26. SFG: Pink

Here's a pencil sketch I did last night of the pop star Pink. I think this shows the influence the great caricature artists Jan Obdebeeck and Mort Drucker have on me.

27. Ewan McGregor

This started off as a pencil sketch but I decided to take it a bit further and add some texture and colour.

The overlayed texture hints to one of Ewan's movies. Any guesses?

28. Sketchy McSketchington

Here's a couple of sketches I recently did. I think we should share our sketches more often. It's been fun looking at how other people work.

30. Spiked!

Had a little story to illustrate in minutes and I submitted this. Both the Art Director and the Ed shot it down! Bummer... I had a vague idea it might a bit crude though.

The rough

The final

35. Glad to be here!

Hey everybody, Glen Mullaly here to say hi-ho and how-do-you-do! Happy to have been invited to SFG and so I thought I'd start off with a few words of introduction ( and exploitation ) by steering you to my wacky website - glenmullaly.com as well as my furshlugginer Flickr site - which contains not only my own work but selected choice cuts of vintage Grade A illustration from my favourite kid's books, magazines and records from the past. Stop by and say hi!

For my first post I thought I'd share some ( mechanical ) pencil roughs for a website illo I did a couple of months ago. We start ( above ) with a small thumbnail rough ( a little over 3" high ). Next up ( below ) the almost finished pencil, about 7".

Up last, the finished illustration as a stand-alone. To see Frozen Pea Girl earning her keep click here.

36. Cheesecake

Whew! I've been so busy working on paid jobs and my book, that I haven't had much time to relax and just draw for fun. Last night, though, after I got a ton of work finished, I decided to blow off some steam by drawing my favorite thing: sexy women. I'm not sure what the SFG rules are about showing bare breasts, so here's a tame one. You can see the rest over on my LiveJournal.

37. SFG: Sketches

I decided to look through some sketchbooks and pull various sketches from over the last few years. I've been trying to sketch more recently, because I'd fallen out of the practice... thus the date stamped sketchbook. Goal: draw SOMETHING everyday. Anything else is bonus. At the beginning, it was hard just to get the one drawing in, now I usually have to keeping going. Just wish I hadn't let it go for so long...

My crazy mind at work, this is the fun stuff I really enjoy. Wish the inspiration hit me more often.

Horses, my first passion... then came the drawing.

Random daily sketches.

These are the oldest sketches, from a personal project I started in college. I don't sketch like this anymore, I've become too lazy. Would love to do it more often.

41. People in Maracaibo

I made these pencil drawings in 2000 for my final dissertation at college. I love drawing with pencils, and, though these aren't sketches, I love leaving my drawings unfinished like sketches ;)

This is my nephew, Augusto

Maracaibo, the Venezuelan city where I live is very hot. Sun is STRONG! That's why you can see here my nephew Carlos hiding his face :)

This lady was in the down town, selling coconut's water :)

I loved this beautiful lady weaving in the bus terminal

I hope those fit the topic ;)

42. Green Hell pencil sketch

A few months back I worked on a teaser pic for an Aussie film director to help him get finance for his next film. The film's called 'Green Hell' and it's an Indiana Jones type movie set during WWII.

Here are the pencils before they were inked and coloured.

The final coloured version and some more roughs can be found here

44. SFG: Clint Eastwood sketch

Another Prismacolor caricature. This one took about twenty minutes. I like this one fairly well, but I think I should have made Clint even more gaunt than this.

Hi there. I think I posted these before, but they fit the weekly challenge so well I couldn't resist posting them again. Here's a vector caricature of Jennifer Garner I did and the Prismacolor sketch that spawned it.
