It never snows on southern Vancouver Island, well today it did!!!!!
Inspired to create a painted wreath not to go out in the flurries and pick to make one. Last of the programs for the library coming up, looking forward to a weeks holiday and big kids home for the holidays :)
View from the kitchen window, there is an inlet, ocean and mountains somewhere out there.
Loving the more delicate shades and tones of summer, too busy growing these, have to make time to paint! :)
Pale smokey shades of what is blooming, changing fast. Gardening as fast as I can and still behind.
Gardening has been taking up all my time, it's that time of year! A rainy day painting :)
Inspiration from Opus Daily Practice Challenge, happy Valentines day.

Getting ready to cut back the euphoria, remembering how vibrant the shades of green were, one of my favorites :)
November flowers, finding time for painting after a busy season of many other things. A habit to get back to.
Having fun with textures and characters :) I think these two could get into some serious mischief!
More to come......
The lilies are blooming like crazy and we have finally had rain so wonderful!
Loving the blooms! Below why I haven't been painting much, the garden and flowers have taken over. The heat has been overwhelming, we have installed a drip system which has been a wonderful time saver and much greener :)
These little characters (quail) are living in my garden, not sure how many are in the clutch. They are speedy! Papa is on the watch sitting all around the garden on the tomato trellis, by the sweet peas and atop the beans. They have also eaten all the baby greens as they sprout, round 3 is covered in remay.
They are such "attitudy" birds. And since you rarely see one alone.....
Almost summer, delicate colours. Gardening like crazy :)
First flowers of the season, been gardening like crazy getting all those little seedlings tucked in!
All the green and white and contrasting blues. The colours in early spring are so brilliant! Sweet peas planted today, stormy, greenhouse full of tender plants, studio full of colour!
In bloom in Deep Cove this week. (Sorry to the easterners). Anemones, dog tooth lilies, clematis.
These characters are up to all sorts of a ruckus! Challenge from Illustration Friday, feels good to stretch.
Spring, bunnies, spring break and a little holiday!
Starting seeds like crazy and enjoying this amazing early warmth, so much to do in the garden!
Background or no background? I'm thinking I like the watercolour back, what do you think?
