26. Vintage Shop Update: Spring!

spring-shop-update_2010

‘Ello, sweets!  I hope all of you in the Northern Hemisphere are able to enjoy some warmer weather this week.  I have been so inspired by the change I have updated my Etsy shop (fable*) with a ton of vintage (and some new) goodies!  Really, really wonderful things that I can scarcely believe I’m parting with.  I know these pretties will find their way to good homes so that makes it okay.  (Psst - I have also listed items at very reasonable prices too.)

There are lots of sewing patterns, millinery, beads and a couple of lacy, floaty wearables.

Special for blog readers this week: Buy any 2 millinery items, beads or sewing patterns and get the 3rd millinery item, beads or sewing pattern for free (equal or lesser value; through midnight Friday, March 26th, PT).  Just leave a note in the “Message to Seller” box when you checkout letting me know what free item you’d like.

Non-U.S. Peeps: Please convo me the item you are interested in, plus your city/country, and I’ll get back to you with a shipping quote.

» Visit the shop here.

Thanks for looking!

32. Birdie Collage and Work in Progress

Here's my latest collage painting. Love that quote! You may be wondering where my color pencil work is lately. I'm having so much fun with collage painting, that when I sit down to use the color pencils, I just don't feel it. I'm definitely going through a transition lately. Luckily, I have the luxury of going with the flow right now. Don't worry though, color pencil fans—I have a cp piece developing in my mind right now. Hoping to work on it next week. Stay tuned.

Here's a shot of what's on my drawing board today. You can see a finished piece here. These will house little birdie collages in the windows and will be available in my Etsy shop soon (God willing and the creeks don't rise).

I've sat at many a late night coffee spots in the city and I've seen some bizarre characters some evenings and sometimes I've just been there too long working on some sketches and this is the result. Hope you dig it.

It's been a while for me...I have been doing a lot of drawing away from the computer...and with the summer on its way that will only become more common.

However I recently started sharing with a group of guys over at CHOP SHOP SHAPES...doing little creative drawings exercises with random shapes and occasional themes...Check um out here!, CHOP! SHOP! SHAPES!

I hope everyone here in the goodness is doing well. I'll be back to comment soon...Now its time for sleep.

38. Overheard at the Farm School lunch table, or...

... aren't you glad you don't eat here? * * * Laura, à propos nothing in particular: "Horses can't vomit." Me, ever astounded: "How do you know that?" Laura: "I read it in a book. It said horses can't regurgitate their food." Davy: "Penguins can, to feed their babies." Daniel: "Wild dogs do it, too." Davy: "And hyenas!"
