Alone or lonely the two I debate
But being simply by myself
Not something that I hate
For by myself is alone defined
And lonely another thing
Lonely is unhappy alone
Where sadness is the king

But be-fore you alone was fine
No worries did I bear
Then you came and stole my heart
With you I gladly share

So now alone and lonely
Are both the same to me
And pain that I suffer because of these two
Is bitterly plain to see

Now my prayer is this
For you and me
In love forever more
Then the pain from ALONELY
Will pass like the wind
And you will I ever adore

I have found that one of the most important things about teaching our children is the quality of time we spend with them and the conversations we share. We hear so much about the questions that little ones ask; Well, how about this...For every question my World asks me, I ask her two or three in return. It is amazing the answers she comes up with and the process she goes through to get to those answers. To carry on a conversation we must listen as well and it may just be me, but I love listening to her. She's so cute.

3. Long Love

They sit in their rockers on the front porch
and rock back and forth with a smile
Having lived all their lives full of love; no regrets
Now they knew they were on their last mile

After 70 years hand in hand they have walked
with hardly a cross word to say
They've worked and they've lived in their own paradise
True love from the very first day

From the first day they met
they knew that they should let
both their hearts follow paths only dreamt
And with this they embarked
on a beautiful journey
like a dream conjured up while they slept

As the days passed they knew
a mistake they'd not made
and loved each other desperately
for they knew from the day
was it April or May
back in nineteen hundred and three

So they close out their lives
Truly loving each other
Not even eyes wandered or strayed
But together forever they swore that they'd never
break the promise they made.

So they rock back and forth
for the last little bit
smiling tenderly as they rock last
for their lives have been full
their love has been grand
Much more than any could ask

Eric

4. Can't Not

Receive 4 Bags of Fresh Roasted Gourmet Coffee Plus a bag of Hawaiian Kona for only $19.95 + SH!

For My Wife

There’s no way I can’t not think of you
Every minute that passes by
You are in each and every plan I have
Every sentence that’s in my mind
But I can’t not have you in my arms
And I do not want us apart
I won’t not love you forever all times
From the top to the bottom of my heart
Sometimes when I try to concentrate
And “UNTHINK” of some memories of you
All of you rushes back in
My very best friend
You aren’t not the greatest this is true

7. The Beginning

OrionGadgets.com - Cell Phone Accessories

This is in the process of being illustrated and will be published soon. Hope you enjoy it.

God created the heavens and earth
In the beginning…now formless and void
Darkness covered this joyous rebirth
One might think he was somewhat annoyed

And God said then, "Let there be light."
And there was, and He saw it was good.
He separated darkness and called it night
Light was called day as we all know it should

Evening and morning made the first day
Five more and creation complete
The world God's magnificent display
In hopes that we wouldn't mistreat

And God said, "Let there be an Expanse."
Between waters below and above
Nothing God's ever done was perchance
But was all in the greatest of love

The expanse He called sky

8. A Goal is just a Dream we write down

VistaPrint USA Inc.

Below is a poem about the power of setting goals which are just dreams that we write down. I wrote this to accompany a Goal Book that I've written and is for sale at my website: http://www.ericejoyce.com and if you look on the "writings" page you'll see that you can download it for free and you may also purchase the Goal book. I hope you enjoy this poem.

As I live I'm barely breathing
Occasionally wondering why
I merely exist though inside I am seething
every plan made has gone awry
But no longer will there be an excuse

I should have all I've ever dreamt
These things I shouldn't have to choose
Great things for my life were meant
I need only tell it to be

And act as if it is
Then by god the sceptics will see
I'll reach all of my GOALS in a whiz.
Life is not about "struggling to succeed"
It is finding out what is our gift
For too many people life is led by greed

And we are bound by debt---adrift
When our gift has been found
And we know in our hearts
THIS is exactly what we are to do
With no exceptions we have to start
Even though we don't have a clue
We will look for others and the secret we'll share
And encourage each one to acheive
As anyone has a burden to bear
We will embrace and urge them on to believe
As our GOALS become clear and are set to the page
We read when we rise and prior to bed
From that moment we are no longer caged
And we see it's been all in our head
There will be those things that creep up in our minds
That will limit the steps that we take
Limiting beliefs always sneak up from behind

What decision will we then choose to make?

9. The Spirit of Happy

VistaPrint USA Inc.

In the spirit of the holidays and and the Love that we show one another and our family and friends:

This isn't a ghost story for all to be scared
And Happy isn't a person
It's about a time of year we've declared
We won't let relationships worsen

Some of us go to another extreme
and exclaim we're gonna do happy
soon realize we are all agleam
and a few times a year we are sappy

We designate Thanksgiving as one
Christmas another for us to share
The Spirit of Love and happy and Fun
No time of the year can compare

I wish we didn't have to wait
To allow the spirit of happy to flow
Everyday love, wouldn't that be great
That love seed we'll continue to sow

What we get back cannot ever be bought
What we give can't be taken away
Let's make a commitment to give all we ought
Don't let the reason we exist go astray

13. Tongue tied

VistaPrint USA Inc.

When I want to tell the lady I love how much I love her it is difficult sometimes even when I try to write it down. Recently it looked like this...

I’m absolutely in so very love with you
I’m sure positively is this it
The perfectly most wonderful is love this true
No great more one on earth could this I get

My words a little maybe jumbled it seems
But understand you I hope that will
You the most are greatest girl my of dreams
And love you I surely forever will

This everyday how is feel I
When to talk you to do I need
So it better maybe if do I sigh
Love but you do I indeed

14. Less than Overflowing?

I love waking up with words pounding on my heart and tearing and tugging to escape to the safety of my iPhone or computer or a piece of paper. They struggle to get out lest they get tangled and mixed up with all of the other stuff in there.(From my previous post)

If I do not wake in the early morn does that mean that I've nothing to say? Is my heart half full? Is is all used up? I don't like it when it's this way. Where in the world does the good come from to fill it up again. Is it time to flush the bad that's down at the bottom. Do I have to drain it out till there is only Love within? Who shall take the brunt of the bad? A wall or person unaware? Who or what ever it is shouldn't have to take it; It's oh so sad and really It's just not fair. As coal is turned into precious diamonds, the bad transformed into love. The more I give the more I can say I've won. The bad my heart will be void of. It is perhaps a time of renewal that the overflow of my heart's just not there. When it comes back to full which is normally the rule there will be plenty of love to spare. www.ericejoyce.com

15. Writing in the middle of the night.

I love waking up with words pounding on my heart and tearing and tugging to escape to the safety of my iPhone or computer or a piece of paper. They struggle to get out lest they get tangled and mixed up with all of the other stuff in there. The overflow of my heart is one of my books of Poetry (you may see all of my books here. Please check them out.) and overflow is just exactly what I feel, but still, there are things in there that are sad and painful and should stay for another time, however all of it is important. Just now isn't the right time to deal with some of those things. But I do not let them get mixed up with the happy, mushy, love stuff. So just this past Saturday about 4:15 AM this tugging and tearing woke me and I started writing and couldn't stop till I was finished at 4:21 AM, and I got back to sleep. Refreshed and content with a happy heart. Well this is what came out.

I slip between her legs as the dawn silently creeps above the horizon
She pauses as if she knows how important this time is for me. This is not a physical gratification but a moment to renew the love before a new day starts. And Dawn waits patiently as our arms become tangled around each other; She watches, quivering with anticipation until she can stand it no more. She shows herself almost all at once. Still she doesn't want to spoil this embrace so she sneaks behind a cloud and contains her might. She allows a ray of her warmth and beauty to penetrate the blinded window and I feel it come across my back. This pushes our bodies closer together yet no penatration is necessary for the satisfaction of a deep and abiding love that we share. Just a few more seconds and dawn will have lost her power over us. She let's us know our separation is inevitable as she become dawn for another love...as they lie waiting.

16. Our Purpose

I want to start off this blog with a poem I just wrote. This is not my normal type of poetry, but I will be trying all kinds of different things on this blog. I hope you all enjoy them. If you have a topic for a poem or something on your heart I will try to write one for you. Let me know in the form of a comment. Also check out my website here if you don't mind. I have a few books for you to look at.

We are born and love and are loved I suppose
At least that’s what all the books tell us
They are all neatly planned and formatted in prose
Nobody really understands all of the fuss
Let’s just make it through another day until all of the days are gone
We squeeze through those days as though we are slipping through an elevator door
Squeezed for time and for attention; the days are too long
There is never any time to sit and reflect; what are we really here for?
…We are born and love and are loved I suppose
Can there be anything more?
