool ( I mean warm) and then I got out some more colors, but only had one brush and it was all thick oil paint from this awesome box my friend (Thanks Mark) gave me that has been sitting dormant for two years, and I started to pull out more colors, found a palette knife, a rag, got a few more brushes and....quite possible made the worst painting ever.  Ha Ha! It was messy, fun, brilliant, terrifying, and terrible all at the same time.  I accept the challenge!
