26. Lamb Bot

Yes, that's correct. A super-wonky hunk of lamb on a hunk of 2 x 4. I may just turn slightly edgy yet!

Something new for me- pen and ink. Real ink, real pen nibs. I love it- it gives me the line quality I've been looking for for so long! Why did I not try this sooner?
I drew up a few of these little cards yesterday...oh my goodness do I love to draw. I haven't had much time to sit down and focus lately- this was such a treat!

32. Chickenpants! and an idea for next week's challenge

I'm always leaping from plush to paint. If you don't see me around these parts for bits, it's most likely because I am knee deep in polyfill. The gap is suddenly growing smaller though: I made a painting of one of my softies.

Hey good lookin'

Here's the actual painting. It was so much fun doing this. I have been dwelling almost exclusively in Plush Land for a while now...it was great to break out the paints again.
Ok, so my idea for next week's challenge is pretty obvious: turn one of your paintings/ drawings/ computer illo into a toy. Use plush, polymer clay, found objects, whatever!

36. Illustration Friday- "Poem"

Away in a wooden shoe
Originally uploaded by chicken widget.

I painted this to commemorate our birds, when they were brand new to us.
The first part of the old children's poem:
"Winken and Blinken and Nod
one night
sailed off in a wooden shoe"
had been running around in my mind for days. And for the life of me I couldn't remember how it ended! (Still can't.) I just got the most wonderful mental image from those lines...and here it is.

What a great IF theme! I chose the character Raz, from the video game Psychonauts, because I just finished the game and I love the character design. I find this paining geeky on a few levels: 1. Fan art is geeky. 2. You could also say that the character Raz is geeky.
In any case, I adore the geeks. Probably because at heart I still am one.

43. Monday Artday challenge: Artist

Here's a self portrait I did awhile back. I was very, very not into correcting anything as a point of principle then. I've gotten over that (mostly) now. I think it fits, though. I call it "Portrait of the artist as young hipster".

Not so much with the naming things. I think I'll stick with "Untitled."

49. Illustration Friday 6/15/07- Rejection

The first thing that came to mind (and kept on repeatedly coming to mind) was part of a Jonathan Richman song-
"And they could laugh,
and that's like, rejection-
you probably won't like that very well.
