1. Monothon 2012: A Celebration of Hand Pulled Prints

One of my favorite places on the island is not a surf break or a forest. It's the Donkey Mill Art Center in Holualoa. And one of my favorite events on the island is the Donkey Mill's Monothon, a fun event that brings together artists and art lovers in creating monoprints for an auction that raises money for the art center. This year, I only made it into the printing studio for one morning. Though I brought many sketches and ideas to the studio, I ignored them all and came up with the above. I'm not sure what it is, something happy, something that reflected my state of mind at the time. The auction is tomorrow night, hope to see you there—enjoying and supporting a thriving local arts community.
